Zeb and Alarra are both away on holiday. And I'm not sure if they have internet access.

Qwaz, maybe you could PM Roland and Rawhide and ask them. Or maybe SMEE. I don't remember the other Mods off hand. I think Averagejoe is one now, also.

    +++++++++++++++++

As to the issue of WW burnout. I am also worried I'll burnout.

I play in as many games as I can, but I don't pay as much attention as I used to. But I do it, because some of the newer narrators are not being given much of a chance.

For those who don't play because the rules look to be too much, I suggest this:

    Don't read the roles!!

At least not for the first few days. Just pay attention to your own powers, if you have a power role.

If you survive the "blind days" (what I consider the first three days) then look over the Roles. The ones you mostly want to pay attention to are Roles that affect the Day Voting. Vexers, Power Voters, Day Baners, and Beasts.
If you are a regular villager, these are the ones that affect you the most.

The only rules you should read at the beginning are the general rules, not the character roles. If you don't read the roles immediately, you may not have to worry about them at all, because you may die in the first three days.

I agree up to a point.

If veteran narrators don't have a problem with sign ups to weird/complicated games where budding narrators do then I'd suggest budding narrators start smaller with less complicated / broader appeal games that require less players.

If you're trying to sell a crazy unseen game that noone's played OR can feel the balance for AND they've not seen you as a narrator AND you need at least 40 players to make it work...can you see where it's going?

My first: A classic varient and I got 24 players...i think. Everyone knew where they stood and wether I'd had 10 or 50 players it wouldn't have mattered - the game could go ahead.

Not saying everyone should be rigid and not innovate but if my first game was 12 seperate teams all with power roles i wouldn't have expected to get the required number of players.

EDIT - I have PM'd Roland St Jude.

    Rules Suggestions for new narrators

    1. Play a few other people's games first.
    2. Be a co-narrator for someone else, just to get the feel.
    3. Keep the game relatively simple.
    4. For your first game or two, use a setting that is recognizable.
    5. Don't require a certain number of players for the game to be played with balance.
    6. Do your best to end the days on regular schedule. A mishap once isn't a problem. But consistenly forgetting to update hurts the game, and your players will disappear.
    7. Only start a game without a co-narator if.....
      1. After weeks of asking, no one will co-narrate.
      2. You are 100% positive you don't need one.

    Anything else?

Not that I'm one to say considering I've never been the main narrator, but it seems like a good tip.

Many players appreciate an RP/Storyline. If you can't RP well, either tell your players up front that the RP will be limited, or find a co-narrator that can RP well, with the latter being preferable. [You may want to rephrase that]

Yeah, I still join most games but I'm a bit burnt out of my life in general, not just WWs, so I don't pay that much attention. Enough to avoid autos (usually) and to use my powers (if I get any) and to follow the most logical-seeming arguments in the thread (most of the time) and to update my team (if I know who they are) but not enough to have a separate PM conversation with over 80% of the playerbase or to go through the previous days of voting with two separate spreadsheets to scan for disrepancies in effort and activity like I used to.

...and you're still an evil genius even when only half paying attention.

I'm as guilty as anyone I guess, I've spent even time away from the forums to not feel burnt out, but I still only sign up to the games I already know are good, or settings/rules that really take my fancy. I really should open my horizons a bit, and the drop-off in scheduled games has opened my eyes to it.

I'll still be running it if I can get the encounter system and Lynchpin/Protector roles sorted, but I'm pretty sick of it right now!

Hey Mordokai, do you need a co-narrator for Nexus? Maybe you could take one of these two to help you, and give your special guidance.

I'll take the other and let them co-narrate ItP: Battle for.... with me and Supagoof. That is, if Supagoof's okay with this.

I seriously hope and think they need somebody whose better versed than I am. Besides, Petey up there(who, incidentally, managed to got himself put next on the "to be ripped" list ) is already co-narrating.

So, I've finally got my Advent Children IV rules into something approaching a readable form, only took me two and a half years.

Rules as they stand are below, along with an initial story teaser, I'm saving most of my stuff for signups and the opening narration. I'm still working on an item list and trying to find some better character potraits, but the rules are at least half way there. Those of you that aren't fans of complicated games, be aware this is nowhere near as complicated as it looks to play, all these extra bells and whistles just make Advent Children a git to narrate!

Please, please, please, pull and tear this to pieces, find the holes, rip it apart. I want this game to be balanced, something that the third game really wasn't, so I've based this more off the second games rules as that seemed the most balanced iteration so far. The role list is set up for 35-40 players, less than this and the Kuja wolf role would be dropped. Advent Children always has a tiny amount of wolves compared to many other games, to compensate for the fact they're remarkably difficult to lynch.

Final Fantasy Advent Children IV - Centuries of Sin

    Story Snippet
    Spoiler
    Show
No-one thought it would ever come to pass, but finally Spira is at peace, nearly two years into the Eternal Calm. With Sin finally defeated for good by the Summoner Yuna, no longer does the constant threat of death or fear of machina technology through the teachings of Yevon affect its people. Free from the constraints of an overbearing religious dogma, people have started on the road to rediscovering the technology of the past, as well as pursuing popular pastimes like Blitzball and Sphere Break. The Al-Bhed have finally been accepted by society, no longer anathema, while the Gaudo have retreated from view, unable to bare the hatred of the Ronso and the stigma of the evil Maester Seymour any longer. Things aren’t perfect, but Spira is at least beginning to heal after a thousand years of fear and death.

Then the angry red comet appears in the night sky, and everything changes.

Besaid, being on the coast and away from the bright lights of Luca and Bevelle, is the first place to see the newest glow in the heavens. Practicing blitzball on the beach, just like old times, Wakka and his Besaid Aurochs are just finishing a night’s training when Letty notices the ominous looking comet.

“Hey boss, what do you think that is?”
“Whatever it is I don’t like it. It feels weird, you know?”
    “I-is it getting bigger?”

Wakka and his team glare up at the strange red spark for no more than a few moments, but even in those scant seconds it doubles in size. Now it’s half the size of the moon, a bathing the beach with an evil crimson glow, and it’s still growing.. Wakka shakes his head and turns to the others, his usual laid-back manner gone.

“Run back to the village and get Yuna. Lulu too. They need to see this.”
    “Why?”
    “Just go!”

The Aurochs sprint off towards town, leaving Wakka to watch as the ember coalesces into a full on comet, a flaming ball of charred crimson rock. Not shooting across the sky, not just passing dangerously close. Heading straight for Spira.

Wakka gulped and started backing towards the ancient ruins at the far end of the beach, already knowing he didn’t have enough time.

    “No. Straight for Besaid.”

    * * * *

    Blue.

    Midnight blue.

…That was unexpected. For what seemed like an eternity all that it had known was red.

For a few moments that was all. Then the sensation of movement, an up and down motion felt throughout its body.

    “B-body?”

As it opened its mouth to speak liquid flowed in, choking away the sound and finally bringing it back to grim reality. Not it…he. The man raised his head out of the swell and spat a plume of water into the seething waves. Uncomprehending eyes looked out at an unfamiliar coastline, a jumble of white beaches, palm trees and ancient ruins. The man dragged himself from the shallows and away from the huge waves pounding onto the ruined beach, coughing and rubbing salt from his green eyes.

He had felt alone like this before, a long time ago, and now it came flooding back with the force of a sledgehammer. He looked behind him towards the sea, and saw a whirling maelstrom of pure chaos, wind stirred up to hurricane force, the water so wild and clouds so dense and low it was impossible to define where the sea ended and the sky began. He was completely and utterly alone.

    “Mother?”

    “Brothers?”

No answer, just the pounding of the waves, the drumroll of the thunder, and the ceaseless rain rattling against his bruised translucent skin. Yazoo sank into the sand, pulling his knees up to his chest, and started to cry

    Basic Rules
    Spoiler
    Show
On a basic level, Advent Children follows the standard rules of all WW games, but there are a number of important differences.

At the start of each day phase, a random encounter will attack Besaid and its inhabitants, simulating the classic JRPG random encounter system. Sometimes there will be two encounters, or maybe even more, the effect of which I will advise in the narration.

Players vote in red during the day phase for the person they want to face the encounter, and at the end of the day the player with the most votes will take it on. Players are allowed to vote for themselves, but a no-vote is not an option. Deciding that no-one will fight the encounter that’s raising hell through the village can only end badly. If there is a tie then every player who receives the most votes will face the creature.

If the player defeats the encounter they survive, and may receive an item from the creatures Item List, depending on the luck of the draw. If they lose then they’re killed and their role is revealed in the end of day narration.

In the night phase, various roles have abilities which they can put to use, and the Remnants can of course make their kill attempt. When the next day breaks the fallout from the previous night will be narrated, and another random encounter will turn up to cause trouble, and the cycle begins anew!

    Previous Game Threads:

Final Fantasy Advent Children – The Return of Sephiroth Remnant Victory
Advent Children II – The Battle for Balamb Garden Remnant and Fujin Victory
Final Fantasy Advent Children III – Burmecia or Bust Remnant and Kuja Victory

    General Stuff
    Spoiler
    Show
Day phases will last 48-72 hours, and nights 24-48 hours, depending on the number of remaining players and my own commitments. I won’t wait for missing night actions, so my advice is to get at least a placeholder in quickly, and then change it later if you need to.

Autolynches will occur after 2 consecutive days of inactivity. To be active you must vote! It must be in red and it must be for a living player. Votes for the narrators, Chuck Norris or Rick Astley will not count. Remember though that you can vote for yourself. I don’t send out reminder PM’s and I tend to be quite strict about it, but if you’ve posted in thread but not voted, or crossed out a point and not replaced it with another I may be lenient.

Helgraf’s Scry Interference Rule will be in play.

    Encounters
    Spoiler
    Show
The Remnants are not the only thing Besaid has to worry about. Every day the village will be attacked by one of the following random encounters. There are a total of 10 possible encounters:

    Iron Giant
    Cactuar
    Flan
    Bomb
    Ochu
    Zuu
    Sand Worm
    Marlboro
    Dual Horn
    Behemoth

Each player can defeat a number of random encounters as stated in their role description; this will be two for most players. Some encounters are tougher than others, and a smaller amount of players will be capable of defeating them. Don’t worry if you’re not familiar with Final Fantasy games, the toughness of each encounter won’t necessarily match how tough they are in the videogame!

When an encounter is defeated there is a set chance that it will drop an item for the victorious player to pick up. Of course, every defeated monster gives Kadaj a chance of scavenging an item too. The kind of items each encounter may drop will be listed in its entry above, though the chances of each encounter dropping any item will remain a secret.

    Items
    Spoiler
    Show
    Item list to come!

A few items will begin the game in playerbase circulation. Otherwise, players get items by defeating encounters, through Brother’s item crafting ability, or Kadaj’s scavenge ability. There may be special events where items are gained throughout the game too.

Items can be freely transferred between players, but only during the night phase. A player may only hold one item at any particular time, but can choose to discard the item they hold to make room for another. When a player is night killed or defeated by an encounter any items they were carrying are lost.

Certain items are unique, and once in circulation they will be unavailable by any means until the item is used, discarded, or the item holder is killed. Unique items will be highlighted in the Item List.

    Spiran Roles (Villagers)
    Spoiler
    Show
Free of Sin for just two years, the people of Spira, and more specifically Besaid, now face an even bigger threat. They need to root out the Remnants in daylight, and just hope to survive the night, all the time keeping Yuna safe. Because if Summoner Yuna’s soul get’s into the hands of the Remnants…

All Spirans start the game blind unless otherwise noted.

    Tidus (Protector)
    Spoiler
    Show

The Fayth are dreaming again, Jenova’s presence stirring them in their eternal sleep once more. Tidus finds himself back on Spira two years after he disappeared with Besaid descending into chaos right in front of him. Immediately he has only one burning desire; to protect Yuna from this new threat with the strange excuse for a life he possesses. That the presence of the Remnants has prompted his new existence doesn’t matter, as long as Yuna stays safe. If Tidus has to disappear again to ensure her safety, then so be it.

Tidus begins the game in contact with Yuna. If Yuna is voted to face a random encounter she cannot defeat, Tidus will secretly take her place, defeating it if he can, or dying in Yuna’s stead if he cannot. He also protects Yuna from being night-killed by the Remnants, saving her life at the expense of his own. If Tidus is targeted for night kill by the Remnants, he will take one of them down with him at random.

Tidus scans as Tidus/Yuna, and can kill three random encounters.

    Yuna (Lynchpin)
    Spoiler
    Show

Two years ago Summoner Yuna saved Spira forever from the predations of Sin, breaking the cycle of death and strife that had taken hold of the world for a thousand years. Losing her lover and Auron through the cessation of the Fayth’s dreaming was a massive price to pay, as was losing her summoner abilities. But now the Remnants have literally fallen to earth, threatening Spira and Yuna herself in a very personal way that Sin could never have matched. But with them, Tidus, Auron, and her own summoning abilities have returned, and Tidus is back by her side. The Remnants want her soul for their own purposes, so they must be stopped, but will that mean Tidus and Auron disappear once more?

Yuna begins the game in contact with Tidus. If Yuna dies, Sephiroth will use her soul to bring Jenova up from her ocean grave, gaining a number of powers.

Tidus has a few abilities up his sleeve to protect her, but Yuna has a few tricks of her own. As each Remnant is defeated (Kuja is not a true Remnant, and therefore grants no ability to Yuna on death), Yuna regains an aeon which she can summon to grant the following abilities:

Ixion (Loz) – Ixion’s powerful electrical charges give Yuna the ability to defeat a further two random encounters.
Ifrit(Kadaj) – Ifrit’s flames can keep one target from using any ability they may have. Essentially Ifrit gives Yuna a void action usable once each night phase.
The Magus Sisters (Yazoo) – The magical siblings try to help the fight against the Remnants by giving an item to three random Spirans.
Anima (Sephiroth) - As Anima pulses with Pain, each Remnant has the number fo encounters they can defeat reduced by one.

Yuna scans as Tidus/Yuna and can kill one random encounter.

    Auron (Baner)
    Spoiler
    Show

The dreams of the Fayth were intrinsically linked to Sin, and now Jenova’s dormant presence is giving them power after two years silence. Auron’s as surprised as anyone to find himself back in Spira, but he’s an experienced guardian of both Yuna and her father Braska before her, so he more than anyone is best placed to protect Yuna and the others from the rampaging Remnants. Only one little doubt worries him; if the Remnants are defeated, will the Fayth sleep once more and condemn both he and Tidus to non-existence?

Auron can protect one target each night from any kill attempt made against them, including himself. He scans as Auron, and can kill three random encounters.

    Lulu (Seer)
    Spoiler
    Show

A former guardian of Yuna on her summoner’s pilgrimage, after the defeat of Sin Lulu returned to Besaid to begin a family with Wakka. Now heavily pregnant and cut off from her husband and friends, Lulu must use her magical abilities to find and help her friends before the Remnants find her, or, even worse, find Yuna.

Lulu can scan one target each night to determine their role. Lulu scans as Lulu/Kimarhi. She can kill two random encounters.

    Wakka (Head Mason)
    Spoiler
    Show

The only one to see the Remnant’s comet crash land in the ocean near Besaid, Wakka knows more than anyone the threat that Spira faces. Separated from Lulu and responsible for the safety of his team, Wakka is going to need all the skills and experiences from his time guarding Yuna to survive and put the Remnants down for good before they get what they need.

Wakka starts the game in contact with the Besaid Aurochs. He scans as a Besaid Auroch, and can kill three random encounters.

In addition, Wakka starts the game with one of the following abilities (chosen by the player and made known only to Wakka and the Aurochs):

    - A snipe (night kill) once every four nights, 100% success rate.
    - A scan once every three nights.
    - A careless bane once every two nights, not usable on Wakka or the Aurochs.
    - The beast ability (on his death Wakka will take someone out with him who was responsible for his death, at random).

    Besaid Aurochs (Masons)
    Spoiler
    Show

Wakka’s blitzball team, companionship in adversity and their manager’s tutelage have helped the Besaid Aurochs develop from a laughing stock into a formidable outfit. With the Remnants searching for Yuna and running riot through their hometown, the Aurochs need to stick with Wakka and use teamwork to overcome what is the biggest game of their lives.

The Besaid Aurochs begin the game in contact with each other and Wakka. They scan as Besaid Aurochs and can each kill two random encounters.

    Kimarhi (Fool)
    Spoiler
    Show

Yuna’s first ever guardian, since the defeat of Sin and death of his tribal elder, Kimarhi has become the leader of the Ronso tribe. Retreating to Mount Gargazet, Kimarhi has spent the last few years entrenched in the politics and rituals of his people, and is woefully out of touch with what’s been happening in the world outside. Things have moved on, and while Kimarhi has rushed to Besaid to help his former friends, the cloistered lifestyle of the last few years may mean that he’s more of a hindrance than a help.

Kimarhi can scan one target each night, but unlike Lulu and Yazoo, the result he receives will be random. Kimarhi scans as Lulu/Kimarhi. He can kill two random encounters.

    Spiran Civilians (Villagers)
    Spoiler
    Show
You though that after Sin was defeated for the final time you were safe. The oppressive Yevon religion quickly declined, and technology slowly began to return and make your lives easier. Now the Remnants have come to Spira and you again live in constant fear of your lives. Fortunately, after living with Sin for so long you’re not completely helpless in an emergency, and while Yuna lives there is still a chance of victory. You need to find the Remnants before they find Yuna…or else.

You scan as a Spiran Civilian. You can kill two random encounters.

    Al-Bhed Roles (Neutrals)
    Spoiler
    Show
The Al-Bhed have almost become accepted since the collapse of the Yevon faith, a far cry from the prejudice and distrust generated by their machine use in the times of Sin. After all the fallout from Sin fizzled away Rikku returned to her old comrades, though she still visted her friends in Besaid frequently. And so fate dictated that when the Remnants comet crash landed just off the coast of Besaid, Rikku and her fellow Al-Bhed were not far from the village themselves. With their ship badly damaged and most of the crew injured or dead, the Al-Bhed have no interest in risking themselves in a full on fight against the Remnants. If they can stay unnoticed and repair the ship before everything goes up in flames then they may just be able to escape!

Rikku, Cid and Brother start the game in contact with each other.

    Rikku
    Spoiler
    Show

The Remnants don’t worry Rikku. Yuna’s a tough woman with plenty of guardians to protect her, and the Al-Bhed always seem to come out of things alright in the end. Still, if she can make a little mischief and confusion in Besaid while the ship is repaired, then even better, right?

Rikku has a small force of automata under her control, ready and willing to do her bidding. Three times during the game, Rikku can swap a day’s encounter with one of her automata, via PM to the narrator in the previous night phase. Al-Bhed can defeat these awakened machina easily, but anyone else chosen to face them will automatically lose the fight, unless they have an appropriate item. Even better, Rikku can salvage a part for the ship from her automata each time she uses one, speeding up the repairs.

Rikku scans as Al-Bhed, and can only kill automata.

    Cid
    Spoiler
    Show

The leader of the Al-Bhed, Cid learnt a lot during the last appearance of Sin, and won’t be making the mistake of trying to protect Summoner Yuna a second time, she’s proven herself more than capable of looking after herself. Instead Cid will keep his fellow Al-Bhed fully updated on any reconnaissance he manages to find out.

When a player successfully defeats a random encounter, Cid will learn of that players general loyalty (Spiran, Remnant. or Kuja), though not their exact role.

Cid scans as Al-Bhed, and can kill two random encounters.

    Brother
    Spoiler
    Show

Cid’s pilot, driver, salvage ship captain, and unofficial second-in-command, Brother is a man of few words and many talents. With the Salvage Ship badly damaged and so many injured crew, only Brother can make the repairs that will allow the Al-Bhed to escape Besaid and the Remnants immediate reach.

Every time a player loses against a random encounter, Brother can salvage their weapons and armour for repair material for the Salvage Ship. No matter how many repair materials are available to him (through Rikku’s automata, players losing against random encounters, and any other methods) Brother can only make one repair per night phase, saving the extra for nights where the random encounter has been defeated. Tidus and Sephiroth have particularly snazzy weapons, so they each give two lots of repair material if they are defeated by an encounter.

Brother can forgo his repairs on the ship for one night phase to craft a random item from the item list if he so chooses.

If Brother dies before the Salvage Ship is repaired then the Al-Bhed can no longer escape, instead they must try to survive until the Remnants have been defeated.

Brother scans as Al-Bhed, and can kill two random encounters.

    The Remnants (Wolves)
    Spoiler
    Show
Seperated from Jenova once more, the Remnants find themselves on an unfamiliar plant and Mother trapped and dead under the pounding waves. Fortunately Yuna has just the kind of special soul that can bring Jenova back once again, make the Remnants one with Mother, and give them yet another flaming comet to ride through the sky. All they need to do is find her and kill her.

All Remnants begin the game in contact with each other, except for Kuja, who starts the game blind.

    Sephiroth (Alpha)
    Spoiler
    Show

Sephiroth, the One Winged Angel, Jenova’s favourite son and destroyer of worlds. If he’d have left anyone alive to tell of his atrocities the whole galaxy would fear his name. Calm and confident, Sephiroth must bolster his brother’s wavering resolve and hunt down Yuna, the special soul needed to bring Jenova back once more. Victory is already assured in Sephiroth’s mind; it’s just a matter of time.

Sephiroth scans as a Spiran Civilian. He can kill five random encounters.

If Yuna is killed. Sephiroth gains a number of more powerful abilities through manipulation of her soul. He gains a personal night kill that can be used every night at a 50% success rate, and a void action each night too. The immense power of the soul stops Sephiroth from hiding in plain sight though, so from Yuna’s death onwards he scans as Sephiroth, rather than a Spiran Civilian.

    Kadaj (Trickster)
    Spoiler
    Show

The one-time leader of the original Remnant trio, Kadaj has found himself playing second fiddle to Sephiroth since his rebirth. It frustrates the Remnant, but second billing does have its benefits. The people of Spira will be too wary of Sephiroth’s presence to notice Kadaj’s blade and tricks working in the background. Kadaj is a master of sowing chaos and confusion, and has a number of abilities at his disposal.

On any particular night phase he can use one of the following abilities:

Scavenge – If a random encounter was defeated in the day phase, Kadaj can try to scavenge an item from the body. The chance of stealing and type of item will depend on the encounter.
Weapon Morph – Kadaj can pick a target to have the type of encounters they can defeat randomised, and the new selection will be permanent, unless Kadaj targets the same player again. The target will not be made aware that they have been targeted, or what their new defeatable encounters are.
Disguise – Kadaj can disguise a target as any role, including himself. The effect lasts for that night phase and the following day phase only.
Hamstring – Kadaj can pick a target to permanently reduce the number of random encounters they can defeat by one. The target will be notified, and Kadaj can only target each player once with this ability.

There are no recharge times on any of Kadaj’s abilities, and he can use the same ability on consecutive nights if he wishes. The only limit is one ability per night phase.

Kadaj scans as Kadaj. He can kill three random encounters.

    Yazoo (Devil)
    Spoiler
    Show

The frailest and most introverted of all the Remnants, Yazoo prefers the cautious considered approach to his brother’s high impact actions. Mother’s most recent demise has hit Yazoo hard, forcing him even further into his shell. Still, both his materia-powered pistol and innate second-sight are as keen as ever to contribute to the violence and chaos a soul hunt always brings.

Yazoo can scan one target every night phase to determine their role. A scan on Lulu or Kimarhi will give an uncertain Lulu/Kimarhi result. Yazoo scans as Yazoo. He can kill two random encounters.

    Loz (Beast)
    Spoiler
    Show

Loz doesn’t say much, he prefers his immense physique and materia-driven piston gauntlet do the talking. Distraught at Mother’s current plight, Loz will follow his brothers anywhere and do anything to bring Jenova up from the bottom of the ocean.

If Loz is lynched or night-killed, he will take someone out with him. This target will be randomly selected from any players that were responsible for his death. Loz scans as Loz. He can kill four random encounters.

    Kuja (Lone Wolf)
    Spoiler
    Show

Separated from the others when Jenova’s comet hit Spira, Kuja has holed up in the forests just outside Besaid to plot his next move. He won’t take action until he knows his brothers still live, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t a dangerous psychopath.

Kuja begins the game separated from the Remnants, and has a nightly scry action that is used only to seek out Remnants and get him into contact with his adopted brethren. Yazoo’s scan put Kuja into contact with the Remnants, as can a kill attempt. Once he has been found Kuja loses his limited scan. Essentially he is a sleeping wolf who’s knows what he is, and is eager to get in contact with his fellow wolves.

Kuja scans as Kuja, and can kill three random encounters.

    Victory Conditions
    Spoiler
    Show
Spirans – Win when there are no Remnants remaining. They score a complete victory if Yuna survives.

Al-Bhed – Win when they make a total of 10 repairs to the Salvage Ship. They can then choose to leave the game, or carry on to try and score a complete victory, which occurs if they survive until the end of the game along with Yuna (It doesn’t matter whether the Spirans win or lose, just that one Al-Bhed and Yuna survive until the end). If they choose to leave the game continues without them, but they cannot then score a complete victory even if Yuna survives.

Remnants – Win when they match the number of remaining Spirans. They score a complete victory is they have managed to kill Yuna and bring Jenova back from the bottom of the ocean.

Gouge away my friends, gouge away!

Ooh, absolutely. I am always willing to bring another brilliant mind into the fold and see what creative genius erupts.

Plus, I enjoy sharing spreadsheets with my "number magic" that helps keep games running smooth If any budding narrator want help in building a google spreadsheet to keep track of points/actions/their game - I am more then happy to help. I'm quite proud of my point counter sheet - which counts the number of points made on any player for each day and will let you know who should be lynched with relative ease.

I will also be looking for a co-narrator for when Ye Olde West starts in a few months. A knowledge of cowboys or spaghetti westerns is a plus, but never a neccesity.

I do too, which is why I thought I'd post the rules early in case I was already stacking the deck to much in the Villagers or Remnants favour. If the Remnants win any more games they'll be closing in on the NFL playoffs won't they?

Recruiting is definitely out, so that's why the bad guys start with four powerful roles, and another one to find. We'll see once the game starts whether I've actually balanced an Advent Children game for once.

Banjo - I like it. Can't speak to balance though. No good at judging that until it's too late.

With people able to face so many random encounters each won't the game take forever to kill anyone? Or is multiple per day more the norm after a while? Maybe I should read some of the older threads to get a better idea

It's not really been a big issue in previous games, and I've put the amount of possible encounters up from 8 to 10. That means most players will only be able to defeat 1/5th of the encounters that come out to play, while a few of teh power roles will fair slightly better. Surviving random encounters has been a sure-fire way to get bandwagoned the day after if previous games are anything to go by.

As for the old threads, the first two give a good idea of how the game works, while the last one explains why Kuja is wandering around with the Remnants...that's about all ACIII is good for though.
