Terrance blinks at her response. Well, what more was he expecting from the girl with the pet shoggoth?

"I'll have to hear that story sometime. But... Isn't it getting close to time for our lesson?" Terrance looks up at the sky, judging what time it is from where the sun is.

"Hey, it is!" Sarah says, going to take Mr. Gloopy back from her deadtimed friend Brinika. "See you later, Brinika! I gotta go!"

With that, she sets off towards the lake at a fast pace. "C'mon!"

[Halae]

[Outside]

Terrance will run after her. In fact, it'll probably develop into a race as they run.

[Murkus]

[Outside --> Lakeside]

Just how old is Terrance?

Cuz if he's an older kid or a teenager, I imagine his long strides carry him through. Object or no, Sarah's only so fast.

Panting a little, she looks up at him, grinning. Whatever the result, I'd imagine.

[Halae]

[Lakeside]

He's eleven years old, so his legs aren't a whole lot longer than Sarah's, though they are longer. However, he has this honor thing his dad put in him, so he'll probably try to stay just ahead of Sarah, to make her feel like she had a good chance

In any case, they arrive! Just waiting for their esteemed master now, I guess

[Gullara]

Them waiting for him? Don't be silly. There he is waiting for them.

Ghar looks up as the pair approach. "You've already been acquainted. Good."

"Now, first thing's first." Ghar attempts to punch through any mental defenses Terrance may have with a spike of mental force. This is to test the strength of any mental defenses he may have. This attack, for that's what it is, may cause Terrance to collapse. Now I'm not going to dictate how strong they are of course, but Ghar should probably be able to break in. >.>

[Halae]

[Lakeside]

There's a minor mental barrier, but it's nowhere near strong enough to deal with the archmage. Still, it's above average for an adult man. Doesn't stop Terrance from falling on his face though.

Assuming it was just a quick jab, he'll get up right after, looking confused

"Master Ghar!" Sarah says, putting her little hands on her hips and huffing exasperatedly at her teacher. "That's still not nice to do."

[Gullara]

[Lakeside]

The drowpire smiles slightly. "Perhaps not, but it is necessary."

"It's good to see that you have some mental barriers, Terrance. It'll be a good place to start. Now, before we begin, I will need to take stock of your ability. Cast three spells. Keep them varied. I will be able to get an indication of your ability from that."

[Halae]

[Lakeside]

Terrance nods, "Right,"

He focuses for a moment, weaving his hands and mumbling quietly. it should be noted that he's turned to the side at this point. Along with his first spell there's a small flash and at the spot he points at there appears... a badger? This is no ordinary badger though - It's a Celestial Badger!

For his second spell, he waves a hand as if throwing something and a pair of blue darts made of pure force fly towards the badger. when they hit, the poor thing disappears in another flash.

For his final spell, Terrance mumbles something else and makes an uplifting motion. A concave disc made of golden force appears beside him, like a 3-foot wide bowl. He climbs in and floats in a circle around Sarah before getting off and letting it vanish

[Lakeside]

"Terrance, you didn't say you had a pet too - awww." Sarah looks crestfallen as the badger disappears. But still very impressed by the display. She giggles as he flies around, watching him complete the circle before turning to Ghar. "Awesome!"

[Gullara]

[Lakeside]

Small scale stuff. Of course, that was to be expected, but he can work with it.

"Good good. You're a bit behind for your age, but you have some capability." Ghar really does ask a lot from his students.

"Now, I thought we'd deviate from evocation for a time and try some summoning magic." Ghar gestures for his apprentices to come nearer. "First we will try to summon a crow. They are very useful for spying and looking over far distances if you know the proper spell to link your senses."

Ghar shows them the appropriate hand motions and tells them the words.

I expect mischief to come of this spell. >.>

[Halae]

He's teaching a pair of children how to spy on others. There's no way this won't end in mischief

"Yes, Master," Terrance says formally. Oddly, the movements seem to him to be nearly the same as his first spell, just with slightly different movements.

The first time he tries the spell he stops himself half way through, then starts again. The second time though, he completes the spell, and there'll suddenly be a crow flapping it's wings in the air, much to the boy's delight. It'll then land on his shoulder, and he'll turn to Sarah and watch her, an encouraging smile on his face

[Haruki-kun]

[Main Cabin]

"Yes,thank you that would be best. See you around."

Haruki turns around.

Sees the tiger.

Is pounced.

His expression doesn't look scared, merely surprised as he's pinned to the ground. And then, "OH! What a cute tiger!" He starts petting the animal.

[Gullara]

[Main Cabin]

Kirk nods and leaves Ruki with the tiger. He finishes writing the note and sticks it on the message board that the Main Cabin totally has.

Be on the lookout for unusual vampire activity.

[Morty]

[Main Cabin]

Reelshka is examining the message board. Unusual vampire activity... does that mean vampires who don't suck blood out of people? They had two such vampires here. Whoever left this message was being unclear.

Sophie is sitting by her cabin, looking a bit distressed.

[Reinholdt]

[Main Cabin]

"Yes,thank you that would be best. See you around."

Haruki turns around.

Sees the tiger.

Is pounced.

His expression doesn't look scared, merely surprised as he's pinned to the ground. And then, "OH! What a cute tiger!" He starts petting the animal.

Yay! Pillow! Mister Buttons purrs loudly and licks at Haruki's face.

[The Bushranger]

Meanwhile, Quinn and Mikani return, presumably with ghost!Irene accompanying them.

[Main Cabin]

"So cute and cuddly!" Haruki puts his arms around the beast's neck and hugs it tightly for a moment, then gets up. "How did you people even come across such a cool animal? Why's he here?"

[The Bushranger]

"He's my dad's animal companion," Mikani observes, as she buzzes over to Haruki and Mister Buttons.

The angel, more than likely, still pinned by the big cat.

[Haruki-kun]

[Main Cabin]

The Angel is actually free by now*. He's just petting the Tiger. "Oh, hi, Mikani. Your dad's huh? Yeah, Animal companions are nice. Who's your dad?"

*((Reinholdt is away and said it was OK.))

[Me.]

Tumbili undeadtimes and jumps at the sight of the large jungle cat. He smiles, happy to finally see another animal, he will then make an attempt to go over to it, perhaps hug it or pet it, maybe even communicate with it....

[Murkus]

"Cool! 'Nother pet!" Sarah says, mostly joking. She watches how Terrance does it, returning the smile, before attempting the spell herself.

It takes two or three tries. She finds pulling something from another place to be more difficult than her prior practice.

There's a strange noise, and a crow simply unfolds out of space on her shoulder. The bird, once fully expanded, gives a raucous caw.

The little blonde grins at the pair of them, reaching up to pet her crow. It pecks at her hand, but she doesn't seem to care.

[Infirmary]

There is a ten-foot alien here, passed out on one of the beds. His strange legs and feet are handing off the end, the cot bending beneath his weight. He does not appear to be sleeping peacefully, perhaps in pain, and his burnt face might help one make note of this.

[Reinholdt]

Meanwhile, Quinn and Mikani return, presumably with ghost!Irene accompanying them.

"This is a pretty nice place you got here." Irene's always been fond of nature.

[Main Cabin]

Mister Buttons looks at the monkey curiously. Then looks at Mikani, clearly hopeful.
Can he eat it? Can he can he please?!

Ah.
"Tobias Druid," Mikani says proudly, before giving Mister Buttons a 'don't eat the monkey but I'll give you a good fish' look!

"This is a pretty nice place you got here." Irene's always been fond of nature.

"I'd like to think so. It's been somewhat...stressful, at times," Quinn admits with a sigh. "I hope things have calmed down some now though..."
Pfft. As if.

[Reinholdt]

[Main Cabin]

Mister Buttons practically snubs Misaki when he turns back to look at Tumbili.

With hungry eyes. It's been forever since he's had a live monkey.
Literally.
Why is eating small critters always frowned upon here? WHY?!

[Outside]

"Oh?" Irene asks, wondering what Quinn meant. And where she's going to be set down. She'll have to figure out how to move around on her own over time or something.

[Me.]

Tumbili then remembers his manners, having forgot them originally. He bows to the tiger, and while kneeling will attempt to communicate with it telepathically
Forgive me, mighty and powerful beast, my manners left me momentarily. My name is Tumbili, I am a monkey spirit, and I was wondering if you would allow me to pet you?

[Gullara]

[Lakeside]

Ghar nods. "Very good. Now, for the more difficult part. A summoned crow is of little use unless you can communicate with it. Even that is limited. So as I mentioned before, linking your senses with the bird is a common practice. It's a much more difficult spell though."

He shows them the hand motions for this spell and then tells them the words.

[Reinholdt]

A spirit? Huh? Well... if he can't eat the strange critter... he guesses pets would be alright. But only because he recognizes Mister Buttons as superior.
Mister Buttons straightens a bit to look as regal as he can.

[Me.]

Tumbili smiles to himself and chuckles a little. Able to pretty much tell the animals thoughts, he responds,
While technically I am a spirit, yes, I am in a physical form. So while you could not eat me, you could eat my body. But, I'd just find another, so. Anyways, thank you for permitting me to pet you, and you do not have to try to look more impressive, you look just fine to me, else I wouldn't have come over. But thank you nonetheless.
He will then sit next to the animal and begin petting it.
By the way, what is your name?

[Reinholdt]

Mister Buttons blinks as everything flies over his head.
... What?
Maybe he is giving permission for Mister Buttons to eat him? He'd like that.

And his name is Reinholdt!
Reinholdt purrs at the pets.
