    Thrand manages to sink his axe into the Devils shoulder. Janick steps up and the Devil is layed low by his thrusting spear, with his powerful thrust he is able to gut the thing from an already open wound, the Devil falling down in a pile of disgusting smelling flesh.

    Ford finally cuts through the Fighters defenses to great effect, the Sahaguin feeling his falchion bite into him twice, and he now bleeds from the viscous wounds.

    Fengrs claws sink into the Priest, who bleeds from both arrows and the marks of the totemist.

    The Sahaguin priest steps back and mutters an incantation, and his wounds close some amount, and then he screams out.

    Seeing that the devil was taken down by Thrand's mighty blows, Wulfgar is filled with an sense of retribution for his fallen comrades that perished in their earlier attempt to search the dungeon. Readying his bow again at the fleeing priest, he lets fly a hail of arrows at the priest's back.

    Korack's chanting grows fast and steady as he weaves his arms once more in front of him. The green light of spirits seems to cascade down his body, casting jade reflections on the walls.

    Seeing that the priest tries to retreat the bloody warrior grins and his posture changes to that similar to a stalking predator. With a few fluid steps he closes the gap to the spellcaster and as he strikes out against the enemy there is no joy in his smile, only death.

    Thrands Axe lays the final Sahaguin low after Ford cleaves into the fighter, ending his threat as well. The halls are quiet, and a summary inspection reveals that any Sahaguin remaining must have fled.

    There is little in either room though the Sahaguin did have some items of interest on their person.

    Wulfgar is able to identify the eapons enchantments with the bardic knowledge skill, which he succeeded at.

    Before the party stands the entrance to King Ragthorns vault. Two large double doors with lion headed handles stand before the party, a small crumbling hole brings light into the ceiling from the surface.

    On either side are two Inscribed runes, from a language unique to the time of King Ragthorn. This is probably why the Sahaguin failed to open the vault.

The legendary vault could only be opened by One with the Kings Might, His captain of the Guards Strength, His Spiritual Advisors Wisdom, and his court Mages Power.

    When the realization that there are no more enemies present hit the group Fengr relaxes for the first time since they descended the stairs. The warrior lets out a sigh and his extra pair of arms fall down to his side and hang limp, showing the exhaustion that the man doesn't allow to spread to his face.

    Scoffing lightly at the weapons that their opponents left behind them and slightly flexing his claws to show what he thinks of such manufactured things he moves over to the doors and stands next to Wulfgar and Ford.

    The Priest's scaly body lying in a heap, Wulfgar leads the party to the vault doors. Once in front of them, Wulfgar starts to explain the legend of King Ragthorn and what the runes mean...

    "King Ragthorn was a man with many loyal followers and it is said that he couldn't of ruled his expansive kingdom without the guidance and advice of his three closest confidants abilities; his Captain of the Guard's Strength, his Spiritual Leader's Wisdom, and his Court Mage's Power. With these and the King's own Might, the way to his vast riches will open before those present."

    Wulfgar points at each rune as he describes attribute; Top Right for Strength, Bottom Right for Might, Top Left for Wisdom, and Bottom Left for Power.

    Bardic Knowledge Success: Doors like this were created around the Kingdoms of Nelgaard and Fangoren by priests and druids of great renown. They require unique criteria to open them, and the subject meeting these criteria must place their palm against the rune. Once all runes are activated the door will unlock.

    Looking over the runes more closely, Wulfgar reasons out the method of activation and relates it to Thrand.

    "You need only place your palm upon the rune for it to be activated. Once all the runes are active, the doors should open and reveal the treasure for which we have all fought so gallently!"

    As Wulfgar presses his hand to the last rune the doors begin to shift, and push outwards. The crack that opens between them floods with light, and the lion headed door handles are easy to pull now.

    When grasped the doors are able to be pulled wide open, and there they stay. Inside is a grand walled room, the middle of it graced by a pedestal. Upon it there floats a golden gem stone in the middle of a great swirling gout of flame. It heats the room to a balmy temperature, but nothing nearby burns. There are two chests, one on either side of the room that still posses riches. There are six other chests open and empty.

    Ford gazes at the gem in the center of the room. "It warms the room like a hearth!" He warms his hands over the gem, but does not dare to touch it.

    "Wulfgar, I know we just met ye but I gotta say, you fought good for havin' such a nasty hole in yer chest. Ye can read and ye can understand that magic type stuff, so I don't suppos'n ye want to help us get this thing where it needs ta get?"

    While removing his pack and searching through it for the flask they were given Fengr listens to Fords question.
    "Indeed, this mission has proved that we need more than just warriors to succeed. It would be an honor to travel alongside such a brave warrior as yourself."
    He unwraps the flask from a piece of cloth that he's been using to make sure that it wouldn't break. The totemist removes the stopper and steps closer to the magical fire holding the container in front of him, like a shield.
    "I hope by Tyr that Jordmundjr was right." He says and throws a grin to the rest of the group.

    As Fengr uncorks the Flask he can feel great potential within it, as if it was attempting to draw in any nearby power. Soon it would heat in his hands, and the flaring fire around the Gem in the middle of the room grows brighter for a moment, and the gem begins to move. At first it twitches, and jolts, shaking from side to side then begins to spin.

    The spinning gem radiates with a bit more intense heat, and finally it is lost inside of the inferno on the pedestal. In a rather shocking turn of events the Fire then rises up in a near tornado like fashion and then rises up until the beginning of the cone shaped whirling gout of flame is barely touching the spinning gem. Then, it is seemingly pulled by the draw of the container Fengr holds, and that swirling vortex is slowly eaten up by the Flask.

    Once inside the Flask seems rather unstable, but Fengrs instincts tell him to cap the flask, and with that the essence is trapped inside. The flask now glows with the brightness of a Sunrod (60 feet of illumination) and is warm to the touch but will not burn anything it touches.

    The gem has been reduced to a dull glow, but as the minutes wear on while treasure is divided, it slowly begins to regain its brightness, and soon flames lick around its edges. Indeed it is a powerful force that you have recovered for Jordmunjr, even if it was only a fraction of what the Essence of Fire could unleash.

    Awe-struck by both Ford's and Fengr's offers to join their adventuring party, Wulfgar is struck with a deep pang of melencholy for his fallen comrades. Holding a hand to the still seeping wound in his chest, Wulfgar replies,

    "Thank you for your compliments and offers, but first I must return to Grensfel and give the news of my former adventurers' passing to their loved ones. Once that has been done, I would greatly appreciate more exciting ventures with you mighty warriors!"

    Weighing the flask in his hand, as if trying to estimate the amount of power held therein Fengr turns away from the fiery altar.
    "I think we all can safely say that we got what we came for. I have no desire to remain so close to such powerful magics any longer than needed. Let's gather these treasures and head back to the surface."
    Looking at Wulfgar he smiles.
    "It honors you to think of your fallen companions first, perhaps we can stop by at Grensfel before continuing to Jordmundjr?"
    With that said the warrior starts to collect the treasure they've found. An extraordinary piece of armor catches his eye, its leather and metal heavily infused with magic. Holding it he can feel a warm, soothing heat emanating from the suit and he understands what what Wulfgar said was true, this armor was made to combat foes of winter and cold.
    "Unless someone objects I'd like to claim this piece for myself. The rest you can share, I have no need for weapons, and the various talismans of power I think is better used by others."

    The treasure that is not already claimed is easily housed inside the chest most of it was found in, and a search of the remaining rooms finds that the place is empty.

    Once back outside the carcass of the beast in the courtyard is being pecked at by a few birds. They scatter when they hear you, and Thrand gets to work making a signal fire so the boat will come back to the island.

    In only a little over an hour the boat is sighted, and soon a smaller boat set to come ashore for the party. It is a short trip back to Dagothar, and the crew seems both surprised, and happy to see you back.

    The captain comes to the deck to address the party, his face grim.

    "Glad to have you back lads. That druid, Fafnal has come to direct you upon your course once you're back to town. He said Grensfel is under siege, and High druid Tehjnar has bade him to get you boys armed and up to the front."
