Re: Bibliography III
New page up!
From now on I think I'll just be using the Gaijinmanga upload system. It takes some of the pressure off my photobucket.

Re: Bibliography III
Hmm, this page seems to imply the Diabolic Codex or whatever it is that Devils/Demons belong to are just descended, or partially descended, Angels. As one poster here suggested as a possibility in I think it was the character contest.
I personally don't care for it. So far none of the different types of pages had an intrinsic morality assigned to them. Eve isn't the moon-mad monster that your average medieval peasant imagines upon hearing the word Werewolf. Neither was the Succubus in the Choose Your Own Adventure anything worse than a playful flirt. That doesn't mean members of these Codices couldn't be horrible monsters out of legend, they most certainly could. Though depending on what Lunar spells can do the Wolfman bit might require Abyssaldom; still they can certainly act like a monster. So I personally would be saddened if Demons/Devils, as well as Angels as some posters seem to think, had an intrinsic morality assigned to them.Avatar by Elagune

New page up!
The link is just http://bibliography.gaijinmanga.com/ everytime a new page is added, so just bookmark that and you're set!
As for the Holy Codex, I don't want to give away too much but it's definitely separate from the codex of demons. However, spells are not always unique, and two or more codices may have the same spell in their repertoire, although this isn't really common.

Re: Bibliography III
Angel is hyped up on ink, the steroid of pages. As for what happened to Fong, thats the mystery, isn't it.

Re: Bibliography III
Yay. Also very interesting. So I wonder then why the Angel having used the False Idol spell had anything to do with the kind of Ink kids are using these days? Or was that comment caused by something else? Anyway I definitely have to agree with Jupiter. What kind of Ink did this kid take? I don't remember Inked out Roy having that kind of muscle power, even after he became an Abyssal he wasn't flinging people around like that. And Roy was nowhere near as scrawny as this kid.
Also have we gotten a name on the Angel yet, it kind of tiresome to refer to him with pronouns only.Avatar by Elagune

Re: Bibliography III
I think it came from the fact that he seems to have fallen to level three instantly. Also if it is possible to use ink to accelerate the descent process does that means that it can be effected by certain chemicals (or magic potions but whatever)? So in theory an anti-ink drug that could slow or even halt the decent process should be possible.

Re: Bibliography III
Well yes, that makes sense. And was why I initially thought it was implying Demons were just descended Angels. My main tripping point was that he said it right after declaring the name of the spell with an exclamation point. So in my mind the two panels of dialog were conflated. However looking back on it they were fairly distinct what with the different panels and the ...s. For instance he could be referring to the Angel's physical speed which makes sense with the art and the dramatic increase in his other physical abilities the Ink seems to have given him.
As for chemicals to slow Descent. Anti-Depressants ho!Last edited by Sanguine; 2011-05-15 at 02:10 PM.

Re: Bibliography III
Ink's primary purpose is to boost the powers of its users, so presumably any drug that could reverse the process would limit its users powers. It would make sense for sealing someone's powers off would stop them descending completely, but there's no sign of anything in the setting which could do that so far.
It would definitely make for an interesting dynamic though.Awesome Iron Chef avatars by Neoseph7! Murkrow avatar of coolness by Introbulus!Spoiler

Re: Bibliography III
Sorry for the confusion I meant it should be logically possible, not that anyone knows how to do it right now. The logical vector to approach it on would be to isolate what ink actually does and work from there. Like creating an antidote from snake venom. Though learning stuff without engaging in experiments of dubious morality would be difficult.

Re: Bibliography III
I never said the process could be reversed I meant it could be slowed or effectively halted by regularly taking a medicine that would weaken your connection to the codex (and thus your powers). For example Eve's dad might have gotten three months instead of three weeks to spend with his family with my theoretical medication.

Reeeeal creepy. This page really nails how far off the deep end Ink takes you for me. Great work.
And it's page 49! Are we gonna vote for a witty thread title? Because we should vote for a witty thread title.Truth resists simplicity.

It's a Lonely Island song I'm performing in class, and I just needed some white space for 10char.
So, making sure I've got this, either he thought he died, or the Ink actually reanimated him?
