[Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXII

[Gnrlshrimp]

Victor undeadtimes and looks around, rather confused.

"Seems rather busier in here than I remember." Well, it's got nothing to do with him, so he simply orders a cup of tea, calls his faithful owl companion back over, and strokes her wing.

Noon peers at the various people in Trog's, the eagle owl's head turning further and further as she slowly scans the room.

Rahona gets peered at for a particularly long time, due to her being covered in feathers. Funny shape for a bird...

Rahona absent-mindedly adjusts her hat as she ponders what a Bachelorette was.

"Oh, a before the weddin partey! Did nay know they held those a' tavurns."

She hits one of those fanc bell thing that usually summons a waiter of some kind and orders off an Ichor Liquor from the grumpping Cosmo. Seems the poor gnome doesn't have as much luck with women as Wolfy does.

"This place never get's borin, does i?"

The wing-armed lass grins at Eileen, she loves interesting stuff.

[The Bushranger]

"Nope, it's never slow. Just don't ever say the Q-word that means the opposite of loud in here. Bad things happen if you do." Eileen chuckles.

[Mina Kobold]

"Ya mean qui-Mmph!"

Rahona tries to say the word but somehow a hand and part of a feathered wing-arm appear in a flash of blue light to cover her mouth to prevent it.

"Oh righ', dun say i'. Sorrey"

Cosmo, having somehow done his job and gotten her drink peers up from behind a barrel of suspcious origin and sighs in relief.

"Anything fun been happenin?"

[The Bushranger]

"Well, getting drunk, getting laid, and getting roped into the party all count as fun. The skirt and stockings, not so much." Eileen scowls at her legs.

SCOWLS!

[Mina Kobold]

Rahona looks at Eileen's legs while sipping her Ichor Liquor.

"Yeah, tha' looks a bi' weird. I'm no' even sure I could wear anything like tha'"

She gestures at her taloned feet to show her point and then divert her attention to the skirt.

"How did ya ge' in those if ya didn' wan' to?"

She tilts her head in the way a confused owl would, which makes most people whose only avian features are feathers and talons look rather silly.

[The Bushranger]

"Magic," Eileen grumbles. "Blue Magic, to be precise."

[Murkus]

"Well, he certainly knows how to lay it on thick." A plotcloned Fettina comments, mostly to herself. She watches the deadtimed Wolfy with a delicate smile and an appraising expression. My, what a guy.

Now that the performance is over (by many posts, seems like) Fettina sets about playin' some swing on her little glowing piano.

Rahona grins and sips some more of the vital fluids from several likely hominid creatures that makkes up her drink.

"So magic a real thin' in this world? And color-marked?"

She moves a strand of hair from her eye as she mentally checks off figuring out how stuff has kept breaking the laws of physics on her mental check-list.

Now she only needs to find a place to get extra pants! Yay!

"Nope. Not usually color-coded for your convienence. But yeah, magic's real. I wield divine magic, myself," Eileen says with a nod.


Brendan, meanwhile, returns, bearing a package.

Rahona finishes her drink and almost slams the glass onto the bar.

"This place gettin better and better! An' I haven't even gotten outta the Tavurn yet!"

Grinningly she adds.

"Unless a future me have, but that dun count."

Eileen raises an eyebrow, not sure what Rahona means by that...


Brendan looks around, sighs at not seeing Ashna, and heads quietly to a corner table, setting his package on it as he takes a seat.

A white mouse scurries its way into the tavern. And then another. And another... That's a lot of mice. So, a whole swarm of white mice scurry their ways into the tavern. They all take a seat on the same stool, piling their way on top of each other. After a short while, all of the mice are on the stool, and then they aren't. In their place is a girl, looking to be in her early twenties or late teens, long black hair in pigtails, a black ribbon tied around her neck, nice looking white sweater and black pants and black and white sneakers. She's also sucking on a lollipop. After she's all the way there, she pats the top of her head. "Now, why do I feel a couple of millimeters shorter?" She says, and then she notices two white mice scurrying along the bar away from her, and she begins chasing after them!

A wide-eyed young man enters the building. He's about average hight, slightly skinny, with short curly brown hair, and blue eyes, wide with awe, as mentioned. He's dressed in jeans, and a t-shirt/ jacket combo. He looks around, slightly nervously, and approaches the bar.

He coughs slightly, and awkwardly orders a pint of beer, before turning back to the room and marvelling quietly.

[Zefir]

Fade watches the newcomer closly, well expect the fact that he didn't watch himself, but his shadow does.

The guy doesn't really notice this. He starts idly flipping a pound coin from hand to hand, as if with out really noticing. Close observers may note that it comes up heads about 9 times out of 10.

[Zefir]

Well don't take note of thing watching you isn't really good isn't it?
The shadow will try to come as close as possible, what in case of a bar isn't really hard. He hides in the nearest shadow to the coin.

"Your coin seems to be broken." Fade nods from the side not even take a look at him.

The guy serendipitously seems to turn around just as Fade approaches.

Oh, uh, hi! It's ... yeah, I can see why it looks like that. Its not broken, it ... I mean, that's kind of supposed to happen

He pauses to compose himself.

Uh, sorry. Hi, I'm Jonathan

[Zefir]

"Your coin is made to have 90% chance to show head? Where I came from this means it's broken or manipulated to cheat."

He takes another drink from his Nuke Cola and still doesn't give him a look.
In case he flips the coin again the shadow will grap it mid air and bring it to Fade.

Jonathan looks surprised, and shakes his head.

No, no, not that. I mean to say that I'm lucky. A Fate Mage. Things like that just happen.

As if to illustrate, he catches the coin in his hand before Fade grabs it

It's not Fade who graps the coin its his shadow which is a seperate thing, but hard to make out sine it can hide in shadows. And Fade can animate the shadow so it can grap things and all.

Either way Fade is sittin much to far away to even have a good look at the coin either he must have eagel eyes or a spycam somewhere around ( or he can look through his shadow.

"What is a Fade Mage? don't knew there is someone who take my name in a job."

Jonathan cocks his head slightly

Uh, no - Fate mage. Fate. As in chance. Destiny. That kind of thing.

"So what is this 'Fate Magic' about?"

He goes on drinking.

She might notice another mouse on the bar, a brownish colored one, wearing a vest and fedora, leaning against a bottle of rum with a miniature mug in one hand. He certainly notices her chasing after the two mice, and quickly puts down his drink, draws a revolver, and takes aim at the girl. Hey, I don't know what dese folks did ta you, but maybe we should talk dis out instead a doin somethin rash, somethin that ya might regret.

Rahona raises a eyebrow to Eileen's raised eyebrow, instinctly trying to keep eye-contact.

Staring contest!

She might notice another mouse on the bar, a brownish colored one, wearing a vest and fedora, leaning against a bottle of rum with a miniature mug in one hand. He certainly notices her chasing after the two mice, and quickly puts down his drink, draws a revolver, and takes aim at the girl. Hey, I don't know what dese folks did ta you, but maybe we should talk dis out instead a doin somethin rash, somethin that ya might regret.

The girl looks at that brown mouse and raises an eyebrow. "They haven't done anything to me, they are me! And they're getting away!" She ignores the drawn gun and dives for the two mice, just managing to catch their tails. As she does so, they disappear, and she grows, almost imperceptibly, by two millimeters, at the most. "That's better, all whole again!"

[ThirdEmperor]

I.... What? The mouse says, looking confused. At least he puts the revolver away, now that he's reasonably sure he won't need to shoot anything.

"So what is this 'Fate Magic' about?"

He goes on drinking.

Jonathan pauses

I thought I just ... Ok. I'm only new at this, but Fate practitioners can manipulate probability and destiny. A master would be able to cause highly improbable events, like spontaneous combustion, plagues of locusts, or piano's falling from the sky. At my level - it's mostly just a bit of good luck.

[Rae Artemi]

The girl smiles at the mouse. "What, you think all of my mass could fit into just one mouse, that's silly! I'd have to either turn into a really big mouse, or a whole bunch of them, and I do the second one." The girl explains, before taking the stick from her lollipop out of her mouth, the actual candy gone. She reaches into her pocket and pulls out another, unwrapping it and beginning to suck again.

[Zefir]

"This kind of ability seem like a curse in my ears. Imagine you only count plagues and things that cause terrible accidents."

The shadow is stil flying around watching Jonathan.
