The meet-up was fun, for those who don't know we met up in San Rafael, California (that's in the Bay Area) at a gaming store called Gamescape. Had a lot of fun, it was great meeting everyone. We playing Munchkin, Apples to Apples, and the OotS Adventure Game (and I totally kicked ass at the first two, unfortunately we were unable to finish the OotS game due to time constraints).

Great, now I wish even more that I'd been able to go >.<

I wasn't aware that people could kick butt at apples to apples. But then again I've always played it by picking cards that pander to my dirty sense of humor and have nothing to do with how well they actually match up.

I've only heard of him cause I'm a history geek. He was a random U.S. general in WWII. He was in charge of the armoured push during Operation Market/Garden

Patton was NOT just a random general. He was the only officer in the US Army that the Germans were scared of. The reason we pulled off D-Day was that they believed it was a feint because Patton was still sitting in England with a bunch of dummies that had been painted up to look like an invasion force - they couldn't believe that anyone else would be trusted with the mission.

Said diversion I've heard of, but if he was so instrumental in its success why haven't I heard of him? I don't think you can attribute the success of the diversion to him.

Bwuh? Random general? The commanding general of the US 3rd Army, directly subordinate to only Eisenhower himself by the end of the war. Although, he's probably more famous for slapping his soldiers than he is for being a tactical genius.
