Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase IV
Where do you see claws, Crimmy ? His feet are a straigh line as as I can tell, normal OOts tyle human. I think it's out lines of the logs that gives up that impression.
however feet are too long and are they meant to be in the fire ? (since it' s Lateral, it's a possibility).I'm sig'ing in the rain, just sig'ing in the rain....

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase IV
The body is way too skinny. Also, the mouth is too far from the eyes.
What do you guys think about this Mint Elemental? It's basically OOTS-style.

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase IV
I made this avatar for Elemental. How does it look? It's apparently a male version of the human form of a Kelpie with a raven and a broadsword.
Edit: @^ Aaah, your Link looks great! Coincidentally I'm planning a Saria avatar right now.
Edit2: Speaking of which:
@Cuthalion The mint thing looks alright, I like the cape part especially, but the hat doesn't seem to fit at all.Last edited by Gnomish Wanderer; 2012-07-18 at 02:24 AM.

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase IV
I made this for Mauve yesterday and finished it today.
@Gnomish:Great, I like them both.Especially the second, but the first one's also good, to the point that the First thing I thought of when I saw that was "Kelpie?".
@V:On his hand that isn't holding the staff, the middle finger is the shortest. That's one thing. The arms are a bit long and the mouth looks weird compared to the nostrils. The staff looks unwieldy.

Criticism?SpoilerThis is the thief who likes to hoard,
That loves the bard with the puppet Lord
That admires the fighter with the green-hilted sword,
That employs the Wizard, whose bird is ignored,
That has the gender unexplored
That intrigues the Halfling, usually bored,
That slew a mountain of the goblin horde,
That follows the cleric,
That serves the lich,

Larger heads, please. Those small ones look really awkward.

Niiiice, Derj. That's awesome.
Hey! Pokemon after Gen 1 are perfectly capable of being awesome. In fact, my favorite pokemon is from Gen 3. *fires up inkscape*

And on an unrelated note, as you can see from that avi, I've started drawing hair differently. All credit goes to Derjuin for giving me a tutorial on drawing hair.

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase IV
Hey everyone, it's been a long time since I've posted in this section (or done an avatar for that matter.) I figured I'd show off my latest as I get back in the game.
I'm having a bit of trouble resizing it. I remember that I used to resize avatars from the large versions to the smaller ones using Paint Shop Pro 7, in order to gain a higher resolution than what would occur from Inkscape exporting it at 120 x 120. That doesn't seem to work anymore due to the fact that the PSP7 disk has long died and I've reformatted my system a few times since then.
So would anyone be so kind to lend a suggestion on a good program that resizes .pngs? All the ones I've tried (including the most recent version of PSP) leave a strange white border around the avatar, like the program converted it to .jpg and cropped it and hoped I wouldn't notice.Currently RPG group playing: Endworld (D&D 5e. A Homebrewed post-apocalyptic supplement.)
My campaign settings: Azura; 10,000 CE | The Frozen Seas | Bloodstones (Paleolithic Horror) | AEGIS - The School for Superhero Children | Iaphela (5e, Elder Scrolls)

It's free and it'swhat I use for post Inkscape manipulations on my avatars when needed (as well as conversion to pngs. you actualy open the svg with gimp then useittosavein png, there's very little lossor resolution atthe diferenceof exportingit with Inscape in a photoshop document. Howeverone thing to dois tomake sureyou convert all 'objects to path' in Inkscape first.) and it generaly works fine
Otherwise do you still have the svg ? Because it'd probably just be easier to resize in 120*120 in Inkscape then reconvert into a png.Last edited by smuchmuch; 2012-07-22 at 07:41 AM.

Hi all, me and a bunch of my friends are going to do some dungeon crawling with 4e rules and random rolled character, so i thinked to make a OOTS style mini for each player
from left to right:
1st raw paladin elf, ardent deva, fighter dwarf, ranger half ork and psion elf
2nd row shaman dwarf, rogue eladrin, bard elf and warlock tieflingLast edited by Alexander leah; 2012-07-25 at 07:01 PM.

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase IV
@Alexander leah Not bad, I like it. Some of the details are probably too thin and the legs should have a bit more of a bend, but it's a good simplification. The only one that really bugs me is the Psion, his legs look badly broken. OotS-atars as minis work really well if you can get them to print right

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase IV
Not bad at all. If I may make a suggestion, try to keep your line thicknesses the same width, unless the object is too small to see with the base width.
Your next step is to try posing the figures. Try displaying them doing something they do often, or something heroic they've done.Currently RPG group playing: Endworld (D&D 5e. A Homebrewed post-apocalyptic supplement.)

A quick avatar request I was interested in. Made it mostly with the pencil and paintbrush tools, so it looks different compared to my usual stuff. *shrugs*
