I should keep a mental note from now on not to charge through bushes of what I conciously suspect are itch-inducing plants. Because my legs have been killing me with how badly I must stop typing to scratch goodbye.

Re: KuReshtin's Vociferously Ruminating Harbinger of Random Banter - #147
In my apartment of four, I only ended up with one flatmate, and two empty rooms. It's pretty cool, plus he's a decent guy. Hopefully your friendly geeks remain just that...
Oh! Actually, I went to Edinburgh today with said flatmate, and a couple of friends. That was cool.
And I discovered that I can look more feminine than I previously thought. This avatar by Phase.

Re: KuReshtin's Vociferously Ruminating Harbinger of Random Banter - #147
It's welcome-back week, and the sorority ten feet from my window has spent literally 27 hour a day singing outside. In large, off-key groups. I'd speculate that they're singing more than one song, but I have no concrete proof of this: the sing-a-longs blend seamlessly into one disjointed rhythm, and whenever I manage to slip into lucidity long enough to make out distinct lyrics, I hear something to the effect of, "love," "sisters," "friendship," "love," "forever," or "love."
This has been going on constantly since Monday. I'm considering tear gas.Spoiler<-I won this from Dr. Bath.Spoiler

And Octopi is just pure incorrect.

Re: KuReshtin's Vociferously Ruminating Harbinger of Random Banter - #147
Teddy approves of this. Filantropy aside, I think the world would be a lot better if humanity was subjugated by a race of intelligent bears.
Have you considered napalm?
ION: I'm back. Yesterday, I woke up at half past 7 and went to bed at 11 o'clock. Practically everything inbetween was Advanced Civilizations - Civ Projects with 6 players playing two countries each.
Today, I woke up at half past six - that is earlier than my earliest school days - and I continued playing A. Civ. till 12 o'clock, where we had to stop despite not being finished. I ended up next to last due to two catastrophic trade rounds with several disasterous calamities hitting both my countries, but I actually think that it went pretty well anyway.
Now, I'm just tired.Clouddreamer Teddy by me, high above the world, far beyond its matters...

Re: KuReshtin's Vociferously Ruminating Harbinger of Random Banter - #147
And I still have a week before going back! And then a whole week before lectures, classes or any serious work begins.
Also!
I had an incredibly terrifying dream last night, actually woke me up with a pounding heart. (This would be the first proper nightmare I've had in years. Perhaps even a decade or more.)
It was essentially a 3rd person viewpoint, so it was like I was watching a film at first.
There were about a dozen people in a bar, I think it was in Trogland, but there were three Australians present. These twelve hit it fairly well off, and were going to a different club to dance.
They cut through a fairly quiet road, and under a streetlight stood. Well. Something that looked like the Slender Man. Yeah. (Don't forget, at this point, this is still a film narrative to me)
But none of the twelve paid any attention to it, assuming it was someone waiting for another person. So they kept walking, and the Slender Man followed.
Then it merged Slender Man into the Weeping Angels, so that if you saw him he stood still, but when they blinked he was right in front of them immediately and he ran them through with his hands.
So the others ran.
Then it turned out that he'd moved them to Britland. Specifically the fields about a minute away from my house. And there were dozens of Slender Men, and now I was there, along with the eleven from Trogland and about twenty others.
We were told to run. Because these ones were only the messengers, the harvesters.
And that if we were caught it was only the beginning.
The thirty odd humans were given a knife, and were told to run. To fight. To run and fight. To do whatever we could to escape.
Half started running immediately, and the rest stared at the Slender Men who were crouched resting on the tree limbs around us. We didn't blink, and so the Slender Men ran after the runners.
They blurred and left after-images behind them as they ran. And the humans screamed, but they didn't make a single sound. They ghosted through the grass, and one ran so close by me that I felt the wind displaced from his chase. But his clothes didn't rustle. It didn't make a noise.
When the Slender Men caught their target they didn't kill them as the first one did. They snapped that person's spine. It echoed throughout the entire valley!
I ran, but I barely made it out the field before I felt something was wrong. And I didn't want to die or get caught. So I stabbed myself in the heart.
I felt myself die. And the Slender Man that was chasing me iust stopped, barely inside my area of vision and watched.
And I died.
Terrifying doesn't even cover what I felt.
And the weirdest part about all this?
I'm not afraid of either of them, sure, they're creepy as all Hell, but not terrifying. Heck, I actually love both those creations because they don't actually do anything much. At least not until the Angels two-parter.
Stupid overactive imagination, twisting them into things that actually scare me.
Bathatar!
Squid bones are lies.

Re: KuReshtin's Vociferously Ruminating Harbinger of Random Banter - #147
...
Remind me to call ahead before ever visiting your dreamscape, Koorly.
Sounds remarkably like you combined the two most terrifying creatures you could imagine in your head to create a being even more terrifying than the individuals. Probably somewhere in your mind the two ideas connected and merged, thus creating the beings of your nightmare.
The fact that it began in an unfamiliar setting, then transported into a more familiar one is probably related to the idea that a horrible thing can begin somewhere far away, but then make its way straight to your front door, which is even more terrifying than if it had just started right where you lived or if you had gone and visited it, because that means it can be anywhere.
And the fact that you were all armed with knives that were, ultimately, ineffective would be the futility of the common man to protect themselves against such atrocities, and the inevitable result of trying to do so. Your psyche, realizing that it had no way to counteract these horrors, ended your life before your mind could produce an even greater terror.
As far as nightmares go, that one is pretty "good". o.o;
