Re: Happy HalfTangible's Horrific Hail of Random Banter #156
You realise that in me and Curly you are talking to two of the biggest Discworld fans on this forum? Because you are.
The UU library did cross my mind, because the Librarian sleeps there, but my mental image was a single image. I didn't imagine myself wandering through this hypothetical library, just there were shelves, and books, and a bed.
I was going to say something about how that insult is only applied to males, but then it occurred to me that that's actually very strange. Why, in English, do we only insult males by insinuating that they were born out of wedlock? Well, I suppose the meaning of the word has kind of moved on, it's become just a generic insult for men, while actually being born out of wedlock has become more commonplace and not such a big deal - but etymologically speaking it's still rather strange."'But there's still such a lot to be done...'

Re: Happy HalfTangible's Horrific Hail of Random Banter #156
This... Hair on my face is noticeable and I was starting to get some noticeable hair inbetween my eyebrows (UNIBROW BAD) so I went to shave it. I did, but I got a bit of one Eyebrow, so I thought that I should make it symmetrical.
For about half a second I thought about shaving them both of completely.
EDIT: I also cut my nose in the process. Damn my lack of Dexterity.

Re: Happy HalfTangible's Horrific Hail of Random Banter #156
I was pretty certain in that knowledge. It's been a year or two, but I still remember a thing or two about this place. Also, you forgot the desk. The librarian likes to hide under it whenever things get bad.
Edit: Oh yes, also, does anyone know when his next book is slated to be released in the States? The last one we had was I Shall Wear Midnight.Last edited by Vonriel; 2011-03-26 at 12:23 PM.

Re: Happy HalfTangible's Horrific Hail of Random Banter #156
We have a very, very sharp pair of scissors, and a sharpening stone for them. And I was six, you can still see the scar actually.
I never implied that you didn't.
That is my eventual goal you know, but 1630-odd books isn't quite enough to cover an entire room quite yet. Give me time, give me time. Big old fashioned shelves, stocked to the brim with books of every shape and colour and size. And here's the important bit: haphazardly alphabetised with casual abandon.
It is nice though, I suppose, being renowned for my massive . . . number of books, as opposed to physical attributes.
ZOGMAGOG!
VONRIEL!!
I haven't seen you in years, where you been all this time?!
As for the L-Space library, while you were gone I ascended into the Playground pantheon as Goddess of the Written Word. Koorly (and Koorilithulu) were long ago sealed into an infinite dimension of books to prevent her/them from destroying the multiverse.
Sadly I read them all, and popped over here for a visit. So not so sad after all.
Point is, before I got sidetracked, that library is where I live in another dimension.
Exponential smilies are good. And as far as seriousness goes: something can be true and silly at the same time.
Oh my. Well, it's a good show, and if you can give it a watch.
But it's not.
I freely call myself a bastard. And historically a bastard is a bastard no matter the gender.
Although the higher up the social status you go, the more likely you are to be called illegitimate as opposed to a bastard.
No matter how long you leave for, you always remember information about the people here.
Bathatar!
Squid bones are lies.

Re: Happy HalfTangible's Horrific Hail of Random Banter #156
Well, of course you can be silly and still stating something that is true, but I'm not quite siure about whether that would qualify as a serious answer, or just a correct answer...
Also, this is totally your fault:
x=3
Yes, I will do so... one day...
And now my brain is hurting from trying to swap "bastard" for "illegitimate" in the phrase "lucky bastard".Last edited by Teddy; 2011-03-26 at 06:22 PM.

Colleges. I'll be lucky if I can get into an underfunded and unremarkable state school at this point...

Woah. Ouch.
...I'm really curious about this now. This isn't even just an excuse to ask you to post pictures like usual.
*Swoons*
Not that your physical attributes aren't also lovely, but yeah. Erudition and bibliophilia are hot.
I feel like I occupy that area of ambiguity like 50% the time
Never heard it used for females before now (Except for possibly in a literal sense). The female equivalent insult in my experience would be bitch.
ION: I want to be better from this cold. The coughing is getting less, but it's still enough to be pretty annoying, and it seems my body decided to make up for the reduction in coughing by giving me nosebleeds.
Why is this thus? What is the reason for this thusness?
Explain to me.

I would imagine that would be easier than thinking a lie is a truth. How easily can you force yourself to becoming flustered and panicked? Pretty easily, I would think. That's all you need to do.

What does she teach? And yes; polygraph aren't known for their accuracy in detecting lies as much as that if they say you're telling the truth there is a decent chance you're telling the truth.
Also: why haven't I posted in this thread yet?
And the cute Kurlythulu is gone and replaced by a repulsive pony... I miss the brain twisting abomination.

You can never go wrong with drinking games! Heh, that was a good xkcd, even if I do live in Australia. We Aussies have the decency to always just be "down under" for ease of naming conventions
Oh, thank you very much KuReshtin, sorry you had to weight on my reply though.
