Yeah, good point. That's why I weakened Mercury, a lot, making him easier to find, and get rid of.

I'd also point out that one of the reasons the plot makes so little sense is that Mercury has a bad habit of panicking, and throwing the first thing he can think of at the problem. Hence, his attempt at framing is poorly executed, confusing, and fast becoming obvious.

I think that there's still enough hope for the plot left not to do that, especially the bit with Maxios needing Mercury's help to survive being mage-ifyed. I dunno, I think it will probably work a lot better now that Mercury's been weakened, enough that it's worth a shot anyway.

Considering that he has a character in on the bring Rae back quest he shouldn't mind. Now I just need someone to beat Crae wihin an inch of his life, and since UnRae is out of commission until his ring rebuilds him, anyone want to do it?

Given how much power it took to defeat one Rae temporarily I think I can safely say I probably won't be volunteering on this one.

To make the plot actually make some sense to everyone but me, here's what Mercury's been doing.

Step 1: Got Maxios to make threatening video, relayed to Channel 4 via mind-puppet.

Step 2: Used his face-alter spell to make a mind-puppet look like Maxios, throwing up some wards so only in depth magical scanning would reveal the mind-control (and the wards).

Step 3: Got Maxios out of the way and on his way to the sun by offering him a ride to the Channel 4 station.

Step 4: Mind-puppet Maxios destroys Channel 4.

Step 5: Crud! People investigating the LANTERN tapes, which would have showed someone invisible launch the bombs. Has Mind-puppet Maxios cloned, then uses the battle as an excuse to destroy the tapes.

Step 6: Makes up cray story about vampires to make the whole trick more believable, thankfully everyone gets distracted and he has time to plant some vampires in the towns.

Step 7: ????

Crae is significantly less powerful than UnRae, considering his lack of a ring and the fact that he can't remember how to use his powers half the time.

He is possibly a bit crazier though. I mean, it's in his name.

I'm thinking of making a character who can turn into a dragon.
Not a DnD dragon, or a really strong dragon, more of a makes biological sense dragon. It'd be more like a Wyvern in body shape.

Oh, and just as a side note, Rae, I'm actually trying to make a shift away from the standard Lantern ring stuff, which is part of why I'm not having Grace use hers anymore. So while theoretically I might find a way to defeat UnRae with them if he returns, I'd much prefer not to have to. Is it possible to win against him without them, hopefully in a non-convoluted way?

Besides the rings I suppose enough divine power could do it, or a power along the same lines as those. Finding a way to sever the connection between him and the ring with magic would be difficult, but not impossible, especially if Nite would allow his own ring to be studied for the purpose. I can't really think of anything else right now, but if I do I'll let you know.

By divine I meant the positive holy kind that he made his own skin boil with, not just provided by a god or godlike being. Should have been more specific, I guess. You probably would have mentioned if it were that kind.

I saw that. We clicked the information button, or maybe looked in the TV guide, and were really upset it was a docu-drama and not a documentary. It all made sense. They had fire-breath because they generated hydrogen from their food (or water; it was ages ago) and ate platinum to coat their teeth so they generated a spark by moving their teeth. The hydrogen also made it easier for them to fly by lightening their bodies.

I'd like to see it again.
