Whoooo! Go rebels!
TheLaughingMan, I thought half the fun of this game would be watching the narrator struggle to fix all the brokenness as he went along. To see you reverse your reversal saddens me.

Whoooooo!

Re: Ballad of the 503rd: Star Wars WW
Honestly, as I pointed out, with my proposed rule change rebels would still have an excellent change of winning. 85%, in fact. You saw my chart, yes?
As of now, though, we, Imperials, have about 1% change of pulling even a draw, so excuse while I say we're the only ones who were screwed

Re: Ballad of the 503rd: Star Wars WW
Still, its completely unprofessional to change rules so close to the end of the game, fair or not.
Its just something Laughing will have to remember if he ever decides to run this or something like it again.
"This is why it hurts the way it hurts.
You have too many words in your head.
There are too many ways to describe the way you feel.
You will never have the luxury of a dull ache.
You must suffer through the intricacy of feeling too much"

Re: Ballad of the 503rd: Star Wars WW
Ok rebel's let's end the game. No point with the charades, I'm indeed Luke.
R2D2 stop trying to kill me and finish off Trixie tonight and we win.
Trixie, if you don't like the rules, don't try to change it. Point it out at the end of the game so that the narrator knows what needs to be changed or do so at the start before anything's happened.
Trying to change it in the middle is just pure desperation and I wouldnt have supported it no matter which side I was on.

Re: Ballad of the 503rd: Star Wars WW
Oh, don't worry. The whole best of seven thing was due to an oversight in the first place.(I'll just throw out engineers, should I ever do another one of these. They were hardly used anyways.)
Sorry if it wasn't fun for you, but I've done my best to be fair, and I have to stick by that. Go ahead and blame me for your troubles, I'll bear them with pride. Why? Because this was an amazing experience. You guys were great to GM for, and the narrative process forced me to come up with new ways to write, even if most of them sucked. Was it broken? Probably, looking back on it. But it was worth it.Last edited by TheLaughingMan; 2010-08-26 at 10:12 PM.

Aw goddamnit! FC, I would lynch you in some other game now except that I just did it in that one with no seers. Leave it to me to pick the more likely of two choices and get it wrong, every time.
I even protected FC last night, so I don't have my barrier sphere anymore.

Is that the best explanation you can come up with Murska. You're obviously Chewbacca here and trying to save your own neck
Can R2D2 please get in contact with me we don't accidentally get rid of one of our own?

Re: Ballad of the 503rd: Star Wars WW
Oh, I would have never tried to change it if narrator didn't asked us if we want to change it, and besides, bringing this up was basically the only option left to me to make you guys wet your pants even a little
That ploy was pretty good, though. Too bad it would've failed in any other WW game, it was nice for all its heavy handedness :P
I'm glad you liked the game, TLM. You'd liked it even better if anyone besides Calamity ever bothered to reply to my 2 PMs, but sadly, I was only able to do so much to make the game more interesting
And, Murska, seriously, stop that.Come one, come all! GitP MLP Steam Group is open!

Sorry to have to say this, but the narration will have to be post-poned as I actually try to write a finale for this mess.

Re: Ballad of the 503rd: Star Wars WW
Here it is at last:
Finale:
Two ran as fast as his legs could carry him, his fellow troopers at his heels. His mind was still reeling, trying desperately to make sense of things.
He remembered the interrogation room. Ten, prime suspect in the murder of Five, sat in the chair across him. He fidgeted constantly in his seat, and occasionally glanced quickly at his surroundings. The product of a month gone horribly wrong.
"So let me get this straight," Two had said. "You want me to believe that our superior ordered the execution of Five, and not only are you innocent, you've been protecting us all week?"
"Look, monkey, I can hardly understand you as is. Do you know anyone who speaks English?" Ten enunciated.
It was hopeless. Before Two could take any further actions, Twenty came through the door, exasperated.
"S-sir! Come quick!"
"What it is it this time, Twenty?"
"Solo's escaped!"
Two rose quickly, and hurried off to Solo's cell. Ten giggled to himself, and began writing.
When Two reached the cell, it was as said. No trace of Solo was left, nor that of his cellmate. A cursory scan of the scene told them of Solo's release. A keycard still lay in the lock, painting a picture neither of them were comfortable with. "An inside man," Twenty said, stating what Two had already figured out.
"Who had a keycard?!" Two exclaimed.
"W-well sir, there was yourself, Three, One, Five-"
"WHO THE HELL GAVE THE CRIPPLED ROOKIE A KEY TO SOLO'S CELL?"
"Well sir, he had guard duty on the day One sent him to get supplies-"
"You must be joking."
"I wish I was, sir."
It didn't take him more than half a second to start running to the interrogation room. His mind finished putting the pieces together as he went.
Upon reaching his destination, he looked upon the shambles of the empty interrogation room. All that remained of Ten was a scribbling on the wall:
"ADMITTEDLY, THIS WAS A PRETTY LAME JOKE
-Luke"
As Two finished reading, he heard the desperate cry of one of the troopers. As soon as he'd done so, the lights began to flash red, signaling the attempted launch of one of the escape pods. The troopers made a mad dash to the pods, each giving their all into one final sprint. Two was, unfortunately, the first to arrive. He saw Fifteen's body, the smoke of the pods, and, most importantly, the barrel of Solo's gun.
"Any last words, buckethead?"
"I'll see you in hell, Solo."
When his fellow troopers arrived, Two was too far gone, and the pod had taken off.
------------------------------------------------
"That was awesome, Han!"
"Yeah yeah, keep your shorts on, kid."
"What took you so long, anyways?"
"Well, princess, Han got captured, and I hid in the air ducts for a week. I got lots of time to practice my actin skills."
"Yeah, thanks for springing me, kid."
Solo took a swig of whisky.
"By the way, the old man's dead."
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-"
The End.
Summary:
SpoilerNumber Fifteen (Trixie) was night killed. She was a Stormtrooper. Rebels win.

(I'm wondering how a game would work if the rules routinely changed at set intervals. It would certainly be different.)

Re: Ballad of the 503rd: Star Wars WW
Ah yes, Artoo the Homicidal Maniac. Or should I say, Calamity?
Artoo ended up killing Obi-Wan and Han Solo, so I don't know how that'd fit into canon.
Fleeing Coward (as you well know) was Luke, and completely made everything up in the last quarter. Honestly, it might have been best for TFT to keep quiet.
I gave hap_hazard the secret role of The Emperor, AKA voider, and he never used it.
Murska was Chewy, and was very apt to playing double agent, if only until FC blew it.
Trixie, I've gotta say, your yawning made me want to bash you over the head with TFT's corpse.
With love, of course.
Any other questions?Last edited by TheLaughingMan; 2010-08-28 at 08:26 PM.

Re: Ballad of the 503rd: Star Wars WW
It was pretty fun when I was alive and struggling to figure out what to do being the sharpshooter. Sadly, I never killed anybody.
....I didn't think they were that bad.
Pretty good.
Of course Vader.
I have no idea.
Yeah!
Well, my least favorite was when I sent the PM to kill hap_hazard (AKA the Emperor) then took it back. And also when I basically got myself lynched with all my vote switching. It was pretty fun watching FC pretend to be Vader at the end. Though, If I was still alive I would have sided with FC. Trixie, you were being really mean about it. Seriously, I counted 8 yawns, plus a couple mehs and shrugs. Overall, I enjoyed the game, especially since it was my first time with a power role.

Re: Ballad of the 503rd: Star Wars WW
Questionnaire!:
1. How did you like the game? It was fun. You did alright, for your first game.
2. How crappy were my narrations? Not at all. Well, honestly a few could have been better. But those were the ones where you didn't try.
3. How awesome were Rabbit's narrations? She had more than one? I died, so I must have missed the non-Vader ones.
4. If you liked them, what was your favorite narration? I'd have to say the Vader one. But only because I want to know who killed him. Was it Luke?
5. What would you like to see fixed in the next game? (other than the obvious, E.G. Best of Seven, engineers, etc.) Fix the scraps system. I got the Barrier Shield on the first day, just like I told everyone, and I wasn't about to tear that apart.
But I shall let Trixie, Fleeing Coward and others hash that out with you.
6. Would you play a second Star Wars WW? Possibly. I like Star Wars. And again, you're not a bad narrator. You may well do better in another game.
But please, schedule it. I think there was a lot of tiny games this past month. And that's not a good thing to have. IT suffered for it.
7. What was your favorite part of the game? I liked defending myself against insurmountable odds. Rabbit didn't help.
