    I always just assumed he picked the first one that appeared in the smilies box on the right (it changes for some reason) and let everyone wonder exactly what the smilies were for. That seems a very Burlewian thing to do.

    I think they mean it's creepy because it's tracking down a real human being's emotions, as opposed to information on entirely fictional characters. I think you thought that they meant "creepy" as in "obsessive," in which case I'd say all 3 are equally "creepy."

    I personally don't find it creepy (It could be considered good insight into how a man views his own work and characters!), but I do find it less useful than tracking character appearances. However, it is far more useful than the facepalm count could ever hope to be.
