Re: [Nexus] Council
Council Chambers
Vasquez looks up when Grace comes back. "How so?" She asks, curious.
Private Room
"It means you'll work in concert with my own Intelligence team. Likely reporting most threats straight to them."

Re: [Nexus] Council
Council Chambers
"If Phil is to be taken at his word, I believe rather than dismissing the case, we can easily stick charges to him. None of this was purposeful but his negligence seems to me to be of the criminal kind."
Grace says, before handing over a copy of her notes to be passed around the Council. It gives a good outline of the interview she made with Phil.

Re: [Nexus] Council
Defendant's Room
"What to do you mean? Give you guys some satellites? Spy drones? Like I said, if you need it, I'll build it for you," Phil shrugs.
"And I'm not serving any sentence considering the fact that I didn't hurt anybody and it's not my gorram fault."

Defendant's Room
"I am your advocate, Phil. I am not affiliated with the Council, and I will do my best to exonerate you. If you have any additional evidence, you should share it with me at once." Mainframe says.

Re: [Nexus] Council
Meeting Room
Vasquez reads the list and shakes her head. "This is...extensive when added to my own. At the least, my list of charges include: Two counts of Hacking into a Public Network, Invasion of Inside Air Space, Knowing Endangerment of Innumerable Civilians, Willing Destruction of Public Property, Threatening a Remnant Official, Two Counts of Resisting Arrest, Death Threats..." She sighs. "It goes on." She says, passing it to the others.

Re: [Nexus] Council
Defendant's Room
Mainframe sends another of his drones to go to the crash site and gather evidence.
"I have sent another of my drones to go to the crash site and gather evidence," Mainframe says, making the narrative text superfluous. "I have also subpoenaed records of the search of the Empire's raid on the warehouse. Any information you can give me about your motives for dropping a robot from orbit would be welcome. I find that action most illogical."My avatar! Isn't it just utterly diabolical? Ashen Lilies made it!

Re: [Nexus] Council
"I tested it first, to make sure it's safe, just a quick note. And that area was the best place to gather evidence concerning Riv, and knowing how paranoid he is, it was best to get Iggy down there in a way he wouldn't expect. The meteorite coming in at the same time, and the Empire's failure to do their job right and clean that place up...well...that was bad luck," Phil shrugs again.
Please note the I have nothing against the Empire. Phil, on the other hand, has something against many of it and the Remnant's leader figures.

"Well, from what I know, Iggy's probably been completely destroyed, but, yes. And the tests were done in the big lot behind my warehouse. I bought it out about a month ago," Phil explains.

Re: [Nexus] Council
Wolfy doesn't remember the details of what happened other than the place was searched, labs destroyed, tunnels collapsed, and that Phil was more than a little uncooperative, even arguing under the threat of being arrested.
Okay, maybe Wolfy the player does remember quite a bit.
Even so, that's the general information that Mainframe gets transmitted.

Re: [Nexus] Council
"This is... intresting to say at least. He really confessed all these crimes?" The mage says with a raised eyebrow.
She pauses, once again looking at the paper presented to her. "Perhaps it's time to talk about a suitable punishment? Community service in combination with a few years of prison?"

"Like I already told you, in the lot behind my warehouse. And it wasn't a bombardment, and I wasn't even high enough up to be orbiting. Why do people insist on making it sound like I attacked someone? Especially Vasquez? Last time I checked, justice is supposed to be just."

Re: [Nexus] Council
Defendant's Room
"There must have been a Nexus anomaly that prevented awareness of the tests in that event. The dropping of Iggy caused atmospheric glowing that was widely witnessed. I advise you not to mention the tests to the council, as they do not help your case." The results of the subpoena are delivered to Mainframe. "I have just received the results of my subpoena. The Empire records show that the Excelsior Tech warehouse was cleared completely before being demolished."My avatar! Isn't it just utterly diabolical? Ashen Lilies made it!

"Certainly. I will arrange for bull immediately," Mainframe says, and electronically places an order for steak to be delivered. Phil should be glad the board filters prevented him saying the actual word he was thinking, or Mainframe might be now ordering manure. Re: [Nexus] Council
Vasquez shakes her head. "Long term imprisonment isn't exactly an option here. Due to the powers of people involved, and the nature of Nexus, most people would be out within days, weeks at most." She tells Cessie. "However, I do have a way to do something similar, even though it's a short term punishment. I can put him into a Penal Company, led by my man Jyarl. Sentence him to a period of three months, or the equivalent if any threats show up that need dealt with. We have ways of controlling him, and he will be given a fair chance. If, at the end, he finishes the sentence, he'll be released. It's how we deal with the more violent of the criminals, murderers, rapists and the like, but they could use a few support units."

Re: [Nexus] Council
"Do you think he'll be willing to accept that deal any more, Vasquez?"
Grace inquires.
"It seems to me ensuring that he follows through will be more trouble than it is worth- and I'm not sure it is a great idea to put someone who will be charged with criminal negligence in such a position, anyway. Even if he meekly followed through, it seems like it might cause... issues."

Re: [Nexus] Council
"I agree with Grace, such punishment seems rather cruel in my opinion. Can't he do community service without putting his life at risk in such a manner? He hardly appears to be a soldier after all. I'm sure his abilities would suit other purposes. If he truly build this robot, why not let him work in your... technology-room or whatever you call it?" Cessie suggests.

Re: [Nexus] Council
"I don't want him in my machine shops because he's already shown that he practically gives away powerful technology to people he suspects will likely use it for unlawful purposes, and I don't want anything I have being able to be replicated just yet. It's also far from Negligence in many cases. Several charges I listed, which we know he did willingly, would have jail time in any other system. I'm not even giving him a death sentence. There's plenty of things he can do for the Penal Company without fighting. They have their own equipment that needs maintained." She says. "If there is a fight and he's deployed, then afterward his time is shortened considerably. Like I said, three months or the equivalent."

Re: [Nexus] Council
"My point was that he's proven himself incompetent. Why would you want him working in such an important area when he is likely to mess up? And further... he harbors great resentment towards the Empire, and by extension, Remnant. Putting him under the charge of one of your men is going to undoubtedly cause problems. No, better to find a different solution."
Grace says, folding her arms behind her back.

Re: [Nexus] Council
La la la!
Here comes Zee!
She doesn't look quite as chipper as she was the last time she was here. Probably because of the huge mess helping to clean up the even bigger mess that was made in the slums. She'll come in through the front door instead of scooting in through directions most people around here can't see.
It's more polite that way!
And besides, she likes using door.
Using doors means she's less likely to leave amoebic plasm footprints on the rug when slipping in from the Far!
And plasm stains are a real bugger to get out.Warning! Random Encounter™ detected!
