Having an option is always better than not having it.

Not true. If the option is inferior in every way to existing alternatives (such as fulfilling a role already filled by other characters or units in a video game, only in a demonstrably inferior fashion), for example, or if adding a feature would preclude adding other, more useful, features (like in-game modelers making new characters every two weeks instead of a map). Also, sometimes having too many features can lead to an overload, where the consumer just says "Screw it, this is too complicated" (Too many characters/units to choose from/learn to play against in a video game) and goes to a competitor/does something else entirely. Yes all my example are from LoL, as I hear you play that and I don't know anything else about you.
Of course, none of these apply (except maybe the second proviso), I just felt the need as both a programmer and an end user of many programs to point that out.

Was there a tank involved? Could be that you were knocked over the clipping for "hanging survivor" and you just fell. Falling into water in Source does no damage I think, so... Just rampant speculation on my part.

As much as I appreciate the vigor with which Steam alerts me to events, I do not appreciate it force-minimizing my SC2 ladder match while I was defending against a push. Also, I do not even own L4D2.

Yeah. It wasn't just Jockey->Charged. It was Jo-CHARGE!~ and then he was invincible and no spit, puke, pounce or anything could touch him. We tried. Not even tank concrete. Then singing, dancing, and silly stuff.
