Re: Dungeons and Drawings art stuff (new: Nixie)
A coatl or a unicorn! They both should be amazing creatures, but all the D&D pictures of them are lame.

All the suggestions so far are good; they even touch upon ones we'd wanted to do for some time, so it makes a perfect excuse.
Also, all books are fair game, so feel free to go nuts.I'm in the Player Registry.

Probably worth pointing out that if you do a coatl or a unicorn, I will judge it (But you can't do worse than the official ones...)

Re: Dungeons and Drawings art stuff (new: Century Worm)
Okee doke.
First batch of requests at Dungeons and Drawings are done. I did Tempu's request, the Century Worm. It's a near-epic level maggot that slithers across the world eating everything.
Joe filled Serpentine's Coatl request, producing an extremely festive looking snake.
Keep them requests a-comin'.I'm in the Player Registry.

WOOOOOOO and also I got referenced
Can't say it was quite what I was thinking of, but it certainly is... festive

Yeahhhh, that was a bit of a challenge. But I decided to base the century worm on an actual microscope image of a maggot. Prepare for silly.

Re: Dungeons and Drawings art stuff (new: Violet Fungus)
Why I do believe we're so late this week that we've moved off the first page. Oh my.
This time I filled in a request over at the Wizards of the Coast forums, calling for a Violet Fungus. This one was really fun to research, since I thought that the Fungus in the Monster Manual is pretty dang ugly. It turns out there are some really bizarre fungi out there. I decided to base this reinterpretation of the Violet Fungus on the weird-looking but still conventionally shaped mushroom, the Bleeding Tooth Fungus.
It sounds like it belongs in D&D already.
The other image this week isn't filling in anybody's request, but it is satisfying my partner's fascination with expersionless faces. Meet the Defacer, one of the stranger undead.
On a seperate note, I've opened up comissions. My prices are in the signature, so if anybody wants their character or what have you illustrated, contact me.I'm in the Player Registry.

Re: Dungeons and Drawings art stuff (new: Fire Giant)
Hey all.
We both filled in requests this week. I chose to do RufusCorvus' suggestion of a Fire Giant, and my partner did a Rust Monster, as suggested by Anonymous over at 4chan's /tg/.
Special treat for Rufus; your request has an animated version. So follow that link to see her moving a little bit. Did it as a little experiment on After Effects. This is a still version I'mma post up.
Also, Dungeons and Drawings got a plug in the Kobold Quarterly newsletter. Huzzah!I'm in the Player Registry.

Re: Dungeons and Drawings art stuff (new: Snow Weird)
Jack Frost nipping at your nose, fellas.
No requests filled in this week, in order to pay homage to the yearly visitor, Father Winter.
This is our second tour through the Frostburn splat book, from which we drew the women of winter to be our annual offering. First, the fickle but wise Snow Weird, forteller of fortune and disaster, and occasional granter of favours, permanently residing in her static snowy portal.
Second is the cruel, stooped Marzanna, wanderer of the torn white wasters and bringer of frozen fear. It's best to bribe her with your best livestock and crops when the frost begins to settle, otherwise you may find yourself torn apart by her icy claws.I'm in the Player Registry.

Re: Dungeons and Drawings art stuff (new: Valkyrie)
Today two requests were filled this week, both for users of the forum of Kobold Quarterly.
I filled the Valkyrie request, trying out a new style. I kinda did an amalgam of two different versions of the valkyrie, since there's an entry for them in Deities and Demigods, and Tome of Battle. My partner did the Choker, a small halfling-like creature with long arms and tooth-lined hands.
We're also going to be having a guest week soon. Starting on the 10th of January, seven artists will give us their interpretations of some of the monsters of the many many books of D&D.I'm in the Player Registry.

Re: Dungeons and Drawings art stuff (new: Kobold Quarterly)
Our art got on the Kobold Quarterly site!
We did two illustrations of a homebrew race, the Roachlings (an evil civilization of half-man, half-bug). We also got featured on their newletter a couple of weeks ago, which was also very rad.I'm in the Player Registry.

Re: Dungeons and Drawings art stuff (new: Unicorn)
Here's looking at you, Serpentine.
We filled in the Unicorn and the Sphinx (specifically a Gynosphinx) requests this week, the second image being for Wolfgang Baur, of Kobold Quarterly.
I decided to go for a more traditional look for the unicorn, forgoing the whole stick-a-horn-on-a-horse path. It's really fun to look up images of slightly mutated animals, the kind that inspire this kind of magical creature.
Also reminding you that tomorrow is the first day of GUEST WEEK, so come and see our invited artists present their visuals for various monsters.I'm in the Player Registry.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEfrickinEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
It's beautiful! And much cooler than any of the Wizards art!
The gynosphinx isn't quite my style of art, but is still a pretty great interpretation.

Re: Dungeons and Drawings art stuff (new: Nixie)
I like the Peryton art especially. The creature used to creep me out immensely since as a kid I used to get magazines about all kinds of monsters and that was one of the ones that just leapt out at me and gave me nightmares. When I first saw it in DnD, I couldn't help a smile of recognition.

Guest Week
Guest Week has now officially concluded. It was a really awesome week, full of really good and original artwork from lots of really talented artists.
The other images posted this week include the bizarre Orcwort, the beastly Nalfeshnee, the alluring Glaistig, the rumbling Umber Hulk and the ever-popular Thri-Kreen.
We'll fo' rizzle do another guest week at some point in the future, but for now we'll return to our regular posts next week.

Re: Guest Week
Yeah that guy has an unfortunate name when it comes to posting it on worksafe boards.
Anyway, we're back. Sorry about the week-long absence. Originally we'd planned to do animation for our post-Guest week entried, but they weren't done by the Sunday. We thought we'd just do it later in the week, but that didn't work out either. The animations are still coming, but not for another week at least.
In the meantime, enjoy the rest of the goblinoid family: the militaristic hobgoblin and malevolent bugbear.
