Why does the guy in the blue hood (yeah, I suck at names) always have the -expression? Based on his dialouge, it does't "sound" like he's scared or surprised or anything like that.
I won a thread. Am I pathetic to list that in my signture? Yes. Of course I am.

No, I mean, why does he always have that expression? Like in panel 3, when he's just looking at the guy with the fangs (who doesn't have the -expression)?

Re: Murphy's Law 5: To Comic 100...And Beyond!
I can't believe I didn't think of this sometime in the past few weeks...
The recent additions to the plot suggest that Team Gale will eventually have to go up against Kago, considering that we have been told that the Kago government is being particularly villainous.
You know how General Murphy was talking about needing a new Mage General? Well, it appears that we have two candidates. One is Alexis, the girl Lloyd likes. And the other appears to be one of his best friends.
Doesn't it stand that Lloyd might eventually end up in a fight with someone very close to him?Last edited by Alagaesian; 2010-11-30 at 06:28 AM.

Yeah, I think it's pretty much inevitable that Team Gale comes into conflict with Kago at some point. Enough emphasis has been put on the place that if they don't, I will be seriously disappointed.
...
Hold on, I just thought of something.
We never did see what was up with those ominous ruins a couple dozen strips back...
10 GP says it's a Chekhov's Gun and something very plot-important happens there.Last edited by Symmys; 2010-11-30 at 04:14 PM.

Now that we're really getting into the meat of the plot, I'm going to be much more conservative when answering questions. Sorry!

And you can count on getting absolutly nothing out of me. I've already betrayed Coffee twice on minor things and I am hell bent on not doing it a third time. So don't even try to let me slip something. I may just make something completly up for the heck of it. I have alot of non-canon things in this series bouncing around in my head that could easily be passed off as canon, as Coffee knows well enough.

Re: Murphy's Law 5: To Comic 100...And Beyond!
Meh, I'd actually be pretty disappointed to see anyone revealing any spoilers at this point. I mean, aren't plot twists infinitely more exciting when you don't already know that they're coming? If Coffee started posting up spoilers, it would feel like the Giant telling everyone how Belkar is going to die.
Yeah, being spoiled can satiate my curiosity, but where's the excitement in reading a couple lines of text, letting me find the answers to my question the easy way? It's much more fulfilling to find hints buried in the comic, make up speculations on my own, and then feel ecstatic/shocked when my theories are proven/jossed.
For instance, my prediction that the trap Matt stole from the bandits is a Chekov's Gun. Or that there is little way of Lloyd ever hooking up with Janine unless she gets over her orc problems.

Re: Murphy's Law 5: To Comic 100...And Beyond!
I think I've finished the first page of the cover comic I was working on. I'd planned to adapt comic #24 over four or five pages but for now this is the only one I've finished colouring and lettering. The speech bubbles are shoddy, I know, I'm still working on my technique.
Spoiler
Above is the reduced version, the text is a little (but not much) more readable on the original http://i1196.photobucket.com/albums/...rtfirsttry.jpg Either way the text is almost exactly the same as in Coffee's original bar the odd break and a missing word.
PS: Coffee and Lix; Don't know if it shows but I stretched Matt out a tiny bit in the first panel so maybe he doesn't look quite so stubby now. Also tried to round out his nose (which looks really odd in panel six).

Almost over? it about only 8 hours up for me, probably 11 for Coffee. The day's not even half way done, so be patient. If you are still impatient, I did just update Idiosyncrasy last night. You can read that while you wait.

Re: Murphy's Law 5: To Comic 100...And Beyond!
Thank you! I guess that means I have permission to post the rest of the pages for #24 when I've finished them then
CWater: the comic I posted was 100% made in GIMP because the software is free and it means I don't have to use the family scanner. Technique-wise, I colour every section by hand with the airbrush because I'm useless with the bucketfill and I did the colouring over 3 seperate layers, one for the background wash, one for the basic colours of the characters and the branch and one for shading/ highlights. Matt's freckles were done with a seperate special effect brush and I inked it with the G-pen from the plug-in linked to here: http://www.davidrevoy.com/?article32...h-gimp-painter. The artist there uses a flatting plug-in to colour his art work but I couldn't get it to work for me at all. The parts of GIMP Painter that did work are pretty neat extras though. Sorry if that was way more information than you needed!
Looking forward to #100 like everyone else (although I somehow managed to miss that the next update would by 100 until people mentioned it) but like most here would hate for Coffee to put herself under a lot of stress just to have it up today. Aside from real-life commitments, comic 100 might have a lot of extra details that take more time...

Edit: also this:
I guess the fact that I live in Scotland where the time zone's different and most of the local schools have been closed all week thanks to the snow makes the above harder to remember. Still, if Coffee does have problems with posting the comic later today she still shouldn't beat herself up about it.
