Yea, I think picking to start this the same week as finals just finished maybe wasn't the smartest idea.

The theme I choose, barely relatedly, is Thought.
Thanks goes to Vampire Pumpkin for my awesome avatar!

"My shows involve a fair bit of movement, so I keep in shape, yes," Lilium answers quietly, showing no sign of letting go of their friend just yet, apparently not entirely confident that Wren is okay, despite her protestations to that effect. "I wouldn't exactly say I work out, though... And stop beating yourself up, bella amica," they go on gently, having noticed her slumping somewhat, plainly downcast and embarrassed... At least to one who observed her as closely as Lilium, which, admittedly, is likely very few other than the immortal.

Glancing up at the librarian, they shook reluctantly nodded, gently brushing the hair that they'd knocked into Wren's face when checking her for injuries out of her eyes, smiling softly down at her as they did.

"I suppose, mia sorella... Wouldn't want to get you into trouble, after all," she whispers back, going to head over to the fallen volume with Wren, one arm still wrapped protectively around her, keeping an eye on the librarian as they go, clearly ready to interpose herself if he tries to cause problems for the mortal about it.

(('Bella amica' is 'beautiful friend', while 'mia sorella' is 'my sister'.))

Talia slid to a halt next to Acacia when she fell, barely stopping herself from running over her friend, and crouched next to her, plainly rather upset as well, to judge by the look on her face, and the fact that she was shaking somewhat.

A moment later, she hesitantly reached out to gently lay a hand on the Apple's shoulder, then, a moment later, if nothing prevented her from touching the other girl, went to softly wrap her arms around her, hot tears, even warmer than those of a normal person, steaming slightly in the cool air, running down her face, and onto Acacia's neck.

Talia was, when her friend dove into her, nearly knocked to the ground, for Acacia was hardly small, and, while she wasn't either, she still couldn't simply discount that much weight shoving her. But, fortunately, she also had extraordinary balance, gained from years of using gastubes, so, after a momentary rocking, she pulled the Apple tightly against her, gently going to rub her friend's back as she did.

"You're safe, sis," she whispered softly, head resting on the other girl's shoulder, and turned so that her lips were nearly brushing Acacia's ear. "If you could never hurt me, then I couldn't ever harm you, either; the only time I would do so would be if it were the only way to keep the rest of my family safe, and since to harm them would cause me pain as well, that is something that will never come to pass."

"That would probably be best," he agreed quietly, stepping forward with the elf as the doors silently slid open, into a plain white room, which, taking its form from his mind, quickly shifted, walls turning to open space, a small clearing deep within a forest, branches interlocking to form a natural ceiling high above their heads, with a bright bonfire at the heart of it. "Now, I believe that we were planning a dance, yes?"

Quick watched as the fae known as Dorchadas was taken out to Dun Gol, the Hill of Bones, where the dark elves once lived, locked in copper chains. The decision had been made, finally, and he was the one who would die.

But then, as the silver knife touched his throat, his form shifted, becoming a Geisthound, slipping through his bonds without difficulty, the blade of the who had been guarding him having much the same effect as it might if he had tried to kill a patch of mist with it.

When he reached Quick, however, his teeth were solid enough to easily tear out the Fae's throat, his reactions, sadly, having been too fast to catch the beast after it became solid again.

It then turned its attention to the drunkard standing nearby, bringing him down with a quick bite to the back of his leg, then gutting him, his reactions too slowed to allow him a chance to fight back.

    Flicker.

The creature darted towards the drunkard standing nearby, only to find its path blocked by a glowing sword, and one of its legs removed at the knee by the same blade, used in a draw cut by a strange elf, bone-pale, with hollow, empty, eyes.

That was the last thing it found, though. The elf drove the sword through its skull even as it started to turn to fight him, then vanished, taking the corpse with him.

His opponent, an androgyne, with hair dyed a metallic violet, so dark as to be almost black, wearing what seems to be a black silk shirt and pants of the same material, with a white leather jacket, the back of which bears an expertly done phoenix, simply shrugs, a cathedral, once elaborate, though now desecrated, and rotting rather thoroughly, appearing behind them.

"My apologies!", they reply, laughing softly. "I was rather occupied with my master a moment ago..."

With that, they pull a hook-bladed knife, almost too fast to see, and slash it across their palm, the blood that flows onto the temple steps writhing into strange sigils as it falls, shortly followed by a pair of patchwork zombies flitting in through a tear in reality.

"Well? Will bleeding to the Nightrose's thorns suffice to keep you amused?"

"Trust me, things will be more interesting in a moment... And I would take care that your vampire does not find the blood of so many to be more than it can handle," Lilium says quietly, sitting down on the steps, and idly tracing a series of sigils around their feet with the strange, overly thick, almost black, blood that oozes from the bite.

"Be sure to thank him for me," they reply, shrugging. "And on behalf of those I feed on, of course. There are so few nowadays who appreciate blood like mine..."

The new wounds they sustained heal surprisingly quickly, odd bony plates forming in place of the missing flesh, and bridging the rents in their body even where none was actually removed.

"You would use that one on me, little ghost?", they inquire softly, a hard edge entering their voice, when the new devil enters the field. "He is not worthy.

Get back to your pit, Iaen!"

As they speak, they bring their blade across their left wrist, using the sacrifice as power, to compel the creature to break its summoning.

That done, the wound seals itself as the others did, and the androgyne hisses a sibilant, liquid-sounding, incant, which floods the area around Red Spectre, quickly reducing much of the flames to clinging ash.

A dark valley, overcast, sky pouring rain. Not a place most would wish to be. But it had power, so there were those who sought it, amongst the ones who walked between the worlds.

Lilium, the Nightrose, demon-twisted, and, at least in appearance, an androgyne, was one of them, smiling as they looked over the battlefield from a small rise, a deep fen rising around them as they did.

Overhead, an odd vampire, gold-eyed, with bone-white hair, who apparently had once been an elf, judging by her ears, and overall build, though the origin of her black-feathered wings was unclear, hovered patiently, waiting for whatever battle there might be to be joined.

    [Garage]

Forcefields flicker and spark under the barrage, Aerie's shields stopping most of the rounds, and the fact that presumably, with his brain fried, he's not terribly accurate, meaning that of those that do get through, most miss her completely, taking chunks out of the floor, or the others fleeing, though one grazes her side, ripping the flesh away, and carving a deep gouge her armor, while another bites deep into one of the weapons systems she unfolded from her back, disabling it, at least for now.

Still, she's hardly out of the fight yet, though she doesn't do any more attacking at the moment, instead ducking back behind their improvised barrier, and looking around for a good target.

Meanwhile, as Belladonna's target falls, she fires again, a three-round burst, this one aiming to catch him in the torso, though she doesn't wait to see the results of her attack before turning to where the fallen weapon Mia was using lies, stowing the midling's gun as she does.

Once the more powerful weapon is in her hands, she takes careful aim at one of the remaining Assault Beasts, and fires five rounds at its head, should there be any weak spots there, the schematics in her head, combined with her various scanners, serving admirably to locate them.

Mia, though still incapacitated, twitches slightly, the severed nerves that were preventing her from using her right arm already healed, which she, as quickly as she can in her current state, uses to inject similar nanobots to those she's using to repair herself into Arachne, healing the lesser damage that the other Escort suffered in perhaps a minute, at most.

At which, since Mia is clearly still alive, somehow, she gently pushes the close-combat unit out of her lap, and blurs up a nearby support column, two pairs of weapons like those in Aerie's back extending from her sides, and, once she reaches the ceiling, raining energy pellets down on the battlefield, especially the team pinning down the rest of the group.

    [Underground Labs]

"Could I see the plans for all of those?", she asks, sounding almost worried by the doctor's overabundance of imagination.

So, I'm working on a few texts for a friend's website, and I wonder if they would count for the Challenge or not.

This friend is making hand-made effects pedals for guitars and such, and the purpose of these texts is to show what each pedal does and how awesome it is, adding a bit of music history about the effect.

I felt very creative when writing the first one: it's only ~400 words (if it does count for the Challenge, I'll assume it counts for one piece), but it took a lot of thought and research. Then again, perhaps it's dangerously close to *twitch* advertising? [It's not a job, it's a favor. I haven't sold my soul to the devil yet. ]

    What do you think?

    EDIT:
@Glass Mouse, I've sent you a pm with a sample text.

Inaya sighed from the roof she sat on, twitching the threads on the man's mind, hauling his fear into herself, that she could redirect it if she needed to. As, since Lilith was here, she rather suspected she would...

However, she made no move to actually stop her from killing him, instead simply reaching out with one of her skeletal wings, and hooking the corpse next to her, surprisingly well-preserved for the heat, ready to reanimate it if she needed to, though she would prefer to simply talk to her... Rival.

"Good day to you, Lilith," Inaya says quietly, waving a human, though one with pure black skin, dotted with glowing sparks, slowly shifting, forward from their place behind her. "My latest pupil, Kyra," she explains, gesturing to the girl. "Her talents fall more towards your specialties in some ways, however. And while we may not like each other, no-one can deny that you're quite capable... As such, your readiness is admirable, but unnecessary. The ex-person with us is merely a precaution."

((I was actually just reading something that dealt with her, amusingly enough. Gave me a bit of a surprise when I saw your form...))

"Or pieces. One of those. Though I suppose that the end result is still the same, yes," she admits, laughing a bit, both at Lilith's joke and her own. "Though seeing as she agreed to this before I killed her, I don't think she's that upset about being disturbed.

Besides, it's not as though I loathe you on principle or anything. You always try to be aesthetic, which is more than most can say, and it's always been conflicts of interest, not ideology, between us, at least on my part," she goes on, shrugging, and letting the body slide off her wing, falling to dangle over the edge of the roof. "I would hardly be asking if you'll help oversee Kyra's training if I thought 'such horrid things' about you, would I?"

"I was not requesting you work for me," Inaya explains softly, folding her wings, and stepping back slightly. "I had something more along the lines of us each having complete autonomy within our respective spheres, in fact... And the reason I asked you was that, as I said, her abilities run more toward your areas of especial expertise than they do my own, so I hoped you would be able to train her in them more effectively than I can. But I'm hardly fool enough to press the matter..."

With that, unless something stops her, she hooks the corpse on her wing again, and walks off, slipping an arm around her apprentice as they go, apparently content to leave things relatively peaceful between them.

Connor glanced over at the girl next to him, looking almost worried, in some ways, for she was plainly nervous. But she also, given the fact that she was playing her music loud enough that he could hear it, to some extent, and was focusing on her book hard enough that he half-expected it to catch fire, clearly didn't wish to speak to anyone.

And, as she was the only one on the the plane near enough to talk to, this had been the only empty seat when he got on - and, as nothing had been said about any of the other passengers jumping out, presumably still would be were he to look for another -, besides looking like the only one who would be remotely interesting, he simply pulled a pair of headphones from his pocket, turned up his own music until he could no longer hear hers, and pulled a pad of graph paper out of his bag, then, a moment later, began to draw various odd designs on it.

What he's drawing appears to be odd symbols, though why, and what purpose they might be for, is unclear. Especially as they don't seem to bear that much resemblance to anything else...

In any case, when she looks over at him, he smiles at her, though he quickly returns to what he's doing as well, albeit perhaps not as intensely; if she's paying attention, Deme might notice that he's keeping one eye on her as he works, probably because of how nervous she seems.

Three different symbols, if these count:

@HeadlessMermaid: I'm sorry about the late reply, but sure, I'd say stuff like that counts as long as it's not part of an actual job

@Grimmace: Congrats on the blog surge! It's so nice when luck works in one's favor

As for my pieces this week, I don't have acces to a scanner, so I just took a photo of the drawings and chugged that in the Google Doc I use for proof. Just if someone was wondering why my DA is quiet.

Considering how reliably you've kept the Challenge running for such a long time, minor administrative hiccups are entirely understandable.

Hm, I think about joining the challenge. I wrote so much this week, that I would have passed trice. But school starts again on Monday and I have no idea if I'll have enough time to write... but I can at least try, can't I? Oh, and my writings would all be in German, is that okay? If yes, please sign me up for next week.

Yay, welcome to the Challenge! It's definitely worth a try to live up to the minimum though school has started! It's 100% possible if you plan for it - I can attest to that.

There's no problem with writing in German. Just make it accesible in some way (PM to me, post in the thread, a Google Doc, etc.). If you can make it during the next ~18 hours, you can have this week too

C'nor, your PM box is full, so I'm leaving my answer here:

    Hey C'nor

I've been thinking a lot about whether I'd count that, considering I couldn't see the distinction the first time, but let's make a deal. They count if you learn to work a resize so I can get an overview without tab shenanigans in the future. Okay?

That also means you earn your first drawing prize! Let me know what you want (probably after assessing my drawing level)

    Cheers!

Alrighty. Back on track this week.

And please, don't ask me to explain the thoughts behind some of my drawings this time around because, in all honesty, I have no idea what was going through my head when I drew them.

I am still uncertain how to do a resize in this coding format... But it should be large enough to see everything, hopefully.

There should be five symbols in this, not counting the various snippets of stuff around the edges:

"She can get out, if the conditions are right... And I will be sure to do so, then," she went on, smiling, plainly relieved that the sketch had met with approval.

    ---

Talia, so far as could be told, had no objection to 'Talie rabbit'; as a nickname, it was as good as any... And that Lacey had made the effort to give her one was something she was quite pleased about. So she simply smiled a bit more, hugging the tiny Hatter more tightly against herself for a moment.

"Thank you, Lace-sprite. I'm glad you like it now it's painted, too... "

    ---

"Shh. Just rest for now, mia sorella... You don't need to explain yourself, not to me, not when I'm the one who hurt you. We can talk once the pain fades," Talia murmured, reaching up with one hand to wipe away Acacia's tears, and, than done, gently stroke her hair. "If you still want to then, of course. For now, just know that you're safe, and I'll keep you that way, whether or not you can do so for yourself."

Talia's voice was less broken than that of her 'sister', but she still paused awkwardly in places, plainly quite upset that she'd managed to hurt Acacia so badly, and having a hard time talking around her tears, as well as some difficulty finding the right words to console her normally-impassive friend.

"It's hardly conceit to recognize you're lovely," Fear answers quietly, nodding, and grinning darkly. "Though I'd prefer to not go into such things here, given the ease of eavesdropping, and the fact that much of what this touches on I consider rather private.

And that might be the case. It depends on what sorts of magic items you're looking for... I certainly wouldn't call Erin's a 'mere' emporium, but he doesn't seem to have considered that you might have something other than weapons - of the enchanted sword variety, not wands and such - in mind, given that that is almost exclusively what they stock."

"A pleasure to meet you," he replies softly, lapsing into silence for a bit in turn, carefully considering the witch."Though I must confess to some curiosity as to what you mean by 'witch'... There was only one known as such in my world, and I rather suspect that you share relatively few traits with her."

"When I am like this, in this form. When I'm not, the other way. Which portion of myself is most prevalent in my mind, at least on that level, alters with my body. But if I had to choose, based solely on how I feel about them both, I suppose I would pick this one..."

"I stabbed myself while we were out, when I knew the nearest healer wasn't the one in Ostrim Tower. They left me there, with instructions to send me back in the morning, but I escaped first, since healing leaves the person who does it weakened.

After that, I headed back, and, with some assistance from one of the mages and his Bond-Mate, got the others free."

Sorrow, a tall Tiefling with pale hair, apparently some sort of mage, judging by the staff made of human bones on his back, and the robes, has finally come out of deadtime, so while Fade is in limbo, he's resumed his normal duties, and, judging by the fact that her glass is now filled, and he's the only one behind the bar, got Felandria her drink at some point during her speech.

His sister, Fear, who's wearing much-patched leather armor, and a pair of thin knives which are perhaps the length of her forearm, smiles at the half-elf from a nearby seat, laughing softly as she does.

"There's nothing near the Dancing Fox. That's sort of the point. But I might know a few good places in the cities. It depends on what you're looking for."

He seems to be half-starved, though apparently improving, and doesn't seem to be noticeably impaired by it.

His skin is a dark red, with faint paler bands in places; he also has mid-length straight horns covering his head, a thin tail, ending in a vicious barb, and yellow eyes. Otherwise, though, he seems fairly human, and would probably be reasonably good looking if he weren't so thin.

If she can tell such things, she may be aware that the staff is... odd... in some fashion, and connected to him.

Meanwhile, Fear would have pointed out that Erin's actually pretty much only does weapons and similar things, but Felandria headed off before she got a chance to, so instead she simply rolls her eyes and mutters something about impatience.

As the arrow flies past her, Fear begins to grow, armor and weapons reforming to fit her new size, crackling sparks running up and down the pair of long, straight, horns that sprout from her dark brown hair, forming a ball of lightning between them; she settles at several inches taller than Felandria, right around the time that Styx mentions it would be funny for the half-giant to throw some people around.

When Felandria arrives at her table - which, along with the chair, seems to have resized itself as well - the Tiefling shakes her head, smiling at her and the imp.

"No, I'm fine. Though in the future, your friend might want to make sure that the people he shoots at will staysmaller than you are..."

She sounds more amused than upset, and motions for Felandria to take a seat, if she wishes to.

She nods in acknowledgement of the imp's apology, reaching back to pull the arrow out of her chair, and passing it through the ball of lightning between her horns, then going to hand it to him.

"It's a nice change to be able to talk with people normally, yes... And I was born in the Nether - my world's Hell, basically, though as someone who belonged there, I found it quite pleasant -, then ended up dragged into Taelarys by House Ostrim.

Which is probably meaningless to you, admittedly..."

He shrugs, smiling at her, and waving to his brother, presumably so that Torment can take over if it should prove necessary.

"It bears my name, so I prefer to keep it around. And it can help with things like what happened earlier, which occur surprisingly often, too..."

    ---

"What do you want to know about? My birthplace? The mage-houses? Other aspects of it? Simply 'my world' is a rather broad category, especially as it could refer to two..."

"My family is... Unusual. If you like, I could introduce you to them? My brothers are here, and some of my sisters.

And House Ostrim didn't bring me here, I got here from where they pulled me," she clarifies, standing, and turning so that her back is to Felandria. "As for why..."

She pulls on a hidden catch, which causes the back of her armor's right shoulder to disconnect from the rest, and pulls it away from her back, revealing a diamond-shaped brand, glowing a dull red, and looks back at the half-giant.

    "...Tieflings make good slaves."

So, it has come to this... status, that is!

Glass Mouse passes with ~2,100 words of sci-fi story.

C'nor passes with five symbols and 1,236 words of RPGing.

HeadlessMermaid passes with nine photographs of things from old cameras to pug butts.

The Grimmace passes with seven regular poems and two prose poems.

Neoriceisgood goes for the moon with ~51 mange sprites.

    Icewalker should be back soon?

Mercenary Pen didn't upload/send me anything. Still in?

nersxe didn't upload/send me anything. Still in?

KerfuffleMach2 passes with six drawings, from portraits to demonic toilets.

The Fiery Tower is out due to disapperance.

Lycunadari triple-passes with 4883 words of writings.

Thus, Icewalker, Mercenary Pen and nersxe FAIL this round!

Haha, I meant make them smaller, less screen-stretching. Often I do this on my netbook which doesn't take kindly to screen-stretching shenanigans.
Plus, few things ever need to be that size anyway

You can download a ton of image editing programs that lets you resize a picture in three-four clicks (heck, even Paint has it). Not sure if you can do it directly on this forum.

That, I can do. Except that the problem is they're tiny in Paint (I used to have better stuff, but that computer is dead, and this one is too full to run them), and get resized by the forum. And yeah, I can see why that might be good... I have the same problem on my netbook.

As for the power armor, it should be. It's not bulky Space Marine stuff or anything.

Basically, it's an exoskeleton patterned after a wolf, made for a humanoid, complete with claws and a set of functional jaws in the helmet. (I'll go dig up Alia's form, so you can have a better description.)

Hrmkay. So I am back from New York and returning to the regular swing of things. Although, unfortunately, my major writing project is in an editing, additions, and polishing stage, so it will produce minimal wordcount. This means either I do extreme quantities of that and keep track of it, or I go back to one of my other projects (like teaching myself to draw, or another writing project).

Or writing music. That one is also a good option. In fact, actually while I was still out East I finished up a song, though it wasn't this week I don't think.

We'll see. Hopefully I'll have a full set this Sunday, though figuring out my classes and schedule is taking some time. If not, I'll be back up and running by next week, one way or another, probably between Another Turn of the Wheel, as well as either Wildlands, drawing, or songwriting.

Probably won't get one in this week. May start plans for songwriting though for next week.

Edit: Actually, I did a fair amount of Another Turn of the Wheel writing in the last few days, about 1000 words. Maybe I'll turn out another two entries and actually make this week after all.

•Species•: Revenant Ghost-lover (Leannán Taibhsí)/Aerath Phantom Ghost (Revenants are Silver's, Aerath Phantoms are Aneira's.)
•Species info•: Ghost-lovers are, to put it mildly, unusual. Some would call them half-ghosts, yet that is, plainly, impossible, as even could ghosts somehow have children with mortals, even those who have never had contact with a ghost can have a Ghost-lover as a child, and while rare, twins are sometimes born with only one of them a Ghost-lover, and the other normal.

While overall, they tend to appear much like any member of whatever species they are born to, Ghost-lovers are almost always somewhat transparent, with their coloration ranging from dark grey to pure white, with their hair usually being paler, and somewhat easier to see through. However, in some cases, unusual alterations beyond such relatively minor changes can occur, though these are usually rare.

They also tend to act as 'ghost-magnets', drawing spirits from birth, which often results in their being possessed by one or more ghosts before they learn to suppress this and protect their minds from intrusion, though a strong enough ghost can block out others from gaining entrance until they do.

Many are also capable of becoming ethereal, at least for short periods, and almost all can physically interact with ghosts as though they were dealing with a normal being; related to this, any ghosts which possess them can take on their normal appearances and interact with the physical world, essentially subsuming the Ghost-lover physically and mentally, sometimes with their consent, sometimes involuntarily.

•Appearance•: Mujona is, for a Revenant, around average height, coming at about 5'5", when their shoes - a pair of tough, slightly worn, black boots, generally - don't boost that by a few inches, relatively thin, though not unhealthily so, and reasonably muscular. Their eyes are an odd silvery-grey. Their face is pretty, but sharp, and almost feral, with little to lessen its intensity, though something about it tends to draw people in, rather than, perhaps more logically, driving them away. Their hair, which is cut short, barely coming to the middle of their ears, and relatively straight, has been dyed a metallic violet, dark enough to be almost black, with a tangle of needle-pointed horns growing through it. Their flesh is overall dark grey, and like that of all Ghost-lovers, can be hazily seen through, to some extent.

Mujona is almost never seen without their jacket, which is made of several layers of thick white leather, lined with wolf fur. They also usually tend to wear heavy, fur-lined, pants primarily in pale colors, often with elaborate designs stitched into them. While comfortable in most types of shirt, so long as they're easy to wear, they tend to prefer, again, fairly heavy ones, usually somewhere between loose and form-fitting, and they almost always add some type of decoration.

Ketrabel is even shorter than Mujona, perhaps 4'3", though the fact that she usually seems to be curling in on herself makes it hard to judge accurately. She's also more transparent, with pale silvery flesh. Her hair is bright white, and comes to the middle of her shoulders, though like that of most Aerath Phantoms, it seems rather spiky towards the ends, and would likely appear more so were it shorter. Her eyes appear to be nothing more than blank, dull grey, orbs, giving the unsettling impression that she's blind. However, as long as one doesn't mind her eyes, and can get used to her ghostly features, she'd likely have been reasonably good-looking when she grew up, though not remarkably so. She also has a tribal tattoo (the first image here) on her face.

Her clothing is generally similar to Mujona's, and when subsuming them includes their jacket, though they also usually wear a pair of grey gloves.

    •Personality•:

    Mujona is

Ketrabel is extraordinarily quiet, for the most part. Shy,

    •History•: Ketrabel
•Abilities•: As per my orders from Luna, Mujona is an inventor, of sorts, though she has no formal training in such things.
•Aspirations•: Ketrabel, really, has no reason to join the flight. She's simply tagging along with Mujona because they've been together for ninety years, and they're extremely close. Were someone to figure out a way for her to do so - seeing as she can't take on a corporeal form for any real length of time without subsuming Mujona, meaning that any time one of them went out, the other would be unable to do anything at all, it wouldn't exactly be practical - she'd be happy to join, but that's not why she's here.

Mujona, on the other hand, has several reasons to join the flight - reclusive as most Revenants are, having been driven off into the wastes just before her thirteenth birthday has left her wanting a home for quite a while, something Ketrabel shares, to some extent, since as a ghost, she was unable to properly keep up with her tribe. And, too, there are stories about a Healer, one who might have some insight into her rather unusual nature...
•Rank•: (You need my permission to make a character who already has a rank in the flight. Otherwise you will be a wingling (apprentice))
•Dragons•: Whatever Silver comes up with. Probably Dokuzetsu, too, at times, though.
    •Fire bonded•:
    •Important belongings•: Oxy/gas pistol, hook-knife,
    •Other•:

Hook-knife: Even under close examination, most who are unfamiliar with this weapon would be unable to tell it from a normal longknife, the faint lines on the blade appearing to be decoration, nothing more, and the catch hidden in a tiny secret compartment on the hilt.

However, once it is inside someone or something, releasing the aforementioned catch causes the sharp segments, anchored to a central 'spine', which make up the edges of the blade, to spring open, stopping at an angle such that they will catch should anyone attempt to remove it.
