Hello, hi, and hey there everybody.

I've been reading since day one and to be honest I've probably joined the forums before at some point. Probably but not certainly. Anyway I consider this my first time here so I figured I would stop on by and get to know the regulars, and the new-gu..lars...

I am competent enough to say that I consider myself an "artist", a "musician", a "writer", runner, cook, camper, builder, mover AND shaker. I look great on two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, and a sesame seed bun. Cat, bird, orange, tartan, quark, left, petrichor.... I usually go by the tag "Sir_Non_Sequitur" so this rambling usually makes sense.

All "jokes" and standard cheesy intro banter aside, I'm pretty cool and if you're pretty cool shoot me a message that way we can be pretty cool at the same time, together, simultaneously! What a wonderful universe we exist in!

Hi, I'm Annandul, and I'm a stereotypical anime/manga/visual novel otaku, a standard member of the PC gaming master race, and a fledging GM. I had recently found out about Order of the Stick from the TVTropes wiki, and started reading. After the scene with Thog jumping through a window dressed as a leprechaun, Order of the Stick has been my favourite webcomic. So, ah, hi!

Mine neither. Don't worry, occasional typos or confusions regarding spelling are understood and expected (otherwise, I wouldn't survive here!).

Hi all Barkafürth here! I decided to finally join today, due to me being a fan of OOTS and also because I keep on noticing stuff in recent fantasy video games that is constantly borrowed from D&D and I began to take an interest in it and also because when my interests were boosted when I learned that some of the monsters (that I did not know about at the time and thought they came from some obscure ancient mythology, I'm an mythology junkie) from my all time childhood favourite PC game: Heroes of Might and Magic III ( I don't remember which one) came from D&D I was hooked and finally got an answer to what the heck a Gnoll was (6 year old me: Mommy what's a Gnoll? Mother: I don't know honey read a dictionary or something!). If I was to choose an alignment for all three it would be: Lawful Good, Chaotic Neutral, Lawful Evil.
So yeah, I also forgot to mention I like writing long posts.

Hello to all of you. Big fan of the comic, not sure why I never registered before.

I wanted to register now to find out what folks though Roy's fellow students were "surprising" him with. Red paint and some sort of fading potion??

PS: to the admin, the registration page warning to "say hello in this thread, click here" is a link to a LOCKED thread. :) here

    Hello everyone !

I am a french RPG author and illustrator. I am a Ravenloft fan and i still play with the ADD 2n edition.

I visited this forum for a while now and it is time to register! The translation of our game "Shadows of Esteren" has just ended and I would be happy to discuss it with you. It is quite a big adventure which begins! Some members of this forum helped us a lot in the proofreading of our translation and I would really like to thank you!

By the way sorry for my bad english... and i reassure you, i am NOT the translator of the game

    See ya!

    Hello one, hello all.

My experience with D&D is minimal, although I have had a bit of gaming experience with Vampire: The Dark Ages (which I'm led to believe is a different thing altogether from the Masquerade, although bugger me if I can tell)

Everything I know about D&D comes from The Order of the Stick, which taught me not to take the game too seriously, and from one night's session of what I think was 4e, which taught me not to try to pull a sinking ship out of a river with my bare hands while wearing full plate armor.

I'm looking forward to exploring the play-by-post boards, as I've been missing my gaming fix since summer started and the group all went their separate ways. However, I'm primarily posting to see if my avatar came through. If so, then to my left there should be a half-dragon in a monk's robe calmly resolving a dispute with an aggressive neighbor.

Looking forward to delving in! Hello again!

Edit: Blast, it is not working. Anyone have advice on how to upload custom avatars?

Hello all! RichardGray here. I am a fairly inexperienced player to most d20 games. I have participated in a short 3.5 campaign and the keep on shadow-fell 4.0 freebie. I've played the Pokemon table top shortly. I have much interest in WoD and D&D. I am also interested in learning to play Pathfinders as a few of my online friends play it and i would like to participate. I am most interested in play by post games or games via skype group calls w/o voice as my role-playing skills are lackluster when it comes to verbal communication. I hope you all will be kind to me and i thank you for the opportunity to learn and grow here.

[edit] PS. i cant find the "post to topic" or "reply to topic" button, whichever it may be, for the life of me. I eep clicking "quote" in order to post. Assistance please?[edit]

Hi, Barkafürth, rredmond, Nelyhann, Komodo, RichardGray, and lionbrain1! Welcome to the Playground

rredmond, I think the students just have red paint, but I'm sure the relevant discussion thread (in the OOTS subforum) will have been discussing it And, yeah, that thing's been out of date for a while.

Komodo, for custom avatars, you first need to upload it to some sort of image sharing site (ImageShack and PhotoBucket are popular), then put the url the site gives you in the box. Make sure it starts with "http" and ends in ".gif" ".jpg" or ".png". Two things that seem to cause problems are having a space in the file name or the name of the folder that the avatar has been uploaded to, and using an abbreviated url that some image hosting sites use -- try to get the avatar alone on a page and use that url or look for a "direct url" to copy. If you have problems with any of those steps or are still having problems once you've checked all of that, let me know!

RichardGray, look at the top and bottom left of the first and last post on a page/in a thread, and you should see "Post Reply"

    lionbrain1, what's with all the ?

Hey everyone. I'm not exactly a new member but I'm returning to the forums after a very extended hiatus. I mostly hung out in Friendly Banter and the PbP boards and hopefully I'll be able to reconnect with some of my old buddies who are still hanging around.

I can confirm this, I had to use photobucket to get my normal avatar. Hey Savannah are you a mod? It's hard to tell in these parts, I'm used to the less artsy forums of Knights-n-Knaves and Dragonsfoot, y'all are quite colorful for me! ;)

Oh yeah, and thanks for the welcome!
