First of, just a short cute-ish link well I though it was nice, just bother to watch the scene the time link (should) go to). Ten cosplayer!

    Also: Yay, Curly is back!

Well, people already commented on things like Wilfs return and the Classic Who villains...

    Few things from me:
Brits (and in general other English speaking people) stop calling your weird systems of measurements proper! Finally adopt the metric system and abandon those heretic units! My goodness... But on that topic, Ten's interview partner lost about as much as Donna's... I guess both are kind of unhealthy but since it's the super magic pill and apparently most people didn't have any backlash it seems okay to me.

Yeah, I'll agree what Ms Foster did wasn't that evil (and as obviously evil as she was it could always fall under 'mediocre evil corporate person' for her line of work.) Though, I guess a law is a law... she could have probably fed it to animals or something instead? Dunno...

And yeah... Rose is back... somehow... and though I kind of share your opinion there are huge amounts of people who loved her... for one reason or another. RTD included, I think

Technically the UK has adopted the Metric system, but imperial measurements still exist here and there because the people keep using them. Same with Canada, Australia, Ireland, and probably a few others. Then the US is just stubborn and has made no move at all. Probably because of the ridiculous amount of money it'd cost to change everything as well as indoctrinate it into the minds of the people.

As for Partners in Crime, it's pretty enjoyable. As for the mystery-themed episode, that's later.

And you end up with mixtures. I weigh things in grams and kilograms. But then, oh, length. Height is in feet and inches, very short distances may be in feet but generally relatively short distances are in metres, while longer distances remain in miles.

Oh, they tried, back in the 70s.

    People shot down the roadsigns.

I suspect that's down to the difficulties of changing everything around. All road signs have distances in miles and speed limits in miles per hour, for instance--can you imagine the carnage and chaos that would arise from trying to change those around, particularly since you couldn't possibly change them all at the same time? Not to mention the cost involved in doing so!

Food packaging is obviously much easier to change because food doesn't generally stay on the shelves for long, so the whole lot quickly change over when you modify the labelling.

At the time, alot of it was actually certain political groups over-protesting and politicians pandering on it.

I won't go into more detail here, lest we incur the wrath of the red-text brigade.

    Re: Evilness of Adipose.
Yeah, I kind of agree that for the most part the scheme is largely benevolent if we assume that no-one was supposed to be completely adiposed.
You're quite right, a lot of people probably would have taken that deal willingly if they were fully informed.

The clincher is, though, that they weren't informed and it wasn't legal in the intergalactic sense to do what they were doing. (Ignoring the implied and possibly non-canon abuses and subversions of british law required to get a product like that into circulation, though the political chaos left behind by the whole Saxon-election thing might have made that easier?) Just kind of a whole moral and ethical quagmire ontop of that, really.

I'm sure that if the Nursemaid hadn't hit the panic button and accepted the Doctor's warning/help, he'd have soon got them re-located to some acceptably non-class-5 planet and maybe even made sure that the nursemaid was less likely to get 'dropped'.

But she didn't, so Adipose get what they came for, although a lot less of it with the downside of probably being in trouble with the 'Shadow Proclamation' and yet another redeemable pseudo villain spurns their one chance through arrogance.

Amy Pond, Samurai Stormtrooper? Rory punching Hitler? More Silents (I hope they actually give a reason why they are evil this time)? Consider me slightly confused, but filled with just as much or slightly more joy.
