Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
Clearly, the late Mr. Brakkis always dressed as ridiculously as possible in the hope that someone would make fun of it, which would count as a challenge to a duel under Callanian law, allowing him to sic Scarlatti on the offender and, in the almost guaranteed case of a win, rake in some nice satisfaction.

Impartial media? What's that?
EDIT: Oh geez... If I run out of vomit can I borrow some of yours?
EDIT 2: The fact that this secretary doesn't find what she just said at all worrying is itself kind of worrying. She should have followed it up with "...and if you'll excuse me sir I'm taking the rest of the day off to go to an AA meeting"Last edited by FlashRah; 2011-03-14 at 04:26 PM.

Ugh wow, I took a quick look at that Gamer Chicks comic someone linked earlier ... that was really, really bad.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
Having tried that Gamer Chicks comic... It's bad, yes. But it's not painfully bad...Or, to be more accurate, it's not bad in a way that is painful. It's bad like the current phase of DD. It's terrible. Horrible. Nonsensical, boring, poorly-drawn, cliche, and you develop the impression that you're missing, at minimum, half the panels of any page, and even then, it wouldn't be great....
But it doesn't hurt, and I cannot explain why.Last edited by Deme; 2011-03-14 at 07:18 PM.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
Because DD is a constant cycle of raising hopes for improvement, and dashing them mercilessly against the ground. GC cannot evoke such feelings; it is horrible in every way, and creates no illusions that it could ever be any better than it is. But with DD you can feel the agony of wasted potential in every strip.

Oh wow panel 6. Just... wow.
Definitely one of the most three dimensional.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
FlashRah's had enough but it's SNEAKY GATE TIME. (Future link for those inclined)
That's... that's a pretty good reason to be freaked out about seers. The implication that you're living in a world with no free will. Points to Taz!
And Dominic neatly sidesteps the issue? The upshot of visions of the future within DD is that if you can see it, it can be changed (except for fated fatals, but nobody likes them), so I guess there's a reinforcement there.
They're both being reasonable! Hugs for everyone!Last edited by rocketpony; 2011-03-15 at 12:09 AM.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
And Dominic pulls another "resistant sword" moment.
"We see visions of the future which means we know what's going to happen. But don't worry, we actually only look in the past to see what you've done."
In what universe does that make sense?
Also: Dominic basically describes his role in the comic in Panel 3. That is exactly what he does in every frickin' Arc!Lead Designer for Oracle Hunter GamesToday a Blog, Tomorrow a Business!

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
I don't know, the way I read "We see what you've already done" as when looking into the future, it is something that the person has actually done. Seers are looking at history, just like anyone else. The difference is, they have the ability to skip a few chapters ahead, and in doing so are able to rewrite some of that history. If my text is blue, I'm being sarcastic. But you already knew that, right?
