Carol waves the drone past. "Go ahead and see TED if you want."

Courtyard

Sue grits his teeth and closes his eyes, trying to calm himself down. He's a massive man, but as he begins to settle, he seems to shrink a bit. After a moment, he reaches to where the blade is stuck in his arm and pulls it out slowly without a wince, his mind on other things.

Arla and Bugs go around to the soldiers, fixing wounds and bring those who were knocked out back to consciousness.

The soldier at Idari's feet groans and begins to try to pick himself up.

Carl's Place

Carl wants to say more, but curses after she leaves the room. He sighs and hits his forehead on the wall a couple times before going to take a shower. He had several days of leave now, so he might as well use them.

Infirmary

Anna absorbs any magic tossed at her for a while, but the monitors begin to start to go erratic, showing vitals that are too strong for her condition. Edijar will try to set a hand on Feia's shoulder. "I think you better stop now."

Gate

Dizzy nods. "You'll have to wait a while though, our casters are otherwise busy." One was in a coma, another unconscious, another busy healing people, and the last patrolling Inside.

Feia will, of course, stop once alerted to this fact.
She was mildly booking on the body rejecting further magics upon reaching capacity.

The sorceress seems mildly surprised.
"Hm...of course. She really shouldn't have taken in more than she would normally possess, however..."

Idari crouches down. "One of the medics will be here soon, okay?"

[Zefir]

Gate

Dizzy nods. "You'll have to wait a while though, our casters are otherwise busy." One was in a coma, another unconscious, another busy healing people, and the last patrolling Inside.

He sits down the position he is and drags a magazine out and starts reading.

Machine Shop

Nobody has to ask if Carl has recovered. Sunny is radiating happiness as she works.

Courtyard

Delisle puts a hand on his. "You're pretty amazing, you know?"

Carl's Place

Carl will probably hear the panting and yapping of puppies even before the knocking. It's Charity.

Infirmary

Anna begins to glow red and radiate a lot of heat as her body begins to bleed off the excess Magic. "You might want to get out." Edijar warns Feia, unbothered by the extreme heat. Everything in the room begins to smoke and char.

Courtyard

"I would have killed them if I lost control." Sue admits. There's no might have to his tone, telling her that he's absolutely sure they couldn't have stopped him.

The soldier at Idari's feet sits up and his helmet slips back into the armor, letting her see a red-haired man with plain features shake his head. "What happened?" He asks, unable to remember the trauma of being knocked out.

Carl's Place

Carl finishes the pulling on his robe with a sigh and answers the door. Once he sees Charity, he gives her a slight smile. "Thanks." She'll be able to tell that even though he's happy, and practically glowing, something's wrong.

"I know," Delisle says, giving his hand a squeeze.

Carl's Place

Archer is franticly delighted to see Carl. Jyarl's puppy doesn't see what the big deal is, and goes looking for the source of the waffle smell. Charity leans down to give Carl a tight hug. "It's so good to see you." And after releasing him. "Where's Sunny?"

Carl's Place

Carl gives her a hug back before sighing. "I...I think I put her off. She's off working." He heads back to his seat to pick at the remains of his breakfast. "Waffles?" He asks her with a bit of disinterest as he sets half of one on a plate on the floor for the pups.

Courtyard

Bugs comes over and Sue nods to him before he's stitched up. Now that the adrenaline is dying, he gives a wince when he's treated. He's always hated needles.

Carl's Place

"What happened?" Charity asks, accepting the waffles.

Courtyard

Delisle waits as he's being stitched up. "Wanna join me for a drink in the rec center?"

Courtyard

Sue thinks the offer over for a moment before nodding. "Pool?" He asks as he stands and follows her.

The trooper in front of the exalt groans and holds his chest a bit, obviously in pain before Arla comes over to heal him.

Carl's Place

Carl sighs and lets out what happened during breakfast, needing to tell someone.

Idari looks at him in concern. "He going to be okay?"

"I'm terrible at it, but you've got sutures all over, so I might stand a chance," Alice says with a rare smile.

Carl's Place

"And... now that the excitement of the moment is over, you're having doubts?" Charity asks. A small part of her is upset at him for risking her sister's happiness, but a much much larger part understands doubts all too well.

Carl's Place

Carl shakes his head. "No, that's not it. I love her, and I want to marry her, no questions asked. But..." he sighs. "Before this point, everything, everything we did, had been planned, to make sure she didn't do anything she was uncomfortable with, but now, all that's out the window. I want to make sure she's thinking clearly, that this is what she really wants at the moment."

Courtyard

Arla murmurs a prayer to Horus, and a flash of golden light leaps from her hand to the soldier, healing what damage was done. "He will be, but he needs to rest."

Carl's Place

"So you think she's caught up in the excitement of the moment," Charity says, reaching down to swat at a puppy who is tearing at her shoelaces. "Carl, maybe she is, or maybe she isn't, but either way, she isn't going anywhere. You mean the world to her."

Carl's Place

Carl sighs and looks down, rubbing his arm. "I know that, but... I am. Or might." he admits quietly.

Carl's Place

Charity closes her eyes, thinking of all the times she's been by Edijar's hospital bed. Thinking of the haunted look in Sunny's eyes the past few days. Thinking of looking down on her own body when her heart stopped.

And then she thought of Rebecca, a woman she had never met, but felt like she knew from the hole she had left in Edijar's heart.

"I think Sunny understands that, Carl. Now, more than ever."

Walls

Carol waves the drone past. "Go ahead and see TED if you want."

Yay! The drone says, flying over to TED.

There's some conversation, and after a little while the flying drone rests on TED and it's screen turns off.

Infirmary

Anna begins to glow red and radiate a lot of heat as her body begins to bleed off the excess Magic. "You might want to get out." Edijar warns Feia, unbothered by the extreme heat. Everything in the room begins to smoke and char.

"You wound me."
Why would she want to leave, and potentially miss something she hasn't seen before? The Nexus seems to be the only place to consistently pull little stunts like this, and she isn't interested in missing it.

Besides, it's only heat. Perhaps mild chance of explosion.
Without some much as a twitch from Feia, a frosty rime begins spreading across her body and dress, the temperature in her immediate air space dropping like a rock. A wonderful little heat sink.

One hand may be be producing an ornately filled circle glyph however, likely something to cover the small chance of explosion.
Or maybe to ensure her dress doesn't catch on fire. No need for Edijar to have a naked sorceress hanging around.

Infirmary

Several alarms go off, and the door seals. Edijar's helmet unfolds and slides over his head, showing a blank sheet of metal where his face was, except for a pair of glowing green eyes.

The oxygen levels begin to drop in the room as it's consumed as fire breaks out. "That is why." Edijar tells her even though she probably can't tell what he means until it begins to get hard to breath.

Carl's Place

He sighs and doesn't look up, a bit ashamed of his selfishness. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have made a big deal out of it. When Sunny tells you, please act surprised."

[Infirmary]

Edijar needs to learn specificity.

Feia tilts her head a bit more at the alarms, before figuring out what's happening.
Clever, perhaps, and seems like something an excessively pragmatic military would do.

She still doesn't want to miss anything, but their little reality lock keeps her from at least three simpler plans.
So instead of any of those, she wipes out the upper half of her glyph and replaces it with something else.

Moments later, the infirmary will have a new statue.

Carl's Place

"Hey, don't look so glum. The best girl in the world is in love with you." Charity gives Carl another hug. "Whenever it happens, welcome to the family. You're good for her."

Infirmary

Edijar doesn't seem too worried, but punches out the glass window, letting the heat and excess magic escape. After a while, equilibrium is achieved, and Anna's body begins to stop glowing and the heat subsides.

Carl's Place

Carl hugs her back. "Thanks, Charity. That means a lot to me."

"You want me to keep the puppies a little longer?" Charity offers.

The Feia statue watches rather impassively, only taking a moment to adjust the floating glyph in front of itself to the back of its left hand.
"On the bright side, it appears the mage friend is recovering rather nicely."
On the darker side, sustainability and efficiency experts everywhere are crying about the wasted energy just let out the window.

[Earl of Purple]

Outside

A man in green platemail armour crafted from ankheg chitin approaches. He is not wearing a helmet, revealing brown hair and eyes as well as a handsome face. He is of medium height, and the platemail conceals his build (though it's probably rather more muscular than fatty due to fact it's platemail). At his waist is a spiked morningstar and a holstered automatic pistol with a flintlock-type grip. Accompanying him is a black-haired and green-eyed nineteen year old girl wearing a simple, well-made tunic and loose trousers, gazing worriedly at the world around her.

Most High Reverend Terrowin of Xela's Howe, whose title may soon always have been 'deacon', will walk to a guard, guardhouse or gate.

Carl's Place

Carl thinks about it for a moment before shaking his head. "No, it's okay Charity. You've helped me more than you needed to already. Just please, don't tell Sunny about this."

Infirmary

Edijar leans against a solid wall and grabs a nearby magazine to wait for Feia to turn back to normal as the emergency doors slides back, opening the room again.

Terrowin

He'll see that the foundation of the landing pad for Remnant is still curing, but a small pad has been set down nearby, guarded. If he knows such things, it's a teleportation pad, set up to lead him to the floating base.

Carl's Place

"I won't. But I'll try and convince her to come back here for a hot lunch, okay?" She leaves the puppies behind, and, unless he has anything else to say, will head out to look for Sunny.

Terrowin

Terrowin and Rebecka will walk to the teleportation pad. He doesn't know what it is, but he can guess. "Hello there. I wish to speak to one of your superiors, if I may."
