Re: [Steam] Thread XVII: /sm_rename "Steam Thread": da]mexitt hr[a vise
I heard the same thing. I heard that they totally screwed up the economy. However, I also heard that the latest patch fixed that problem.
EDIT: However, after reading wikipedia, there are a lot more other changes. The game looks, in general, much less cool. I won't be buying it.Last edited by Volatar; 2010-11-27 at 02:11 PM.

Oh ho ho it's funny because it's the spiritual successor to Total Annihilation which was amazing and I keep reading "the first one" as TA and I'm all "heck yes!!!!!!!"
Also it's funny because I'm implying Supreme Commander is bad. I've never even played it.BANG → !

Re: [Steam] Thread XVII: /sm_rename "Steam Thread": da]mexitt hr[a vise
I'm running windows 7. I tried restarting steam and that doesn't do anything. I couldn't find the Microsoft Games for Windows LIVE Redistributable" so I couldn't delete it.
I should note it only comes up with the xlive.dll error if I try and launch the demo from outside steam. When I try to launch it from steam it freezes at the preparing game for launch and steam stops responding. I've had the same problem with gratuitous space battles and the demo for Hegomony: Philip of Macedon. Other games (Men of War, Portal, Alien Swarm) are unaffected.

Re: [Steam] Thread XVII: /sm_rename "Steam Thread": da]mexitt hr[a vise
Supreme Commander 1 is better than the second but the second one is still a good game. They made changes in an effort to try and prevent the games from taking so damn long.
It's less cool because they took out some of those cool features to make the game less complex and move at a faster pace. $3.75 is worth it for the game.
Anyways, anyone have any of the games in the Indie Pulse pack besides Audiosurf? I'm probably going to get it because of BIT.TRIP BEAT and because I'm interested to see how all of these games compare to Audio Surf with my music.Last edited by watsyurname529; 2010-11-27 at 03:03 PM.

Don't play Beat Hazard. I'm warning you. It'll make your eyes bleed, or at the very least hurt.

Re: [Steam] Thread XVII: /sm_rename "Steam Thread": da]mexitt hr[a vise
L4D2 for $5 isn't bad, but most of us here probably already have it.
Red Faction: Guerrilla is a pretty good game, though Armageddon is coming out soon, so...
Today's CSS pack is a better deal than two days ago (Valve really needs to fix their marketing scheme... or maybe not).
TA is awesome, but nobody plays it anymore :/ I'd happily dig up my copy and play if I can find it again.
I like to build up a bit. Games shouldn't be about who can "rush" faster. A RTS really ought to be about who can actually strategize better. With that in mind...
Is Supreme Commander 2 worth the $3.75?Avatar by araveugnitsuga | Play by Post (Guide) | Steam

Re: [Steam] Thread XVII: /sm_rename "Steam Thread": da]mexitt hr[a vise
So, my stream is a-go. This will be an official test to see how much bandwidth it really takes up, since we found out where to access our download and upload records by day. (Incidentally, the major source was the weekend I had the house to myself and spent the whole damn weekend watching Heroes on Netflix. 25 gigs, there. I didn't know! *sob*)
Anyway, Matrix with Rifftrax here, at 6:30 EST! That's an hour and a half from now, for those across the pond.My PMV's! Youtube Channel

Re: [Steam] Thread XVII: /sm_rename "Steam Thread": da]mexitt hr[a vise
By faster paced SC2 still takes quite a bit of time to run a game. It's just not as ridiculously long as the first one.
Also, I possibly need some help. Did anyone else get Age of Empires 3 from Games for Windows Live?
I downloaded and installed it and it looked like everything went fine there except for when I hit play, it opens up the folder for AoE 3 and I have to manually find the launcher for each AoE game.
Is this normal or what?

Well, my school has a small league, and most games are done in under twenty minutes tops, so... (only the best players tend to go for anything longer than 35-40). The one exception was the game of fastest map perfected we played. Took us two and a half hours to fight it out.

Re: [Steam] Thread XVII: /sm_rename "Steam Thread": da]mexitt hr[a vise
I've been watching a fair ammount of competitive Stacraft 2 games recently and the early part of the games seem to not be so much a race to attack as early as you can but rather attempting to pull off a few quick stunts in order to grab some early advantages for the later parts of the game, if anything it deepens the strategic element to it.
No, its freakishly abnormal and weird and as a result you will be cruelly taunted for the rest of your life.
Nah, it was the same on my end, just create shortcuts of each launcher and put them on the desktop.Last edited by Jahkaivah; 2010-11-27 at 05:44 PM.

Mkay then. Glad to know it's not just me.
Aside from the launching issues I just now have, I don't see how GFWL sucks that much. I mean you can't compare it to Steam with all of it's community, etc. but still, I don't see why it's horrible.

I got the indie pack (even though I already owned Audiosurf and Beat Hazard, worth it for the others imo), Supreme Commander 2, and King's Bounty. I have bought many games in the last two days >:
