Re: Iron Chef Optimization Challenge XI
I'm tempted to go for a massive, massive cheese-fest, just to see how it does.

Re: Iron Chef Optimization Challenge XI
Hmm, I've got two ideas. One skirts dangerously close to familiar territory, but makes great use of the secret ingredient. Another is (I think) original, but may lose some points in Use of Secret Ingredient. Oy...decisions, decisions.

Re: Iron Chef Optimization Challenge XI
The truly annoying thing about the PrC is the restrictions. You have to be a certain race. You have to use every feat granted you until 6th level. Then you actually use the PrC, and preferably all of its levels.
So first half of the build is dictated by prerequisites, second half by secret ingredient.
Still, I've figured out something to do with it, but...
Bah!

Re: Iron Chef Optimization Challenge XI
I'm kinda curious, given the applicability of Races of Stone as the source material, if we'll see any other PrCs from Races of Stone present? Not gonna say which one, but I can think of a couple of interesting things that can happen there.

Re: Iron Chef Optimization Challenge XI
Quite possibly...
*sees your feral grin and ups the stakes to an unsettling laugh*
Actually, I'm still on the fence about one build idea that incoroporates another Races of Stone prestige class, but I'm afraid that it showcases that class more than Blade Bravo. If I have the time, I may still toss it together and submit TWO builds.

Re: Iron Chef Optimization Challenge XI
Haha, I know, I know. I'm waiting for the others to post, though I may have to find a creative way to prod them. But there's plenty of time before the contest ends, so I may be able to keep up the pace of the game AND wind up with two builds.
...or three. I've got another one cooking that will probably come in dead last, but I just love the flavor of it.

Re: Iron Chef Optimization Challenge XI
I think after the builds get posted, I'd like to see some people's ideas of "unoriginal" builds for this class. I mean, there are a few somewhat obvious directions to go with this class, so I think people will try to avoid those paths. But I'd actually like to see some decent skeletons of those more solid, nothing-fancy builds.

I'd like in as a contestant if I might. Haven't ever done something like this before, but I've lurked on various boards for years and DM'd several games :)

Hmm, you know what? There are already more than enough judges and it's been a while since I submited a build...
Could you switch from judge to contestant, Ozy?

Re: Iron Chef Optimization Challenge XI
Sure. I'll change it right now.
Also, I think I'm supposed to make a big frown face about speculation (even if I had the exact same expectation). So less speculation, more silly nerd trash talk.Last edited by Ozymandias9; 2010-09-01 at 11:20 PM.

Re: Iron Chef Optimization Challenge XI
And there's the rub. I just realized a key component of my first build doesn't work without some changes that may knock off points in elegance. Grr...
