alright, i have my team set up to the best of my ability, ill be on the server tommorow, incase anyone want to challenge me, just for fun, i kinda need some practive to figure out how my team should be played.

Hmm. One thing I've noticed about the Client. If you load a team into the teambuilder, it always resets all your pokemon's ability to the default (top) ability. If you change them and save, they'll stay that way, but if you ever load them into the teambuilder again, they'll reset to their default values again. That'd certainly explain why I kept getting stuck with Battle Armor after changing it 3 times...

Okay, throwing my (non 2v2) Gym battle idea out there for you, then.

I shall run a "bug" gym, centred around statuses, being really annoying and occasionally packing surprises (flinch, flinch, sleep, flinch, poison, trick, flinch, surprise switching etc.). You might like to move me down to the position of first Gym leader and move everybody else up, as although my idea is likely to induce hair-pulling, I don't think it is a serious threat to any organised team.

Although I am concerned that my Gym may not be focused enough on a single type/concept/move to be considered a Gym...

Draft Roster:
Ambipom (Annoy, Lead?)
Jirachi (Annoy)
Togekiss (Annoy/Sweep?)
Porygon-Z (Annoy/Surprise!)
Gardevoir (Annoy)
Tyranitar (Annoy/Tank/Surprise!)

I'm looking for more options for Status-curing support and Roar/Whirlwind annoyance, though. Can anybody assist? Most of the pokemon in this roster are interchangable.

EDIT: Also, I haven't actually downloaded that battle simulator yet. Still in planning stages.

well, my team isnt a total loss, but it is kinda anoying to be wiped by a single pokemon using one move.

In your defense, a choice scarfed Machamp with all attack and speed ev's and dynamic punch against an all ice team is just a really bad match up.

So what you're saying is that every member of your team has some sort of status move along the lines of paralysis, burning, confusion, and Fake Out? Perhaps it could work, but just "general annoyance" doesn't seem a very fitting theme.

So what I'm thinking the level of difficulty should be for the gym leaders:

1-2 - Easy Enough that you can win if you try with most teams.
3-6 - Serious planning involved with a team, and you should be able to win.
7-8 - Tough enough to be competitive

Elite Four: Serious competitive

Does that make any sense and do you guys agree?

That works for me. On a side note, its a party on the server and your all invited. Right now, like a real super fun party... that you aren't at. And we might be having an impromptu gen 5 only tourny some time soon.

I don't think you need to set difficulties on the Gym Leaders, it's hard to measure, but try to use a system that determines that Elite 4 would be tougher than Gym Leaders.

One idea I really like is letting everyone use their "Elite 4 team" (the team they would have if they made E4) and having a Round Robin to decide the order.

Challengers are limited to 2 OU in battle at one time, but can have 3 in party.

Really? That beat an Ice team on its own? The Ice team should really pack a Weavile and a Mamoswine... an easy one-two knockout punch on Machamp, probably using Ice Punch and then Ice Shard. Max-speed Machamp still caps out at only 344 or so Speed, which Weavile can top with even a Neutral nature. Mamoswine is also faster than Machamp, so it could win out with a Scarfed Earthquake for near-OHKO damage, which could be enough if Abomasnow was used as some sort of suicide lead, especially if 'champ is running few if any defensive EVs.

I think our first priority is getting 12 competitors and picking out an Elite 4 through my idea. Then we're ready to start taking challengers. Come to the server sometimes will you?

In a battle on the server recently, I found out my theme is pretty much unplayable, especially if it is true that I cannot have an Uber (I thought 1 was allowed as a "trump card"), so I will need to either change theme, or switch from Leader Candidate to Challenger. Am I allowed to change theme?

Not necessarily status. I'm trying to fill in even more minor annoyances: Roar, the Trace ability, Fast switching, Choice-Trick, Weather effects, although yeah, I guess it mostly revolves around status.

Also, the theme isn't just general annoyance, it is "bug". A thin excuse to insert Porygon-Z, but that just makes for a good surprise.

^Mind explaining what "bug" is supposed to be then? For these theme teams we need to have a clearly defined theme. Yours doesn't seem very defined. Then again, it's Kelan's choice.
