    Default Shatter/baleful utterance question.

When targeted against an enemies non magical weapon, does the weapon just straight up shatter or do I roll the 1d6 / caster level to inflict damage to weapon to break it?

The enemy gets a will save to negate.

It gets the wielder's will saving throw, as an attended item. If the wielder fails, the weapon just breaks- the damage roll only comes into play when Shatter is used against a crystalline creature, because otherwise it'd be a save-or-die against them.

Thanks for the quick replies. Doing a melee focused warlock and thought it funny to have a fighter or barbarian run up to me, speak a syllable of dark speak and shatter said weapon. And then wipe that stupid look off their face with my eldritch glaive!
