[Nexus] GLoG 64: Campsites, not Chessboards!

[Morty]

Reelshka undeadtimes and approaches the building site. May I ask what's going on here?

Sunny is wearing power armor similar to the red armor here, though with a full faceplate. And instead of red, it's colored black on the bottom and light blue on top to look more like regular clothes.

"I'm building a drone factory," Sunny says.

[Morty]

Reelshka blinks. What are "drones"? And who're you, anyway?

[happyturtle]

"I'm Sunny. And drones are special robots that used to float around at GLoG and help take care of people. But they all got killed when the base was destroyed."

[Morty]

Um, right. I've heard something about the old GLoG base being destroyed, yes. So you were a member back then? And now you're planning to bring the drones back?

[happyturtle]

"Mhm. They helped take care of me when I was helpless, so now I want to bring them back so they can help other people." Sunny says. "What is your name?"

[Morty]

I'm Reelshka. Reelshka Trollfinger. A goblin, she adds, since a lot of people don't seem to know what a goblin is. And if you need help, I'd love to give a hand. I haven't had much to do lately.

[happyturtle]

Sunny lights up. (Not literally.) "Are you an engineer too?"

[Morty]

Reelshka scratches her ear. Sort of. I'm an architect.

[ThePhantom]

Marley, hearing the sounds of construction heads outside, cane in hand.

"What going on?"

[happyturtle]

"Oh, that's good. Maybe you can look at the building plans and make improvements."

Sunny pulls out the blueprints she drew up. The plan for the workshop itself is rather plain - just a cabin sized building where drones can be built or repaired. It's only designed to keep 5-10 drones in operation at any one time.

[Morty]

Sunny here is building a new drone factory. Reelshka then takes the blueprints and studies them carefully. Looks fine overall, but I think I'll make to make some adjustments.

[ThePhantom]

"Oh."

Marley looks at the digging.

"Well, I'm glad to see that your'e doing better Sunny."

[happyturtle]

"It'll take a while to lay the foundation, so you can make adjustments while they work." Then she smiles faintly at Marley, though he can't see it through her power armor faceplate. "I... yeah, I'm doing better."

[ThePhantom]

"So, how are things with Magtok going?"

Marley wants to make sure that things are going okay for her. Sure, she isn't quite that helpless anymore, but considering that Magtok works with from time to time the man who tortured him, he does want to know what is going on there.

[happyturtle]

"It's good. I finished my internship and now I'm a <Insert job title here that is awaiting a MagCave post from Magtok to exist>. And Magtok gave me a really large bonus, which I used to pay for all of this." Sunny says. She doesn't know that it actually came from Reinholdt. Although I think she also got a bonus from Magtok too.

[ThePhantom]

"Ah, that's good."

Marley thinks for a while.

"And how is Charity doing? I haven't seen her for a while."

[happyturtle]

"She's been teaching at the school. And taking care of Edijar while he recovers. And sometimes going to the Red Zone to help people, but I make her take robots with her to keep her safe." Sunny says. "How have you been?"

[ThePhantom]

"Well, I'm doing better myself."

Marley rubs the back of his head.

"Through I haven't left GLoG ever since that vampire kidnapped me."

[happyturtle]

"It's safer that way," Sunny agrees. "But it's bad to feel trapped because of fear."

[Morty]

Reelshka takes the blueprints to the nearest table, grabs her measuring tools and begins to work on adjustments.

[ThePhantom]

"True, but there's not much I can do."

Marley sighs.

"I tried organizating an attempt to get AMEN to stop going after me, but that fell through before it got started."

[happyturtle]

"Have they come after you again since then?" Sunny asks.

[ThePhantom]

"No, but I have been keeping a low profile since then."

Marley watches the digging continue. Man, having one of those would have made putting up those covers for the paths a lot easier.

[happyturtle]

"You shouldn't stop doing things you like just because of bad guys. I could make you a robot to go with you and help protect you, like I did with Cherry." Sunny says.

[ThePhantom]

"Um, I not sure how well that would work."

Marley doesn't want to tell her that Magtok works with AMEN from time to time, and a robot wouldn't last long against him.

[happyturtle]

Ah, but Magtok wouldn't be able to bring himself to destroy one of Sunny's robots.

"I think it's wrong to let bad people like The Cat keep you from doing what you want to do." Sunny says. Which explains why she's out here facing her agoraphobia instead of monitoring the entire site robotically.

[ThePhantom]

"Well, you don't have to go out of your way to help me. But its quite nice of you to offer."

[happyturtle]

"Just think about it. It probably makes that vampire happy that you're hiding and afraid." Sunny says.

[ThePhantom]

"Okay, I will. Thanks Sunny."

Marley goes to look at the lake for a while.
