[Nexus] Good League of Good LVIII: Shaken, but not baked

"Corned beef and roast beef and peppered turkey and honey roast ham and salami." Charity says. "Don't forget to wash your hands." Because children are germ factories.

"That sounds delicious, actually...and you sound just like my mom."

Jamie sticks her tongue out at Charity, but nontheless goes to wash her hands.

[Murkus]

Praetorious nods, smiling toothily. He crosses his somewhat bulky arms passively. "Aye. I'd very much like to join."

[Reinholdt]

[Main Lodge - Tables]

Nadas wrings his hands as he leans his chin against them in thought, staring intently at a spot on the table in between him and Raril. After Raril is done, he looks down. Then up at the ceiling. Then left. Then back down.

"I need... time to come to a proper decision. It's a fairly extensive amount of information to digest that you are even here across the table from me, let alone what you just claimed."

[The Bushranger]

[Outside]

And a certain Seeing Eye Drone, now fixed up a bit, buzzes over to Quinn.
"Statement: Do you require something, Mistress Quinn?"
"Actually yes, thank you..."
And she retrieves an Application Form from the robot, offering it to Praetorious.
"Well, then, sir, if you'll just fill this out?"

"I understand." Raril says nodding. "It's a lot to take in. I'll leave you alone for a while." The drow stands and slings his bag back over his shoulder. "You can hold on to those books, if you want them. I don't really need them anymore. If you want to talk, I've got a bar down by the water, called the Black Dragon's Den. It's not the nicest part of town, though." He realizes. "How about I stop back here in a few days, just to check in? If you don't mind, of course." Raril adds quickly, not wanting to impose anymore than he already has. He watches Nadas for a reply, trying not to look anxious. Really, he wanted the chance to speak with his son again.

Nadas considers for a moment, then nods, still avoiding Raril's eyes. "Yes... feel free to return after a reasonable daily time period."

"Oh! And much appreciation is given for the literary works." He motions to the books, now looking at Raril. He's brave when it comes to books it seems.

Raril grins at Nadas. "You're very welcome. I'll see if I can find some more for you, if you want?" He offers.

[Main Lodge - Tables]

Nadas totally tries to control his sudden animated nature. "Thatwouldbegreatlyappreciatedverymuchsoyesplease. " He doesn't do a good job.

Garth has finished taking out the building supplies from the truck. Garth also smells sandwiches being made. The partial dragon man starts to wander towards the food.

Charity (probably accompanied by Jamie) comes out with a big tray of sandwiches. "Sandwiches!" she announces to everyone present. Yes, thank you, Madame Obvious.

The older drow's grin boradens and he tries not to laugh. "I'll do that, then." Raril tips his hat to Nadas. "Farewell." Then turns to leave.

[Reinholdt]

[Main Lodge - Tables]

Nadas nods. "May Lolth bless your journey." "Good tidings." He'll wait for Raril to leave before standing to get sammiches.

[Main Lodge]

Garth walks up and takes one of the sandwiches. " Ahh, Thank you very much. Looks delicious. " He says and takes a large bite from the sandwich.

Oddly enough Garth doesn't have his sword... or any sword at all...

Raril slips out of the main lodge, deciding not to stay for sandwiches. It was more important that Nadas got a bit of space to think than for him to fill his stomach. The drow heads for GLoG's front enterance, in a better mood than he had been in a long while.

Raril will have to pass Edijar's truck as he leaves, and with the sound of a shutting truck door, Edijar speaks up. "It's good to see you out Raril." Edijar says, having put away the top half of his power armor, showing the top portion of the tight black underlayer.

As Nadas starts on his sandwich, thanking Charity and Jamie for them of course, he poses a question.

"Have any of you present resided in the Nexus for a decent length of time? Say, a couple of months?"

The drow stops and grins at Edijar. "It's good to be out. Things are looking up for me, believe it or not." You know, if you don't look too closely at 'my whole family is trying to kill me' thing. Eh, everyone needs a hobby, right?

As Nadas starts on his sandwich, thanking Charity and Jamie for them of course, he poses a question.

"Have any of you present resided in the Nexus for a decent length of time? Say, a couple of months?"

Garth raises his hand. " I've been here for more than that. " He says and then takes another big bite of sandwich.

[Entrance]

Edijar smiles and offers Raril his hand to shake. In his other hand, is a bottle of bourbon. "Have time for a drink? I have a couple shot glasses." He keeps shot glasses with him? Well, he keeps a few dozen actually.

Mostly for him and Charity. <.<

"I see. Can you humour me as to the current date, then? Day, month and year, if you are knowledgeable."

[Main Lodge]

Garth is trying really hard to keep a straight face and not laugh. Really, really hard. Like comically hard to not burst out laughing and keep a straight face.

But ultimately he fails...

" Bwhahahaha! Oh, oh do you want the time of day as well? Hahhahahaha! " Garth says laughing almost hysterically. But finally he's able to compose himself to answer rightfully.

" Ah, friend, to give the day, month, and year here in the nexus would be as hard as getting a ragging stream to stop moving so you could count the number of things living in it. " The partial dragon man says shaking his head.

" The nexus is a crossroads and so time is... bendable to say the least. Have you never noticed that days might pass in what seems like seconds? Or how a few seconds can seem like days? Take that to the extreme and you have the flow of time here in the nexus. " Garth says with a nod.

Raril shakes Edijar's hand, still grinning. "Sure. Sounds good to me."

"In other words you don't know. You have my appreciation for being completely and utterly useless."
At least he manages to hold back from calling Garth a complete imbecile.

Seasons still pass with relative normalcy around this place Nadas has noticed, barring magic and super weather machines, so there must be a time system in place. It's a cultural constant to keep track of the changing seasons. He'll just have to keep asking.

Of course, if Jamie or Charity step in at any time, it'd make things faster.

Garth shakes his head his eyes still a bit teary from his laughing. " Go ahead and ask just about anyone else and they'll say the same thing friend. " He says with a small chuckle.

And then remembers what happened to his sword and suddenly becomes very somber.

Edijar chuckles and sets down the tailgate before pouring four shots. "But, in all honesty, I'm glad to see you aren't going down the path I did." He sighs and puts back his first shot. "I had gone through a very very dark place."

"Then answer me this: How were you able to so readily tell me that you've been here for longer than a couple of months when you're unable to even count the days that go by?"

Garth chuckles and half shrugs. " Experience. Also, I keep a daily journal. I also meant total. It well could have been decades when I've left on trips to places with more stable time frames. " Then he looks at Jamie and nods. " The child is right. She has the years of a twelve year old but relative to just about everything else she's eight months old. "

"GAH! If relative to everything else, she's eight months, then eight months have gone by in the calendar year! HOW HARD IS THAT TO COMPREHEND?! I wish to know the time frame relative to everything else! Not Jamie's time frame! Not your time frame! THE DATE!"

It doesn't help you guys outright laughed at him. Especially after a rather jarring meeting.

Calm down though Nadas. These people aren't worth getting that demon blood worked up.

"Time is a bit odd, but for me, it's (insert date here). I've been in the Nexus for about two years now." Charity says.
