Oh damn! The reverse happened instead of 1 to 5 I got 95!! By the way so far I have only met women?

Ishmael entered and looked at her quizically for a moment considering the odds.

"Pleasure to meet you. As I said I am Ishmael QueeqQueg. I guess your boss does not have an intricate riddle of sorts for me to solve?

So tell me a bit about labaeled Eddistris Edistras. What kind of a person is he? What are his likes/dislikes and most importantly his social status and backstory in this city? What line of business is he in and what kind of relationship does he have with this place, the guard and the nobles? I mean has he ever made it big? Was he ever arrested or got the law suspicious?"

Said Ishmael enjoying the kinship he felt with another creature considered outcast!

"Mr Edistras is a merchant in the city under the employ of Jacob Pirner. He deals in raw metal exports and woodwork imports. Your business with him will be.... unrelated to any of that. He is a fine, upstanding citizen of course. Thus, another must do the less upstanding things he needs done for him."

Yes I have so far failed 1 and been accepted by 4.

By the way after this job I take a long walk around all the corridors pretending to check names and such. I am checking to see if there are any other doors in and out of this place apart from the main one from where I came. I will RP it jut telling you the intention.

Also for my shake you can perhaps roll just in case any of the other 3-4 I manage to do before sunset is the aasimar.

If not what I do is as follows: Lets assume sunset is at 6 o clock. At around 5.50 I go and take the crazy lady job (Yomei Hordukka) and then go out into the corridors again.

"Seems low key enough to be intresting. I am still investigating my options though. I shall continue checking available employers and will come back before leaving if I shall take this on.

On another note, would you like to get a drink some time?After work perhaps? I could meet you outside when you are done?"


Regardless of the answer when Ishmael eventually leaves the room, either with or without a date, he continued down the corridors. Considering his talents could be used for more than assassination he walked around the area checking the occasional name for something out of the ordinary or perhaps a Sir X or Lord Y or High Priest Z. In the mean time his eyes kept looking around for any other ways in and out of this building that could perhaps be the way out of here.

"Well, strictly speaking it breaks my neutrality to fraternize with a customer. However, if we happen to 'meet' for the first time just outside, then no harm done."

The nameplates all seem to give first and last names with no titles at all, even for the noble ones. You do recall a couple as noteworthy people in the city. However, you seem to come across a very bad string of luck. Few of the others seem to require your talents, and in fact you only manage to get past the wall on four more.

none of them are your target, and none end up offering you a job.

As you wander the halls, you begin to notice that the gaps between the hallways seems much wider than it should be for the rooms as you've seen them two to a space. You suspect that whatever else is between the gaps is likely to be the source of how the enigmatic facilitators reach their desks.

So if I understand correctly it seems as if there just too much "wall" between corridors now that I know how big the rooms are right? Especially considering how many there are and how important space would be.

To the tiefling:

"Well tell you what then. I know I am not supposed to ask what time you finish etc so I know I will be passing in front of Ezekiels supplies today in a couple of hours from now after meeting a friend... In the Sad Flint there is a guy or two who are not fond enough of me so I would rather not stay here and more importantly dont want to cause you trouble by making it too obvious or raising suspision" He said in all honesty and seriousness before heading out.


Back in the corridors.

On the one hand he was a bit angry at himself. He knew he didnt really have to actually get the jobs but being turned down somehow affected his sense of self. His nerves a bit agitated he kept walking around passing his hand over the wall where the corridors met in a fake absent minded manner. (search check?)

In the end as his internal clock told him time was running out slowly he went back and requested the Orc Poetry job from the Facilitator there and then quickly headed outside back to the corridors and selected a spot that looked towards the corridors and was near the main door* and melded with the shadows of the walls there.

All corridors begin an end in the hall where the door I came in from was correct? So assuming as we said they dont somehow teleport out they may come this way after exiting their rooms from a possible secret passage between the walls.

Is it sunset not yet? If yes they still allow new possible customers/clients to come inside? In the paper I saw the shifts for facilitators is there a "night" shift that takes over after sunset?

Ishmael while staying near the wall using its colors as his camouflage passes his hands over the strange wall.

There is no scheduled night shift, and after sunset, no one else comes up.

Did the last candidates that entered before sunset exit as well?

Also the facilitator I asked on a date DID say she could "accidentally" meet me out here no?

In any case I dont know if they are like 100% accurate so that when it goes sunset they are BAM outside or they clean their rooms, gather their things and file out slowly so only thing I can do is wait. Right now I cant think of something else...

Only that perhaps there is a secret passage from inside the rooms that leads to such a hidden passage between the walls but right now there is no way to reach such a location...

Ishmael frustrated continues to watch the corridors. He waits for about 10 minutes after his estimated sunset time to see if something changes.

About eight minutes after sunset, you hear a now all too familiar femenine voice say, "Don't worry Jim, I just forgot something upstairs. I'll get it in a jiffy."

The tiefling whom you asked out shows up at the door. "So, did you skip out on me, or is your ability to disappear not exaggeration. Mind coming out now?" She says once the door that you came up from is shut. She is not looking in your direction, and you believe that she is guessing that you're still there.

As best you know, you were the only one up here. All the other clients left well before sunset.

Ishmael takes a step forward appearing next to her.

"Well... I was worried I would get stood up. I was waiting for you to come out that door to suprise you and I was starting to get anxious as noone is coming out! Where did you all girls go?"

He said offering her his arm.

[planswalker]

"Staff exit." She says as she takes your arm. "I actually did leave something in my office that I need to grab real quick. It might work best for us if you go ahead on down and I meet up with you outside the tavern."

Ishmael smiled his honest smile as he looked at her. ↲
' lets make it more interesting. May i join you and we can sneak out together. I promise i wont tell anyone and it will be exciting. Plus it will look really bad formę to have been left up here on my own! I will be as quiet as a mouse and as invisible as a shadow!' ↲

She chuckles. "Maybe next time. Going out with an employee who accepted a job already will get me fussed at once. Showing you one of our trade secrets would get me fired. I'm not ready to show a complete stranger that yet. Besides which, the employee entrance is locked now. I'm gonna be taking those same stairs down that you are."

"Wow, you guys are more organised than I ever expected! Staff entrances, non-disclosure agreements... the while nine yards!

But okay then, I would not want to get you into trouble! So I should go down the normal way? Noone will be upset or anything?

Oh an... that may sound funny but you did not tell me your name! I know its policy for you girls not to socialise and share info but I guess it would be good to know the name of the person I will be buying dinner to!"

Said Ishmael with sincerity but inwardly cursing his stupidity for not expecting this development.

"The name's Jezleen. Last name will cost you dinner." She says as she saunters off.

It only dawns to him, as the sassy tiefling walks away, that what he is getting paid for this is peanuts... the real reward is learning the inner workings of the Sad Flint but the perceived reward of 800g is definetly not worth it.

Once downstairs he waits for the her to arrive. He takes a long look on the way down trying to figure out where all the facilitators have gone or where they went through. Now he knows they must come through a regular entrance albeit hidden he is more suspicious and careful.

You're pretty sure that their offices must be connected together and lead to the same place. Since you can only find one set of stairs leading to the first floor, you can safely assume their entrance is either on the third floor or the basement.

The halfling who escorted you up the stairs said. "Tried to sniff out a secret in addition to a job up there before old Jez shooed you out?" He said consolingly.

"Happens to the best of us I guess. But thanks for your kindness!

I admit I kind of last track of time. So many options to choose from. This city is filled of intrigue. I am glad they send me here. Now I know I may be stepping a line but out of sheer curiosity, whats on the third floor? Is it where the employers sign special forms for contracts?

I believe an old friend of mine may want to swing over and place a job but the poor thing is paranoid BEYOND measure. He even went looking for a map of this place until I wanted to stop being an idiot!" Said Ishmael conversationally!

After getting (or not getting) an answer he headed downstairs quickly avoiding the gaze of the dwarf "accountant" and entering the tavern proper.

He was almost sure the answer lay in the basement as that would provide an easy way out of here without even appearing on the surface or near the Flint if there were tunnels leading away to another location where they would exit carefully.

"Hence why the stairs leading up to there say 'Employers'."

On his way out, the dwarf recognizes you and says snidely. "So, Oaf, how many facilitators rejected your clumsiness before we closed?"

[Monodominant]

"Let it go already! I apologised and I was nervous. Would buying you a large bottle of beer make up for it?" Asked Ishmael a contrite look in his eyes.

"And for your edification I was only turned down by 7! I did manage to get one in the end though! But as you know from the paper I signed for you, I cant tell you any details!"

He does not answer you, but you do hhear him grumble about clumsy people and somethign about beer.

[Monodominant]

"I will tell the bartender to keep a cold one if possible waiting for you when you come out. Up to you if you want it or not but it will be paid for."

Ishmael finally steps in the proper tavern and looks towards the bar and the not so friendly bartender

"Good evening again. I wanted to say thanks for letting me get upstairs. Also, whenever the dwarf accountant or whatever he is comes out get him a large beer from me will you? I kind of got on his nerves. The same for you if you are up for a drink since despite your opinion of me you let me in anyway" he said putting 3 gold coins on the bar and pushing them towards the man.

"I take it you disturbed one of is papers?" the barkeep said, seemingly not recognizing you at first as the same man whom he was suspicious of.

[Monodominant]

"I almost dropped a heap of them on the floor... crisis averted though and I got a job... so I can afford to get him a drink and make up! Whats his favorite beer?" Asked Ishmael trying to kill time until the girl came down as well.

[planswalker]

"Welll, his favorite is a deep lager that costs 5 gold. His normal one is a dwarven ale covered by your three gold here."

[Monodominant]

"Steep but this job pays and I want to be able to come back to him... so 5 it is. And keep an extra one as a tip for allowing me to start the whole process. Its not much I know but when I get the job done and some cash flow in my finances I will buy everyone their favorite!" said Ishmael a glint in his eyes!

"Glad the Flint's services could be of help." He said.

About that time, Jezleen walks out the back doors and into the common room.

Leaving the six coins on the bar Ishmael heads outside after looking at the woman once trying to catch her eyes.

On his way out he has another good look trying to discern if he sees any of the facilitators enjoying a drink perhaps before heading home.
