The Afterlife (Campaign Setting, WIP,Please Revew Fluff)

Hello.This is the version of the afterlife used in my campaign,which makes large changes in the planes as a whole.
Later,I may post the rest of the world if it is needed. Allso, this is all fluff, with no stats given.
However, if someone wishes to make them, thank you.

For one, there are no gods,per say.Its not as if they dont fit in my afterlife,its that they are to powerful individualy to fit in my world. Ifthe PCs need gods,they can worship concepts instead, or other forces that are similer.

Allso, there ar not many plains, but few. In this case this part of the afterlife can best be discribed as the lawfull good part.However if the one who dies is within one step of lawfull good, than you go to this part of it regardless.

Finaly,many of the creatures I belive are unneeded, such as archens, have been removed. Rather, there are Angels,Devils,Demons,and the Aeons converted from pathfinder. However, this will deal mostly with the Angels, there nich in the afterlife, and all the changes made to them. All these changes made to the afterlife are not made because I am displeased with D&Ds version. Rather, it is to make it a viable adventuring area for all levels and to let pcs go into traditional off limits areas for adventuring, such as the Upper planes, and allowing pcs to experience more fun and adventure within such areas.

Spelling and grammer
Stats for the castes and for unique Angels.
The expansion of the varients for the groups and castes of angels and there stats.
The writeups for the other two plains in the afterlife.
Rewriting old stuff when needed.
Angels need alternitive names and ideas for mid ter angels not usually seen. I dont wish to steal names or ideas from the Gates of Heaven project,of which this project was inspired by.

Angelic Society And Worldview.

All angels in the of the afterlife have a caste and a individual who dominates them as there "boss" or master,depending on the individual in question.
All angels also have a duty given from creation, and are not given a choice in there occupation. However, as a angel goes from near emotionless angels to fully self aware and free thinking Dominions only when there lord wishes them to advance, or when a Angel of a higher rank the there lord wishes them to be under them. For example, if a angel shows bravery in combat but there own lord does not want them to ascend higher, then a angel ranked higher than said lord that takes a liking to the angel, such as Mikhail, Chief Angel of Battle, may ascend the angel to his command as a Dominion under him.

How ever, the number of angels that one can ascend higher/create are limited to there place on the hierarchie, which is described below.All angels know from there creation who created them, and know what angels created there masters and and where there creaters land on the. They cannot, however, use this ability on other angels, unless given prommision by that angels lord or a angel of greater power then the lord.

Angelic Politics mostly involves age old rivelries between groups of individuals. For instance, if angel 1 hates angel 2 due to say, a public humiliation such as proving themself smarter infront of Ba‘al Azabab, The Lord Of The Order Celestial Knowlage, than Angel 1 might blackmail Angel 2 to help him ascend to that of Principalitie, or else it would accuse Angel 2 of pride, which would expell him to the Gray. If Angel 1 does ascend to that of Principalitie, it would us that knowlage to gain good termes with Angels 2 creator, lest it tell angels 2 master of its so called 'sin' for the master would send it to the Grey without a thought.

The Angelic Castes

Creation
The creation of a Angel requires a willing angel of Dominion rank or higher. Few Dominons create Angels, how ever. Rather, The majority are created by the Principalities, for most dominions dont have the power or want to sustain the flegling angel, which takes the form of a small ball of light which hovers around its creator for more than 30 years until creating a fully formed, loyal angel. The amount of angels that can be made and sustained is equal to Angelic Rank times hit die.If a angel succefully creates a Angel,it loses hit die equal to that of the created angel.If the angel ascends to a higher rank,the hit die is gained back as the advanced Angel now has its own pool of celestial energy to pull on and create.

Angels are the least of the angelic casts. They are created by other angels of higher casts as servaters and messangers,and have no real will for themselves, being created to serve only there masters. Some planer sages even question a newly created angels anotomy, beliving that they are rather living extensions of its master will. In a way, this is true. Rather, a newly created angel IS a unthinking servent devoted to its lord,it eventualy gains experience in the beracracy of heaven and its experinces colors its worldveiw and it slowly forms a presonality over time. A angel that spends more time summend away,for example, will form a personallity far faster than one who spends all there time with there master and doing there will.

The Dead

When dead, ones soul will find themselves at the Pearly Gates, a massive set of silver gates that which all souls must past though in order to travel into the afterlife proper. In order to do that, one must be branded with a painless, unseen brand marking you as one who has come to the Pearly Gates and passed through them, marking you as dead. A living creature going through the gates that is branded will find themselves in indiscribable agony,and will find themselves shunned by the dead, becoming pahiras in the afterlife.If a soul passes though, they will find themselves in a realm controled by a Principalitie suting there actions in life. They are immortal unless there form is killed, obliterating the soul. A soul can only be raised if still at the Pearly Gates, for after going into the realm they where sent to, they will find all experences in the mortal plain pail in compared to the relam, and will refuse any atempts to be brought back to life. If a soul is forcibly by others, this state will wear of in 24 hours, but will be sent to Tarterus, The City Of Dammnation, regardless of alingment, when it dies the next,and will never be allowed to leave, regardless of objecton from any Angel save for a Seraph or higher.

Travel Notes: Any angel of living being,by focusing on one area of sufficent size for 10 minutes if living,10 seconds if angelic, can telaport to a area. This form of travel is limited to one-half your hit die if mortal, and by full hit die if angelic. The dead do not have this form of travel, and must walk the near infinte space between citys or areas, and if a dead entity forgets were they are heading, they soon steared into the Grey,regardless of its current position or place in the afterlife.

The Most Holy Acadamy Of Celestial Knowlage

The Most Holy Acadamy Of Celestial Knowlage is quite possibly the greatest depository of knowlage in the know universe, save for the Forgotten Palace Of The Lord Of The Grey. This has to do with not only the shear age of the acadamy, which streaches back to the formation of heaven itself. Nor does it have anything to do with the influence of the Lost Counsel Of The Angelic Order, its former controler and master. Rather, the Acadamy has intentienly alowed itself to spread itself amongest the cosmos, allowing itself to create a widespread network of informents. Not only that, but the acadamy also seacretly manipulates thousands of orginisations in the mortal world. The highest ranking angels of the Acadamy have also have come to the conclusion that the morltal races are non-good by default,and as such must be controled from birth, lest the mortl races be damned for all eternity. This is in open defience of the highest of heavenly law, and all of the angels,regardless of caste, would be thrown into the Grey.

Celestia. The city of heaven.The largest city in the afterlife,with more than half of all mortal souls deweling inside the city,to the point some mortal races belive celestia is the name of the afterlife,where all good souls spend there existance living like kings for all eternity.

However, this is a lie. Once a soul has passed through the Pearly Gates, one finds themselves inside the everlasting city,true. However, the soul will be mind-read by one of the Dominions under Raphael himself in order to find out which realm under the control of the Principalities to send the individual to. This forced teliportation may cause shock to the subject,but it will soon be inthralled in the pleasures of the realm and will forget any misgrevings it previesly had.
