On a tangentially related topic, how did Falcon become an Abyssal? I thought only mortals were given Exaltations. Or is that part of the plot?

Well, normally, that's the case. However, a Solar Exalted can have their Exaltation 'flipped' to Abyssal (since an Abyssal is, essentially, an inverted Solar Exaltation) through being trapped inside a Monstance of Celestial Portion (which is what 'holds' an Abyssal Exaltation when not in a 'host', as it were) until their will breaks from being subjected to the whispers of the Neverborn.

After that, one set of renunications and a Sorcery spell later, hey presto, one more Abyssal Exalted in the world (and one less Solar).

Shiny. I didn't know Monstrances did that, but rather thought it a temporary transformation given by a different artifact.

Do you suppose a monstrance could do the same thing to a Lunar? Or a Sidereal, Dragon-blooded, etc.?

Well, there's is a Charm that makes an Abyssal or a Solar look like the other (right down to the effects of any other Charms used looking like those of their 'mirror charms' to onlookers...)

I wouldn't think it would work on any others - their Exaltations are totally different.* Might well drive anybody trapped inside one insane, though.

* Except, maybe, Infernals. Since they were once Solar Exaltations, too. Although they're more 'modified' than 'mirrored' like the Abyssals are.

Right. Infernals used to be solars. But if you can invert a solar to get a deathknight, why couldn't you invert a sidereal to get something else entirely?

...the only character who would have a better-than-even chance of turning her away from the Dark Side (they have cookies) would be Zamira, who's semi-perma-deadtimed. Anshu and Cerise might be able to do it, but it would be very difficult.

Her sister would have no chance. Simply because self RP would be cheap and no fun at all.


And that is a good question. What would the 'inverse' of a Sidereal be?

Well, someone will just have to go for the slim odds of doing it anyway then.

Now, the inverse of a sidereal would be...um...very individualistic, against fate, out in the open, and so on.

So it just occurred to me that all my characters have powers of one sort or another except for Derrik, who is a cat. I think I need to kill some of them off.

And typing this, I realized Riace has no powers, only a desire to obtain them. So that's something. And Shaneir only has items, which can be conveniently lost. Okay, this isn't so bad.

There may be ways to invert other kinds of Exaltations, but none are canonical. Also, Infernals put into a Monstrance explode the Monstrance. Canonically.

Also: Yes, Solars definitely do not have to be nice.

The only person who's gonna be remotely effective against Gordon is Jack or Ebon. Jack isn't doing anything, and I have no idea what happened to Ebon.

Sorry, but this time Gordon is going to give them a curb stomp. I normally play fair, but I think its high time for Gordon to flex his muscles, pull out all the stops and show AMEN why he's the boss.

There is a reaction for every action, and the reaction for the plotting is to be crushed, without mercy. That's one of the benefits of playing evil.

Curbstomp is one thing, Phantom, but what Moff is ranting about is you having a power that completely removes someone from any ability to do anything at all. It's not fun OOC, and there's no reason for anyone to continue to roleplay with you as long as blood magic is all powerful. If it is nerfed a bit, causing pain or giving a will save, or whatever, then that's different, but getting to play someone like a puppet just because you once encountered their blood is overkill.

Honestly, Moff, go with the Lucky retrovirus immunity defense. It makes sense.
