I lawyer when I can, sometimes I can't. I have found one strategy, but it requires being a power role that I'm not and if it's announced it's useless.

I have just been checking the list of dead and spotted that the only bad guys left are spirits. Therefore if we locate all the spirits then we know who cannot be bad.
The spirits of Saposhiente and BobtheFerret have bonded with me. So I would advice the seers to check Bob if they haven't already.

I don't think so.
There are five spirirt remaining, the watcher , the giver , the guardian, the take and the deciever.
One of them is as well the eponymous spirit of forgetfulness, but from what i can understand of the first post description, that just mean they have to get their desendant lynched as well as make their team win, not that they are necessarily a bad guy.
So if Saphioente is really a bad guy and Duneyr as well, then it's game over for the badies.
(And I confirm what Cd4 said about saphosiente and bobthe ferret being spirit since they both bonded with me too. I know Tydude is a ghost too and someoen else I won' t reveal until i'm sure it's safe to do so (good guy, i'm sure of it.).)Last edited by smuchmuch; 2011-05-12 at 03:45 AM.

Ah, my mistake, I'd misread.
Considering all of the baddie descendents are dead, I'd assume the spectre of forgetfulness has either already won, or is a good guy.
And since it's now out in the open: Sapo, Bob, Tydude, and I are all ghosts. Unless someone wants to come out and reveal the fifth ghost now, I believe the he/she is still anonymous. Still, I don't think we have much conclusive proof on Duneyrr's badness, I just wanted a second wagon for the sake of normalcy. The Deciever smiled as he cleverly disguised himself as one of those goody-two-shoe spirits. They'd never see through this one.
Unfortunately for him, the Journalist and Watcher were both investigating him together. He looks like a dangerous one. The Journalist said quietly.
The Watcher nodded. Yeah. There's only one thing to do.
The Journalist nodded in agreement. The Ghostbusters.
The Journalist picked up the phone and dialed. It wasn't long before Peter Venkeman and Winston Zeddemore kicked down the door to the Science Lab.
Saposhiente turned and glared at the two men. Are you serious? What do you think this is, a movie or something. There is no such thing as ghosts. Now take your "proton-packs", he says with air-quotes, and run on back to school.
Winston and Peter look at each other for a moment, before charging their nuclear powered devices and blasting the lab to all heck, before eventually capturing the spirit in a trap.
Another successful capture. Winston says with a smile.
Here's your bill. Peter says, handing the Journalist the expensive sheet of paper. He soon after passes out.

(Actually, if I readed the description right:
In addition, one spirit is the Spectre of Forgetfulness. This spirit's essence has been corrupted by long years of half-life, and so this spirit wins only if its team wins and it or its descendant is dead.
(or the remaining bad spir and somehow manged to defeat everyone still remaining . At this point, i'm going to call it improbable at best.))

It does look that way, but I'm not so sure of that.
Sure the bad guy were pretty much steamrolled but it might just be due to how the game played out.
The journalist reaveled himself and took out the psychpopath at the same time, that meant night kill falled to a 50/° percent change of happening, while it gave an obvious target for both banners and enhancers. If the baddies ahd managed to take a good power role before that, it could have played down very differently.
Frankly the trouble I see witht his game is it pretty much boiled all down to luck at the start.Last edited by smuchmuch; 2011-05-14 at 06:27 AM.

True, but my biggest problem was with the fact that as a Ghost, you have to bond with a person each night. And that person then knows you're a powerrole, which kind of screws you over if you're a baddie, especially later in the game when more of the good guys are out in the open. The reason we caught the last few is because we've be relaying who all of the Ghosts are from you to Zar. Though it was lucky that almost all of them came into contact with you.

And you think you had bad luck. Saposhiente had a successful Vortex with him and Arden. But, since the two seers were bonded, and they both scried him, they saw through the disguise.

Villager spirits could work, or not telling the bondee with whom they've been bonded, and allowing the Ghost to decide whether they want to communicate.
Also, ouch. That could've ended very poorly for me, as I don't believe I was ever technically scried as the Giver. How recent was this? That could've given the bad guys the boost they needed.

Town should have lynched all spirits starting Day 2. Trading one-sixth to one-half (depends on luck) of the power roles for half the baddies is a very good deal. Plus, all hope of scum networking would be permanently shot, and there would be half as many NKs. The nightkilling post death of psychopath and madman was an entirely necessary narrator fiat that should not be needed. Unpowered spirits might help, but Town would probably still want to lynch spirits for that half of night kill. Also something needs to be done about the death of both the Psychopath and the Madman.
I suggest making bonding optional and swapping out the Psychopath and Madman for some other power. Maybe devil?

The whole stick of this game is that wandreinf spirit is waht make communicating privately/getting information for non spirit roles posisble.
Uncooperative spirits (and as it is, they are given no incentive, to, if they had the choice, reveal themselves to anyone else than their descendand and/or bond with anyone else) would pretty much lock everyone else in the dark.Last edited by smuchmuch; 2011-05-14 at 08:36 PM.

"All you do is take take take" is what they screamed.
Even his wife wasn't backing him up this time.
She just looked at him with a look of disapproval and shame.
Dunnar didn't deserve this, he felt like he'd never had chance.
If there is a Lady Luck, she was out surfing on a distant beach when poor Dunnar was born.
He kept backing away from his in-laws, backing up further and further, not noticing the open window.
It was a long drop.
