Re: Hello And Welcome New Members Thread 9
"Captain, they're hailing us from Finland."
"On screen, lieutenant."
Hello!
The Kickstart did it. It kicked myas...behind enough to finally participate a bit more in this forum. I've been a silent lurker over two years. Last Summer I bought some OOTS books and registered myself to the forum, but for some reason I still continued lurking and did not write any messages to any threads (I've enjoyed reading the topics though). But the Kickstarter campaign prompted me to finally write my first message into this thread and to finally say "Hello" to everybody.
I'm a RPG veteran, having played my first sessions a bit over 20 years ago. However, I'm not currently playing very much, maybe a couple of times during the last two years. I've played several RPG's, including at least three versions of D&D: one of the versions of the original D&D, AD&D second edition and D&D 3rd edition. Thus I understand pretty well the D&D background of OOTS. That said, I'm not here to read D&D-gags, I'm here to enjoy well written and entertaining story, surprisingly deep characters and even more surprisingly emotional art.
Well, 'nuff said (to quote Stan Lee). Once again: hello to everybody, let's see if I keep posting more than one message in six months.

Re: Hello And Welcome New Members Thread 9
Hello, my name is.... and I'm a shut in. I found this site when looking for a way to find a pathfinders group for skype that meets more then once a week and wont ditch me for missing a single game. I'm still learning how to play and i love a good story which makes pathfinders like meth to me. I was hoping for a nightly thing, maybe like 3 or 4 times a week if it works. I just want to interact with people who wont judge me and run a few dungeons that aren't trite and scripted like every mmo on the internet. I have all the books for pathfinders and a character sheet program I'm just looking for a group with an open slot or some people who want to make a group.

Re: Hello And Welcome New Members Thread 9
Hello, Apollomasque here.
Long standing fan of OOTS and fantasy/sci-fi in general.
I hail from The Far Off Land Of Toronto, Canada. Current University student that recently joined a DnD group.
I'm a generally laid back guy, prone to bouts of megalomania on occasion. Usually feel like I'm the smartest guy in the room, or at least the only one with an ounce of common sense, especially when I'm really not. Then again, who doesn't?
I often engage in experiments that, while not unscrupulous could be classified as pointlessly dangerous. I tore open a hole in the fabric of causality last month, still don't have a clue about what to do with it.That which does not kill me, had better get me laid.

Re: Hello And Welcome New Members Thread 9
Welcome to the forum, LibrarianHuntar!
You apply to one of the games in Finding Players (Recruitment) and if you're accepted, the DM will make a thread in Ongoing Games and you and the other accepted players will post there. Check out the Guide to Play-by-Post Games in Finding Players (it's stickied up near the top); it's a really good introduction to pbp games!

Re: Hello And Welcome New Members Thread 9
Hello everyone!
I've been lurking here for a long, long time, but the Kickstarter project got me to register. How long time? Since about comic #50. I think I have a somewhat good idea on how things work around here. I'll try not to get in or cause trouble.
I have a little D&D 3.5 experience both as a player and a DM, although my DM'ing stint kind of didn't work out. No big story to tell, it just died slowly. I kind of miss it, though, but it's alright. I'll probably be hanging out in the Gaming (Other) subforum for most of my posts, and of course the OOTS subforum. OOTS is why I keep returning here, after all.
Anyway, hi again! I look forward to being a bit less lurky now that I can actually post.

Hi all. Same as most people - been reading for years, and just now decided to join up - mainly down to the amount of Rping items I seem to find through Google.
So I guess I'll just settle down, get a cat and start really working on my plans for world domination :D

Re: Hello And Welcome New Members Thread 9
Hello everyone.
I've been reading the OOTS comic strip for about a year now and occasionally reading some of the forum posts. Decided to register here on the forums partially because I'll get every single OOTS book thanks to the kickstarter reprint drive.

Hi everyone. I've been reading the comic for a fairly long time, signed up to the forums in 2008 and never posted.
I thought I'd do something about that....

Re: Hello And Welcome New Members Thread 9
hi everyone! i love order of the stick! i have been reading for a few years now and cannot get enough.
but, as an electrician i have to comment on mr. burlews latest comic.
in fact, its "flemings left hand rule" that has to do with electromagnetic vectors, and not the right hand.
does this mean that vaarsuvius is not as all knowing as we think that she is???

Re: Hello And Welcome New Members Thread 9
Fleming had a right hand rule and a left hand rule. The right hand rule deals with the relation between electric current and the magnetic field it produces (or vice versa).
Oh, and I'm new as well. I've been reading for years, but I was too lazy to create an account until now. I mean, uh... the pledge drive inspired me. Hi, everyone.

Re: Hello And Welcome New Members Thread 9
OK. So, first of all, hello. I've been reading the comic and enjoying it immensely(causing me to start making a new comic. Again. Sigh...) that I've decided to create a profile and an avatar.
I'm not very good with introductions, due to my awkward shyness and tendency to ramble a lot to those I am familiar with. But I digress.
So, hi.GAAAAAAAAH. No more ideas for a sig left.
