Re: The CHALLENGE continues!
Happy new year, people! Time for a late status!
Glass Mouse passes with a comic worth four pieces, and 11,583 words of novel.
Lil Shiro didn't upload anything.
Lazy Genius didn't upload anything.
Shadowy Silence passes with 6 (mostly dramatic) poems, an avatar, and a logo.
Thus, Lil Shiro and Lazy Genius FAIL this round!

PHEW! Sneaking this in between exams. I actually have no idea where I find the time to do CHALLENGE pieces. I think it's just that deeply ingrained in me by now XD
Also, I know I'm way way WAY behind on prizes. Time and general workload become an issue when I can't just sneak in flashes of inspiration in between other obligations, but have to actually sit down and think about it. I'm sorry. Getting to it as soon as possible.

@Shadow: Children? Ahhh! They're impossible to draw well! Oh well, it's good practise!
@Lil Shiro: Yes, but... uh... erh... it was early Tuesday? So you might've started already? Right? Or... something?

Re: The CHALLENGE continues!
Rules questions from someone considering joining:
What constitutes a single work? If I write 6 chapters of a 12-chapter novella, is that 6 works or half a work?
Does game-mechanics homebrew constitute creativity? Creating DnD characters, builds, or adventures? How about designing a game system?Last edited by Reltzik; 2012-01-06 at 01:41 PM.

Re: The CHALLENGE continues!
Oops, I utterly and completely forgot about that! Going ahead and doing it right now.
Reltzik, Lil Shiro's got it right, it's 250 words for any kind of writing. The opening post has more details on everything right... about... now
But if you feel some "piece" definitions are weird or not covered, feel free to point it out and suggest something better (I know game systems aren't specifically covered). The very, very rough point of reference is a minimum of 20-30 minutes pr piece.Spoiler

Consider me in for next week. I want to start writing again and figure this would be a great way to get back in the habit of writing every day.

@icastflare!: Yay, welcome to the Challenge. I've been using it to up my own writing since November, and I've found that if I just sit down, I get carried away and easily exceed whatever amount I needed

I'll make a thread once I have something to put up. I figure just sitting down and actually getting in a writing mood will be the hard part. Past that, it shouldnt be a problem.

Re: The CHALLENGE continues!
We go strictly by the list of participants. It was just coincidence that your name was next in line
Nice theme, too. I'm probably gonna do something writing-related with it.
Glad to hear writing is treating you well! I'll have a look at your thread sometime later today.
No pressure. The themes are meant as inspiration, but not needed to pass.

Re: The CHALLENGE continues!
I think I shall enter this properly. My entries each week will just be a page covered in random sketching, and shoddy basic sketching. Hopefully, in time, this will proceed to sketches of actual / larger things, maybe even people, and proceed in time from that to somewhat I would happily call art. That's the plan anyway! I've set up a new system of goals for myself, and it will likely include easily six pages, front and back, of random sketching (also more learning music, and more writing!). I ought to have a photo of a mess of random sketching up this weekend.
Edit: actually I'm not sure I should / can! These aren't proper works so much as "I have no idea how to do draw anything: today let's cover a page with shapes and experiment with shadows." So, '(no doodles or unfinished pieces)' probably suggests I oughtn't actually do this just yet. Not until my pages are actual pieces rather than experimenting with no goals but practice. Perhaps I'll be back in a few months.Last edited by Icewalker; 2012-01-12 at 03:29 AM.

Re: The CHALLENGE continues!
I think I'd like to do this too, actually! Although I think my main problem will be getting to a scanner...
Also, do shrinkydinks count as a 'work'? If so, how many? :3
I will probably PM you a list of links to my weekly works, because I try not to double-post things.
