Opalescence has a great love of fashion. When Rarity is designing, they are the best of friends. When she is not, genetics take over and Opal resumes her place as a member of one of the jerk-faceiest cat breeds this side of Siamese.

She's probably also still a little miffed about the tree fiasco.

They're aired out of chronological order, though. She basically admits as much when she says its easier to imagine that "Fall Weather Friends" takes place before "Winter Wrap-Up."

Granted, there's a huge world of difference between "aired out of order" and "produced out of order," but Phantom probably meant the latter.

That, among other things. It also explains Twilight's varying aptitudes of magic. If one assumes she hasn't mastered teleportation until Applebuck Season (where she spams it to practice perhaps). Other episodes have shout outs to each other, but the seasons and the presence of apples on the trees are the main factors

I was a bit uncertain about this show at first, but because I trust the Playground's judgment I didn't immediately dismiss it.
After much deliberation, yesterday I went on something of a marathon. I admit, after most of the episodes, I had a spontaneous fit of giggles. It's like pure, concentrated joy. Or mind control. Something like that.

I have a theory about where Princess Luna has been since the pilot- in therapy. Being in solitary confinement for 1000 years is bound to damage the psyche of even a possibly-immortal god-princess. Along with the many psychological issues she's probably developed, she likely would need to be completely retaught how to interact with other ponies. Being dumped right back into society could cause her to have a nervous breakdown.

A semi-related idea- At first, Nightmare Moon was just a manifestation of Luna's anger and rejection, but over time, as she grew more and more conflicted (possibly during her imprisonment), Nightmare Moon became a completely separate personality. This might explain why she changed so much after being defeated- the Elements of Harmony put Luna back in control.

Yay! I'm a bit behind on this thread, but it will be nice to have a "home" for girlish squeeling.

Basic Info: Discovered this show the beginning of this month (after a fellow transformers fan told me THIS was Hub's best show!). After much deliberation, Rarity has become my favorite pony, based solely upon the song "Art of the Dress."

I reckon you should have Sonic Rainboom in there, but that's just personal preference. Also, Suited for Success as the finisher. It's AWESOME, and if they like the one about dresses, you have them.

The thing is, you need them to not run away in the first five minutes. "Winter Wrap-Up" and "Suited For Success" both feature elaborate musical numbers that could prove risky. I mean, they're good musical numbers, but they could still engender a sort of What have I gotten myself into? feeling for the uninitiated. "Call of the Cutie" features repeated use of the phrase "cutie mark," which could trigger certain adverse psychological reactions in anyone who wishes to appear grown-up. "Bridle Gossip" is a fine choice, on the other hand, though you'll need to establish the characters first for the "curses" to have the full humorous effect.

I second throwing "Swarm of the Century" in there. It showcases all the main characters, plus its chock-full of funny-for-all-ages slapstick humor. Plus, the moral isn't repeatedly hammered home like in all the other episodes (it almost looks like it was thrown in at the last second). You might even want to throw it in before the pilot; the first time I tried watching the show, I ran off giggling after the magical unicorn princess storybook.

Obviously, once you've got him through one episode, you don't have to tread so cautiously, and can subject him to all the cutesy musical numbers you want.

Why does Fluttershy keep chickens? Does she use the eggs? I guess with all of the cakes and cupcakes and stuff being mentioned in every episode, I guess the ponies can be allowed this one deviation from a vegetarian diet.

Alternate, but less interesting explanation: she just likes Chickens.

5. Winter Wrap-Up or Suited for Success

The pilot is kinda required. I choose Griffon because for me, personally, I needed this episode to like Pinkie-Pie. She came off rather... much for me. Bridle Gossip has a lot of the fun mixed with legitimate issues, and I recommend having one of the song intensive episodes, because it's a big part of the show, as we've discovered, and if they can't get past the idea even once, maybe the show really isn't for them.

This is what I'd show, based upon personal bias.

Welcome to the playground. Almost nothing is deleted on sight and trolls are quickly defenestrated. So long as the pony lovers keep their excitement to an appropriate number of threads, all those threads get to exist. Even if they started making tons of threads everywhere, the threads would be merged and the offending people banned rather than the threads deleted.

I, for one, find it appropriate that one of the best threads on My Little Pony is in the Playground. Now back to my anthropology experiment of lurking in the pony thread.
