Dragos
Don't suppose text color is all that important, but out of habit I'll do that here too and go with "Red"
Barbarians are pretty easy strategy wise I'm pretty sure Rage, charge, hack viciously with large sword, keep others free for magical/sneaky shenanigans.

Re: Boss Rush - Group 2
Hatia has always been done in Dark Orange, might as well maintain the habit.
Also, the recruitment thread said 2 flaws 1 trait, is that still open?
And being a level 1 Warmage, I only have 2 decent options:
Magic Missile spam(average 14 damage over 4 rounds)
Fist of Stone - Truestrike -attack -truestrike -attack -truestrike -attack(average 16 damage over 7 roundsLast edited by Shade Kerrin; 2011-02-04 at 05:32 PM.

Interestingly enough, this group has a player named Darius, while the other group has a character by the same name. Hurray, confusion!

Re: Boss Rush - Group 2
Greetings dear adventurers! You have been hired to eliminate a menace, to protect a village from a local bandit gang. You organized the villagers into a makeshift militia, patroled the surrounding roads, fought bandits, tracked them all the way to their camp, defeated them, and made the countryside safe again. Or have you?
The bandits' leader, an illegitimate son of a local noble, managed to escape. Hot on his trail, you discovered he's in the nearest city, possibly attempting to recruit new people to the gang. He must be stopped!
You received information he's in a local tavern, The Green Goblin, and that is where the final confrontation will take place.
Location: common room of a tavern.
Features: Furniture, innocent bystanders.
Lighting: sufficient
Buffing time: 1 round before charging in.Last edited by Vladislav; 2011-02-05 at 01:30 AM.

Sum
Looking over at Dragos, the puny fire elf says to the human, "Give me the nod, and I will make you as big as an ogre!"
ooc: Will enlarge Dragos if he would like AND if he will still fit in the door.
Also, do we know what this guy looks like? Do we know anything else about this guy? Henchmen with him, weapons used, caster, etc?Last edited by Darius; 2011-02-05 at 12:14 AM.

Re: Boss Rush - Group 2
Eric the Cleric
Eric had blessed the party before going on this merry chase and had locked the spell to last the entire day. The seasoned cleric casts detect magic so that he may separate the more powerful target from the others in the room based off of magical items or effects in place. He then readies his shield and morningstar before entering.

Re: Boss Rush - Group 2
I haven't actually decided on the door size, so to be fair, let's randomize
(1d2)[2]
1 = double door, can enter Enlarged at no penalty
2 = regualr door; if Enlarged, he'll have to squeeze, meaning he loses his first round action.
You know what he looks like. For everything else, you can try a DC 20 Gather Information check, if you want. I have to warn you though, fail by 10 or more, and he will be aware you're looking for him. Which could be bad.
In other news, Eric the Cleric is NG, and Deathwatch has the Evil descriptor.

Re: Boss Rush - Group 2
A grunt of agreement given to Hatai, and at the sign of readiness from the others the big man pushes his way through the door. A quick look around the room given, scanning for their target as he steps in to allow the others quick access. "Which one of you is getting the first round?" called back in his best attempt to avoid being noticed as anything more than casual patrons.

Re: Boss Rush - Group 2
A tall dark-haired Elf stands up from behind one of the tables; his body is covered in a dull-gray chain shirt, and he moves with deadly grace and precision. The armor, as well as his sheathed blade glows faint with the light of magic in Eric's eyes.
So, you've come for me, you who have given me so much trouble in the past. You have bested my bandits, defeated my traps, but now you must face me. So come. Come and let us finish this little game.

Re: Boss Rush - Group 2
Eric the Cleric
Scanning the crowd, it is obvious to Eric that Guy Bad needed to be stopped. He calls out in a heroic voice, "Give it up, villain, you are DOOMED!" He casts a spell and moves to D6.
ooc:
Cast doom on BG. Will DC 14 or shaken.
A shaken character takes a -2 penalty on attack rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks.
Anything magical by the way?
Party Effects:
+1 morale bonus on attack rolls and on saving throws against fear effects.[/QUOTE]
I am worried.

Re: Boss Rush - Group 2
The elf's taken aback by the spell effect, sneering evilly, we'll see who's doomed here. For but a brief second, he assesses his enemies ...
SpoilerKnowledge (local) check to fuel Knowledge Devotion (1d20+5)[8]
He advances toward the priest, drawing his rapier as he does so. As he stabs with the weapon, Eric sees blue electric sparks surrounding the blade. Quite possibly, it will be the last thing he sees in this life ...
SpoilerMove to E7, attack (1d20+8)[18], damage (1d6+1)[3] plus (3d6)[10] electricity. [[Bonuses from Knowledge Devotion to be added]] EDIT bonuses from Knowledge devotion are +1 attack and damage
EDIT 2: I don't think it matters, but in case it does, Shocking Grasp also provides +3 to attack roll against metal armor. Seems like he 1-shotted you anyway ...Last edited by Vladislav; 2011-02-05 at 09:40 PM.

Re: Boss Rush - Group 2
Final Edit to hide stuff so less cluttery.
Spoiler
ooc: Um, since he failed his save, he missed, correct? -2 to attack due to shaken affect.
edit: The only reason why I ask is because I am going to assume that it was a rapier of spell storing and it had the shocking grasp.
spell storing weapons cast the spell after hitting, if I recall:
Spell Storing: A spell storing weapon allows a spellcaster to store a single targeted spell of up to 3rd level in the weapon. (The spell must have a casting time of 1 standard action.) Any time the weapon strikes a creature and the creature takes damage from it, the weapon can immediately cast the spell on that creature as a free action if the wielder desires. (This special ability is an exception to the general rule that casting a spell from an item takes at least as long as casting that spell normally.)
Edit #2 Also, I am a wee bit concerned the CR may be off seeing the rolls and basing it off of the spell storing item hunch. A +2 weapon is 8000gp, right? If he has that and is a normal 3rd level character (which is what I thought we would be up against and since the shocking grasp was 3d6), that is beyond wealth by level for a PC (2700gp) let alone an NPC (2500gp). This doesn't take into effect his enchanted armor, either.
All was explained and rectified. No worries!Last edited by Margrave; 2011-02-06 at 12:26 AM.

Re: Boss Rush - Group 2
Sum
ooc:
SpoilerI deleted Sum's actions after taking a look at full-round actions (the enlarge person spell) and it would be a waste for him to try to cast enlarge person at this time with the barbarian half way across the room and Sum unable to move and cast the spell.
The following actions are based off of the cleric taking a dirt nap...
IC:
Sum moves to within 15' to C5 and reaches into his spell component pouch for some colored sand and flings it into the air towards his foe.
ooc: cast color spray, Will DC 16 (don't forget the -2 due to being shaken)
Color Spray Effects:
Spoiler
2 HD or less
The creature is unconscious, blinded, and stunned for 2d4 rounds (2d4)[5], then blinded and stunned for 1d4 rounds (1d4)[2], and then stunned for 1 round. (Only living creatures are knocked unconscious.)
3 or 4 HD
The creature is blinded and stunned for 1d4 rounds, then stunned for 1 round. (1d4)[3]
5 or more HD
The creature is stunned for 1 round.
