Incantatrix: where? How?
I've heard they rock socks. If I wanted to go into it from starting a campaign at level 1, what would I need to do? Isn't it listed in an Eberon book AND another book? Which books exactly would these be? What's generally the best spheres to ban?

This way madness lies!
Check Players Guide to Faerūn or the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting. I forget which.
Its pretty rediculous. Its generally noted as one of THE most powerful wizard PrCs for a whole number of reasons. Every aspect of the class is amazing, with most of it boarding on rediculously broken. All for the cost of a feat you can buy with cash, and a single additional school banned.

That's because for whatever reason people always look at the unrevised version as opposed to the real version, found here. It doesn't get anything good but bonus feats, really, until 7th level.

"It doesn't matter how much you struggle or strive,
You'll never get out of life alive,
So please kill yourself and save this land,
And your last mission is to spread my command,"
Slightly adapted quote from X-Fusion, Please Kill Yourself

Re: Incantatrix: where? How?
Look at the date on that link - 2001. That's an excerpt from Magic of Faerun, a 3.0 book. Player's Guide to Faerun is 3.5, much more recent, and contains the official current most up to date version of Incantatrix, and it is the one most people talk about in optimization discussions.
