I'd also ask to be invited, but my knowledge of DnD is the equivalent of a ten minute crash-course someone gave me three years ago and a couple things I was able to glean off of OotS.

Yeesh. I know you might not have meant it that way (tone on the internet and all that) but that came over as more than a little rude. It's not like she owes anybody a comic or anybody's hired her to make and post them and even if that were the case other activities would still be allowed!
My best guess is you were just looking for an excuse to be the one to write post 666 or, if I'm being more generous, that you were just being sarcastic and that's your particular sense of humour but still... possibly a little inhibitive?

    Eek!

All right, I think the idea of Lloyd as campaign villain is a hit. Um, I did say "someday" though...it's Final Exams season at work, which isn't an ideal time for me to launch a new campaign...

How 'bout this? When Coffee decides to release the world as a game setting -- or when the strip has advanced to the point where we can extrapolate, and Coffee gives the OK -- then I'll run an alternate-timeline scenario; of course you are all invited. The PCs can be Plavaan (or other dissident) resistance fighters against the brutal Kago Empire and its merciless Paladin-General, Lloyd.

    We'll call it "Auster's Law".

Of course, if anyone wants to run with the idea before then, please be my guest. It's really Coffee's idea anyway (by telling us that Lloyd could easily have "snapped the wrong way"), not mine...

Okay, I can wait! And I'll give you the details about the world. And what's Camelot got to do with this? And can we please get back on topic?

As for "snapping the wrong way," well...Take Lloyd's (And Murphy's!) noble ideas of justice and righteousness and helping the people of the much-less-powerful-now-than-it-was-many-decades-ago Kagoan Empire survive.

Now take these ideals and twist and maim and pervert them practically beyond recognition.

2000 AD is a comic. There was a series called Nemesis the Warlock. The villain was called Torquemanda. I thought of this before the historical Torquey.

See, Worlok, we've been trying to decide how to break it to you. Everyone else had figured out that all human history was faked on a soundstage, a project that started in August 2006. If you think you remember anything before that...well, some people are just gullible that way.

We kept playing along because you hadn't caught on yet, but now that the cat's out of the bag, we can drop this whole "human history" thing, and work on another project. Sapient penguin history, maybe?

    That's why we have punctuation.

Mindblowing revelations aside (also, I'm tempted to do an archive binge of xkcd, now), this campaign idea sounds fun. Count me in if you don't have too many people already.
