It was the last name that made me think it was an Angel. Bishop. I could EASILY be wrong, and that would make things make a bit more sense...

It's confusing. 'Ray'mond (as in light) and 'Bishop' seem to imply angel, but before I started considering name pun connotations I assumed he was a harpy like charlie because of his clothing style, particularly the aviator goggles.

As for the legality of Ink, I wouldn't doubt if there isn't some Ministry of Pages or something that enacts and enforces specific Laws for Pages, Whitebox Users, and Awakened Mortals.

Ministry of Pages, huh? And I wonder what magical adventure about supernaturally gifted humans living in secret in their own world right alongside oblivious 'normals' inspired that particular comment. After all, Ben obviously has nothing in common with a certain British kid with glasses and unique norm-challenging powers who's the son of a prominent crimefighter and an orphan who lives with his uncle. Clearly no resemblance at all.

'Spose it's too late to chip in on the punishment? I'll even cover book puns first so we're all on the same page! The same page apparently being in this case a harpy that's about to become an angel once Fong gets a hold of him, since he's finally done stalling and about to take wing (or wings). And that'll really solve the inky mystery of his Codex of origin, don't you think?
Hope you don't find me conDescending, it seems there's too much of that going around (or several rounds) as it is. That's my read of this page about this Page in this chapter about this particular Chapter of the Zero Union, anyway.

Something I realised: This inking harpy doesn't have to be the page Librarians went to collect. He got his power-boost just now and they felt something way earlier. Judging by the monologue from page 2, it's the first time, he tried Ink. The other possibility is, he was in that stall for a really long time.

Hmm...if you're right, that would interesting, and definitely something that could throw them for a loop, "oh we defeated the abyssal and OH GOD WHAT IS THIS OTHER ONE?"

I'm not necessarily convinced that the addiction + the crazy happen at the same time with ink (can't find the reference and need to go to bed) maybe they do, but I also would say that the first time he hears voices doesn't necessarily equate to the first time he's taken ink, nor is it necessarily manifested in the beginning of his descent.

Although I might just be blatantly wrong, and I kind of hope you're right; it'd be more fun that way.

I was refering to panel three on this page. Theese things are pretty powerful. I need to get more!
It kind of indicates, he's new to Ink.

It could also mean that this is a new variety of Ink that is even nastier than what he's used to. Remember that Roy went downhill extremely fast, after all.

Personally, I'm just hoping this doesn't go the Yu Yu Hakusho (manga) route, with the Angelic Codex (or some other powerful "good faction") being responsible for the Ink as a means to prove that their services are still required. If it does, I called it right here.

They've probably spent a lot of time here. And with developed senses as they've got, they probably can tell where the Descender is, correlate it to the map in their head, and then they know what room to find the problem in.

They may not even need the past experience. If they were mapping the place out as they searched and passed that washroom they could just be recalling from recent memory. Trickier to pinpoint, but not beyond the Rule of Cool.
