"Hm..." He thinks a moment. The drowpire's fingers make a complex motion and the bird peels away from the page. It chirps a couple times before flying off.

"Yes, simple enough. Here." He offers the notepad and pencil to Sarah. "Draw whatever you want."

Ermine is a shapeshifting ermine. Everyone from her home planet is a shapeshifting animal. So she assumes intelligent animals shapeshift. Not odd.

Speaking off odd, the pirate gives the monkey an odd look.

Alysha stares for a moment, definitely shocked.

Oh...um...I'm sorry. I didn't mean to offend you or anything. It's just, you're so cute! I can't help it! So, uh, Mtumishi, can I still hug you nicely?

After glaring at this girl for a few moments, Mtumishi responds with a heavy sigh
"If you must, I suppose. Just don't stray too far from my master, it is my unfortunate duty to guard him as he sleeps, so if you step too lengthy a distance from him, I shall have to return to him. Also, please be gentle. "

Alysha almost jumps for joy.

And true to her word, Mtumishi gets a nice hug from the peppy vampire.

Sarah takes it happily, only momentarily mesmerized by the bird's flight. She ecstatically draws... a blob. With a bunch of little lines and circles on it.

"Now. Do as I do." He holds out his hand and does a simpler version of the hand motion he did.

"And then say this." He tells her the spoken component of the spell.

Overall it's much more complex that what she has done before.

She sounds mildly serious at the moment, though.

Sarah doesn't look intimidated by the complexity. She tries readily, failing at first, before trying again. Repeatedly.

There's a spark of magic, and the little ooze with tiny useless mouths slides off her page. It sort of crawls on her shoe and sits there contentedly.

I realize normally this'd take a lot more practice, but that'd be boring.

This is evidently a leading question. If he doesn't know, she'll be telling him.
She seems intrigued enough by...something, that she isn't even getting grumpy about his tone.

Practice is for chumps anyway. Besides, Sarah must have some sort of sorceress based magic. Yeah, that's it.

"Very good." Ghar smiles slightly, pleased with her ability. "Perhaps we should teach you at a quicker pace, at least with the evocation magics. With your healing they pose little harm to you."

[Kirk's Head]

Essentially. The leadership went up in smoke and now everybody wants a piece of the pie. I imagine that includes AMEN. I'd be surprised if it didn't. Can't imagine it doesn't apply to you either. I can't say I know what other factions are involved, if any. I know GLoG sent some people to assist the wounded in Inside. Watch might do something, if they already haven't. NO could have got hired. The important player will be the Empire and AMEN though.

So the question is, what do you want me to do?

By this time Kirk has stopped walking and is staring blankly into the distance.

AMEN has already made their move. There is presently a rather large scale conflict between the two.
There is a moment of silence, while she considers something.
The Empire remnant have employed an interesting defense mechanism that seems to have adjusted the tide.

Does GLoG have a means of communicating with the Empire?

"That'd be fine." Sarah says distractedly, stooping to pick up her new pet. She looks at the crazy little thing, which stares back with a rather dull gaze. "Do I have to feed it like a real pet, or...?"

Kirk shrugs, without thinking about the fact she isn't right there.

They could. It doesn't seem unreasonable. I imagine there is some sort of magic means of contacting them. Hells, they probably have a phone number. I can't imagine a group as technologically advanced as the Empire doesn't have phones.

[Lakeside]

Ghar shakes his head. "It won't need anything to eat, but you will need to sustain it another way. After twenty four hours it will return to the paper it was drawn from. You can cast the same spell on it to get it to last longer, and do the same to the paper when it returns to it."

The remnant will fall, if measures are not taken. I need you to look into communicating with them. Immediately.
There is a definite stress on the "immediately".
It's difficult to tell whether she speaks with urgency or excitement.

"Okay." Sarah says, nodding and looking at it happily. Of course, she'll be keeping it with her all the time now. "Thank you, Master."

The creature wiggles a little, looking lazy.

Of course, Mistress. And what do I do once I've found out how to contact them?

Ghar nods and smiles. "Don't forget your lesson tomorrow. I will see you then." And with that he vanishes.

Lesson will likely be off screen because I can't come up with anything interesting at the moment.

Sarah nods, blinking and staring at the vanishing, before skipping off to show everyone her new mini-shoggy!

I have offered the Empire my aid once, already. Previously they had no real need of my services and were confident of their position.
I believe times have changed. They have an AMEN problem and I'd be willing to aid with it.
And oh how fun it would be.

The drow makes his way over to the main cabin and pulls out a huge tome. What dark arts will he be preforming to contact the Empire even through the Warlock Wheel?

Oh wait... It's the Nexus phone book. Dang is that thing big. Kirk flips through it until he gets to the turquoise pages and runs his finger along the names, looking for the number. After a few moments of this he stops.

Mistress? I've found it.

She'll be honest here, this is a piece of intel she lacks.

I am surprised at times, how this city can be so advanced and primitive all at the same time.
It's always so confusing. She's danced through worlds of various technological prowess, but this one always seems to be hopping around...

Of course. Kirk replies before the connection cuts off.

He shakes his head and mutters. "Woman doesn't even have a phone book."

He probably slips off into deadtime again. Although he plans on tracking down Din. With the infirmary fixed he can finally get on with the whole learning to heal thing.

[Rowan Cabin - Ghar's Room]

Ghar is in his room, reading a massive tome as usual. He's just sitting there, completely unsuspecting.

If Ghar takes the opportunity to look directly upwards any time within the next 30 second, he will see a... child? An adolescent boy seems to be materializing a little at a time in the air about him. He has short brown hair and pale skin, though his eyes are closed. He can't be older than twelve. Currently, he's dressed in pants that are too large for him and a shirt that has had the left sleeve ripped off - he doesn't even have any shoes on his dirty feet.

If Ghar hasn't noticed him by the time he finishes materializing, he'll yell, "Whoa!" and likely go crashing down onto the Drowpire

[Rowan Cabin - Ghar's Room]

Ghar doesn't need to bother looking up. Magic is being used near him, so he's instantly aware of it.

He glances up curiously, but then immediately goes back to his reading. when the boy falls he will find he's going forward at an angle so he misses the drowpire.

[Outside Main Cabin]

Haruki approaches the door and knocks on it. Actually, knocking is a bit of an understatement. He nearly breaks it down. "HELLO! Is there anyone home?"

[Rowan Cabin - Ghar's Room]

Terrance hits the floor knees first, barely managing to stop his head from hitting the wood. "Oooow..." he says, standing up. Once he's taken a good look at his knees, he'll start looking around the cabin, trying to figure out where he is.

It'll take him a moment to gather his wits and realize that there's someone else there, and that this is likely his room. Once he realizes that Ghar is there, he'll bow his head and back up a bit, holding his hands out above his head. perhaps a sign of submission where he comes from?

"I'm sorry sir! I didn't mean to intrude!"

"Then perhaps you should tell me why you are here?" Ghar says without looking up from his book.

Kirk was in the cabin not long ago, so let's say he's still there. He opens the door.
