I thought the same thing. It is for this reason I suggest a 1% spell "failure" wherein the summoned object becomes a pot of Intelligent petunias.

I carve wooden replicas of swords and other weaponry, both historical and fantastic. Google "The Splintersmith" for my Facebook, YouTube, and Etsy pages.

A note: A "hoard" is a big pile of coins, usually with a dragon or high-level dwarf on top. A "horde" is a big pile of Orcs, usually with a dragon or a high-level dwarf on top. Thank you.

Reminds me of Avernum/Exile series and mage called X, always trying to create a spell dropping anvils on people

    Spoiler

his biggest problem was a steady source of anvils ;p

Next on my homebrew list, elemental plane of anvils.

This thing is getting so long that I'm considering making it a metamagic feat; bonus damage and grapple might be worth a +1 spell level.

I think this is a good idea.
I feel it would work smoother in general as a metamagic feat.
But my group of players have a few physics buffs who... well, do math at things, and then make them break.
Come with me, time out of mind...
