AvB - The Deadly Docks

[planswalker]

"Sounds good to me. Did I notice that you took the items off of that corpse with a chain?"

[Rizban]

"Going to give those to the next of kin..."

[planswalker]

"So, what's his name? I'll be sure to hold a vigil when I get back to the university."

[Rizban]

Hagan pulls out a crumpled and slightly bloody identification paper from the bag and hands it to Tim.

[planswalker]

"So, Ymeo was he? Forgive me if I don't trust you to have his best intentions at heart. You did strip his corpse and leave it in the street."

[Rizban]

"His spirit had already passed, and there was nothing more that could be done for him. Would you rather I had left his armor and weaponry for the skulks to take and use against others?"

[planswalker]

"I'm just noticing that you were quite careful to strip him of all valuables, but did not seem too amiss at leaving his body lying in the streets to get desecrated."

[Rizban]

"Yet you seem to have failed to notice that I was carrying the still breathing, if unconscious, merchant who is now laying in that bed. Even with magic I am not strong enough to carry two bodies. If Ymeo's body is so important to you, then I suggest you stop laying blame at my feet and go retrieve him yourself."

[planswalker]

"I am not the one who expressed interest in him being shown respect."

[Rizban]

"And yet you insist that I have failed to show him the proper respect. As an educated man of the university, I am sure you can see the disconnect here."

Hagan grips his dorje tightly under the table with both hands where Tim cannot see it.

[planswalker]

Tim gives a short laugh. "Indeed, you have caught me. I'm just a greedy bastard that would like to see if there's anything useful off him for the taking."

[Rizban]

"Fine, if it will make you drop it..."

Hagan reaches into the bag, pulls out a hat of disguise, and throws it to Tim.

"That's all you get. Be satisfied with it."

Hagan readies an action to fire his dorje at Tim if Tim makes any kind of threatening move.

[planswalker]

"Thanks! I'll lay off now. The rest is all yours. Give it to the next of kin if you wish."

[RandomAction]

Kel steps in between the two of them, his hands each open and facing outwards.

Gentlemen, please. It has been a long night filled with danger. Can we at least be civil about this until we are rested up and ready to leave? I, for one, would not enjoy the though of a battle breaking out in this room while we are hiding from a band of skulks who want nothing other than to kill all humans.

Meeting both of thier gazes, Kel shakes his head and walks over to where Hagan is standing. He asks quietly,
Did you perchance find anything that the late Ymeo had on his person that could be useful to me, master Hagan? Though I am sure that his family would want something as a keepsake.

Walking back over to his chair, Kel leans back again and asks the group,

If we are finished with the bickering and the advocation of eaches personal ethics, I suggest that we get some rest. Though I am sadly in need of it myself, I am willing to take the first watch. There are two things that bother me about this shabby little inn. The first is that given the nature of the innkeeper, we may have trouble if he decides to sell us out to the skulks. The second, our opponents that we fought for our rooms just vanished during the battle and may yet come back to finish what they have started. Though I have traveled the lands some, I have not encountered anything that could do what they did.

[planswalker]

"I'll take the last shift then. I should be able to prepare my spell at that time."

[Rizban]

Sister Marion speaks up saying, "I'll take the middle watch."

She then curls up on the floor to sleep.

[planswalker]

Tim strips off his armor and sleeps is a sprawl in a corner. Despite the odd position, he's quite comfortable.

The spell tattoo all over his face is rather obvious now.

[planswalker]

night passes uneventfully.

For surviving the night, everyone finds 600 xp under their pillows.

[Rizban]

Hagan nods to them all as he grabs his bags.

"Well, thank you all for the help, but Kel and I need to get going. I should probably return to my business too. I have customers waiting for their custom made items, you know..."

[planswalker]

"Likewise, I have a thesis to write! I think I had a breakthrough last night!"

He begins donning his armor once more, and says rather sheepishly. "Er, someone mind helping me with this stuff? I never can get it on properly by myself."

[RandomAction]

Kel spends a few minutes helping Timm with his armor before getting into his own. He moves through a few stretches to make sure his is in proper place and ready for what-ever comes his way.

Well Master Hagan, since you have a buisness, we can continue searching after you have completed what buisness you have for today. Unless you feel like going on right now?

Having gotten a good night's rest... or at least, the best rest one could reasonably be expected to get with several open wounds, Estellise quietly left the small group. She'd remember them well - comrades were comrades, after all - but at this point, they'd had quite enough adventure - Marion at her side, she began the walk back to the halls of the Sisters of Salvation. They had a report to make. The skulks had made their presence known - all that remained was to see if something could be done about it.
