(3.5) Clerics and Versatile spellcaster
Does the ability to spontaneously cast cure/inflict spells allow clerics to qualify for versatile spellcaster? And if not, is there another way they can? Also would sacrificing two 8th level spells as a level 15 cleric allow me to cast a level 9 domain spell?

im a little sketchy on the details but i believe that the "spontaneous" Cure/Inflict spells aren't really spontaneous because they still burn a prepared spell slot, even if it wasn't that spell specifically.
thats just how i run my dungeon personally but you could do something entirely different

Persistent choose destiny it is
Two more questions: Does the Arcane Disciple (magic domain) feat allow me to to qualify for dweomerkeeper? And if I took arcane disciple for a first level wizard would I be allowed to convert my cleric spells with versatile spellcaster to high level spells from that domain?Last edited by Goonthegoof; 2011-03-04 at 12:20 AM.

On a straight Arcane Caster? No. A cleric with the spell domain might. Since Anyspell calls them arcane spells, and doesn't mention that you change their type. It's a DM call, that if you know in advance you can roll with either way. Either they are Divine so you can persist Wraithstrike with DMM, or they are Arcane which opens up several PrC/feat options. Uncanny Forethought for the entire cleric spell list, for example.
Versatile Spellcaster is written in an overly simplistic way. It, by default, allows you to use any two x level slots to cast any spell you know of level X+1. Any DM who thinks about the ramifications of this, combined with multiclassing and full list casters, will probably be able to nerf it in a matter of seconds.Dex
