A DM's Nightmare: Featuring the worst art you have ever seen!
This is a comic I started making for some friends loosely based around a D&D campaign we had. The operative term, of course, being "loosely." And yeah, I know the art is terrible.

... Wow... That's the name you came up with for (CENSORED)? I doubt he'd like that...
Just for the record, I'm Jack. Also, I was a half-elf because I wanted to be an elf without the minus to constitution.
... I was going to clarify something right here, but anything else and nerd would probably yell at me.Last edited by Drakonzeta; 2010-11-16 at 03:34 PM.
Please do not call me drak. It irritates me.

Maybe we should put a memory charm over the non-comic portion of the thread, so if I let it slip that "Stephen" was just relatively unsure of what he was saying so it sounded like he was hitting on the girl....

Re: A DM's Nightmare: Featuring the worst art you have ever seen!
I can think of a reason or two why...
First and foremost, your artwork. It's pretty basic, like the kind I'd expect from a pre-teen, the only thing separating it from them is the smoothness of the lines (due mostly to Inkscape I'll wager).
Whilst it's based on an RL campaign, the writing is also uninspired and lackluster. As a campaign it may well be entertaining but as this comic...less so I'm afraid.

Re: A DM's Nightmare: Featuring the worst art you have ever seen!
I only have two applications which are capable of working with art: PowerPoint and Fireworks. Fireworks is more advanced, and I'd be able to bring my art up to OotS-level, but it lacks speech bubbles, so... What I could do is create the characters in Fireworks and then arrange everything in Powerpoint, but if you do that you end up getting a sort of white outline around the characters, which is just noticeable enough to be extremely annoying.
Whilst it's based on an RL campaign, the writing is also uninspired and lackluster. As a campaign it may well be entertaining but as this comic...less so I'm afraid.
And by the way: Since I can work on multiple strips in a short time, I won't announce when strips are up or keep a "current strip" spoiler. You'll just have to check the archives periodically.Last edited by nerd-7i+42e; 2010-11-17 at 01:58 PM.

I find it humourous enough, and not too overdone.
I'll read on, for a bit.Dr, Bath's Dolly!

Re: A DM's Nightmare: Featuring the worst art you have ever seen!
Well, I came here for the worst art ever, and all I see is cardboard cut-out's of stick figures. If you want to have the worst art ever, you should definately try drawing with the pencil tool, freeform. Also, less copy-pasting stuff found with Google, more stuff drawn by you.
As for the writing...meh, nothing out of the ordinary. Which is a bad thing because I was expecting some originality in here, something that doesn't happen in an average D&D campaign.**** Photobucket ; RIP avatars
