He scratches his beard.

"Speaking of that... How did you put that wolf to sleep like that?"

Gikalek grins broadly. "It's MAGIC. I learned some from the shaman of my tribe before I..... Came to live among the humans. It's my favorite."

[kaptainkrutch]

"Wow! No offense, but I didn't even know goblins could do that! I thought that was just for elves and dragons. What else can you do?"

"Oh, it depends a great deal on what I prepare for... I can always heal small wounds, to a degree. The Shaman taught me how to do that, too. I can create a magical sound out of nowhere, kind of like a ventroliquist. Today, I prepared two sleep spells, so I can do that too. Not all goblins can do it, but I can." Gikalek smiles proudly.

Hank looks downward and kicks at the dirt.

"I uhhh... I hit stuff with hammers."

He tilts his head and thinks for a second.

"I used to be a blacksmith... I made fishing spears, wood-cutting axes, knives, pitchforks, whatever the town needed, but I guess I used that as a jumping-off point to become a weapon smith. I made these little babies--"

He motions at his hammers.

"--and I skipped town. Thought I'd go out and see the world. Hasn't worked out so well thus far."

"Well, hitting stuff is important too. I don't know what I would have done after just putting the wolves to sleep." Gikalek thinks for a moment.
"I'd like to see more of the world, too. Maybe after we take care of this Barbarian issue we can move on somewhere else... If he doesn't kill us that is."

[kaptainkrutch]

"It shouldn't be too much of a bother. You can just put him to sleep and the halfbreed and I can beat his face in while he's down."

2 of the men are inspired by your speech and join you. They are now Warrior 1, and have 5 gp each, plus whatever you give them.

I give them each 5 gp and tell them to go buy leather armor.

The men return with armor as well as clubs. They will follow you on any mission so long as you make a Diplomacy check, DC depends on danger as well as relation to stopping the, as Erag would say, "angry man".
