NUGSS audition was good. I didn't get particularly nervous about it, since I know all the relevant people, and my cold or whatever it is hadn't hit me in full force yet.
Although the revelations of what parts people actually want and auditioned for has totally thrown off my hypothetical male casting, so I'm really uncertain who will be who.

For those among you who don't know Britlander university qualifications:

An undergraduate degree is called a Bachelors. It comes in BA, BSc and some other weird ones.
All undergraduate degrees comes in levels. From worst to best:
    Pass
    Third Class
    2:2
    2:1
    First Class
Getting a first is really good. A third is okay. generally if one wants to go on to do a Master's degree the applicant must have a 2:1. I think some palces might admit a 2:2.

There seems to be several schools of thought regarding this interpretation. Some believe the rhyme has implications to the bubonic plague. However, interpreters of the rhyme before World War II make no mention of this. The symptoms also do not fit especially well with the bubonic plague.
It is an incredibly ancient rhyme, with many iterations, and is suitable for all occasions where mass death has been wrecked upon humanity and the land.

    Ring around the rosey,
Black marks on neck from plague
    A pocketful of posies.
Posies kept in pockets to ward off plague
    ashes, ashes.
    Burn the bodies
    We all fall down.
    Death

That's just the interpretation I heard. You seem more knowledgeable on the subject that I am though.

I think that interpretation might actually be an urban legend; however, I also think it will undoubtedly have some association with the black death; though the association would be coincidental only.

Ring around the rosies may also be referring to an actual ring of posies, or may even have no hidden meaning.

We can only conclude children's nursery rhymes are creepy.

Simply stating "According to Wikipedia" or providing a link would suffice. Citing is good for two reasons, it allows a person to trace the source themselves to do further research or verify the validity of the statement for themselves, and it gives credit to the source.

You provided a near word for word copy of the Wikipedia article, even if you had put it entirely in your own words, you really should have cited where you got your information from.

Will you be encompassing many people in your request? Surely a lot of people, perhaps even the majority, will be citing sans source.

Should I be citing the rhyme too?
Should you be citing when you also "copy" from the original source?

If you're copying something verbatim, you need to be careful not to violate copyright, but should cite your sources if known (especially when you only just looked it up). This is easy if you have only just looked it up, but harder if it is something you learned ages ago. In academia, it is not suitable to state "I heard this years ago", but in casual conversation, you sometimes do not remember where you gained that knowledge.

I was not quoting a source in that post. However I can find you a reference to verify the validity of that statement:

    http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/apron
    Origin:
1275–1325; 1925–30 for def. 6; 1900–05 for def. 8; ME napron (by later misconstruing a napron as an apron ) < MF naperon, equiv. to nape tablecloth (< L mappa napkin; cf. map) + -ron dim. suffix

    and
[C16: mistaken division (as if an apron ) of earlier a napron, from Old French naperon a little cloth, from nape cloth, from Latin mappa napkin]

My point was that you didn't include it (a citation/link/acknowledgment et al) in your original post, there are also other posts which you and others have not provided citations for.

No citation was necessary because I was not citing an article.
