The Guardians of Forever, the group of people from every metanormal discipline, protecting the timestream from meddling. They generally allow small things like our little plan here, for a steep fee. They used to work for the Terminals, the race of omnipotent gods residing at the end of time.

Spark a war between Mages and Geniuses? That's a good idea :p

Is Jack referring to "The World of Three Days Ago"? Because Lilly didn't say that IC.

That's what i was thinking. I can do the rolls if you want me to, but i thought we could either attribute it to the continued effect of the roll i made against Lily some time ago, or handwave the roll, considering the fact that it's a strictly roleplaying situation, Jack is picking up around one second's worth of thinking, and that the roll is 13 dice vs 4.

I don't see why not. An Automata Factory could churn one out in no time (takes a lot of Automata to make a human, but a fake corpse is arguably one dot + high Medicine)

We don't we just use the same corpse we found and stick it into a temporal loop?

The goal is to avoid paradoxes :) As the corpse loops through it's age will = n*x where n is the iterations of the loop and x is the time from us putting it back to us putting it back the next time.

Eventually it will fall apart then sometime in the future we're minding our own business when pop! out pasts changed to include us going to find a new corpse because the old one fell apart. We want to avoid our past changing under our feet as much as we can. (which isn't easy to avoid given how the timeline is on Hitler Clone number 6 now)

I'm confused - at this point in the narrative, have we actually travelled back in time or are just about to? King's raven seems to think the former...

You noticed the smiley right? If the corpse we found was already some sort of supernatural construct and thus immune to ageing?

That would, of course, create an ontological paradox(if the corpse we found were the same one that we go back and plant, who made the original fake corpse?)

Closed Timelike Curve. There is no real problem for them existing. If you accept independent beings such as God. They simply derive the reason for their existence from their own causal efficacy.

Well there's an easy way to disprove that: Lilly was a little rough on the body when she cut it down so it should have some mild physical damage, a few scrapes. Over infinite iterations of a temporal loop those scrapes should add up to total destruction.

So either it's immune to both age and physical damage or it's subject to decay through iterations. We can test this by shooting the body*.

    * Since Lilly is not a Stunnan she will be showing more respect for the dead. As far as she's concerned time travel is less about philosophy and more about saving a little girls life.

And Alrai things Lily is being petulant and unable to accept that her actions resulted in someone's death. Wouldn't it be nice if we could get around those unfortunate choices.

He also doesn't like Fey, but he isn't saying that.

Um Lilly's actions? It was (Ark?) who decided he wanted to study the present first. Lilly went off to deliver the medicine with a 9 self life ticking down. She saved a little kid's life that day and tonight she's going to do it again, hopefully.

I also disagree that "not being able to accept" is a fair criticism when you actually can go back and fix stuff.

But it isn't a sustainable way of life. You can't go back and fix everything. There aren't enough time machines or mania in the universe to get rid of everyone's regrets. This is like putting a bandaid on the stump of a severed arm. She is deluding herself with this instead of dealing with the real problem.

Then again, the real problem is the Abyss and the Exarchs so... yeah.

Why the focus on "every"? just because you can't save everyone is not reason not to save a few poeple. Every life is precious.

The real problem is the lack of the Terminals. We're in a pretty sweet time then right at the end of the universe it collapses. Bring back the Terminals and the universe itself has a happy ever after.

No, we are all dead. Playing with time is meaningless because you are still playing a zero sum game. The only reason for death and entropy is that the world is broken.

Your future is an empty one. It is the happiness of pigs and the death of vermin for all humanity.

No, for humanity it's ascension into post-singularity gods followed by voluntary extinction (cos nothing had the power to force them) or further ascension. There's a few trillion years before anyone has to really suffer from entropy.

Voluntary extinction is just death by a nicer name. The Supernal is so much more then that. The Supernal is perfect and infinite. If man could walk with open eyes as flesh within that endless heaven he should have what the faithful claim their own: Ever increasing, ever renewing, ever perfecting bliss. Each moment better then the last.

All the joy of all humanity through all of time pales before the Supernal.
