    Default Draconic/Dragonborn Feats (Pathfinder) PEACH

Tons upon tons of feats and class features and the like, but more is better! So I decided to give converting to 3.75 (Pathfinder) a try with the Draconic feats. I also found a lacking of Racial feats for the dragonborn, so I am trying to fix that too.

Also, the items in this thread are geared toward a campaign I will be playing soon. The DM read my changes and stated "It depends on what the boards say".

    DRAGON MAGIC

    DRACONIC ARMOR [DRACONIC]
Change: You gain DR X/magic where X is equal to the level of the spell you just cast + Cha mod. The bonus received from Cha mod can not be higher than the number of Draconic feats you have). For example, after casting fireball having this and Draconic Heritage feats with a +5 Cha mod, you would gain DR 5/magic for 1 round.

    DRACONIC HERITAGE [DRACONIC]
Change: You also gain a bonus to the skill associated with your Draconic Heritage equal to the number of Draconic feats you have.

    DRACONIC KNOWLEDGE [DRACONIC]
Change: You gain a bonus to Knowledge skills equal to the number of Draconic feats +2. If you have 10 or more ranks in a Knowledge skill, the bonus is increased to +4.

    DRACONIC SENSES [DRACONIC]
Change: If you have five or more Draconic feats your darkvision increases to 90 feet and works in magical darkness.
If you have seven or more Draconic feats your blind sense increases to 40 feet.

    DRACONIC VIGOR [DRACONIC]
Change: When you cast an arcane spell, you heal damage equal to X, where X is equal to the level of the spell you just cast + Cha mod. The bonus received from Cha mod can not be higher than the number of Draconic feats you have). For example, after casting fireball having this and Draconic Heritage feats with a +5 Cha mod, you would heal 5 hit points.

    DRAGONFIRE ASSAULT [DRACONIC]
Change: You gain bonus damage equal to 1/2 the number of Draconic feats you have. If you have the Draconic Heritage feat or if you are a half-dragon, the extra damage is of the energy type (acid, cold, electricity, fi re, or sonic) that corresponds to your heritage or your draconic parent instead. If your feat or your parent is not associated with one of these energy types, this
feat has no effect for you.

    DRAGONTOUCHED
Change: You also gain an additional +1 to the skill associated with the Draconic Heritage feat. If you do not have the Draconic Heritage feat you may opt this bonus to apply to the Perception skill. If you take the Draconic Heritage feat, you may change this bonus to apply to you skill associated with the feat.

    RACES OF THE DRAGON

    DRACONIC ARCANE GRACE [DRACONIC]
Change: The bonus equals the level of the spell slot used plus your Cha mod. The maximum bonus received from your Cha mod can not exceed the number of Draconic feats you have.

    DRACONIC BREATH [DRACONIC]
Change: ...2d6 points of damage per spell level expended plus 1 point of damage per Draconic feat you have.

    DRACONIC CLAW [DRACONIC]
Change: You additionally gain a bonus to your damage on your claw attack equal to 1/3 the number of Draconic feats you have.

    DRACONIC FLIGHT [DRACONIC]
Change: ...fly speed equal to 15...

    DRACONIC LEGACY [DRACONIC]
Change: Your caster level for these spells are always calculated one higher than normal.

    DRACONIC PERSUASION [DRACONIC]
Change: ...bonus equal to two times...

    DRACONIC POWER [DRACONIC]
Change: Increase the benefits of this feat by one for every six Draconic feats you have.

    DRACONIC PRESENCE [DRACONIC]
Change: If you have four or more Draconic feats, you can effect creatures with HD equal to your own.
If you have eight or more Draconic feats, you can effect creatures with up to 1 more HD than your own.

    DRACONIC RESISTANCE [DRACONIC]
Change: If you completely negate damage dealt by the energy descriptor associated with your Draconic Heritage feat, the bonus received from this increases to five time the number of Draconic feats you have for a number of rounds equal to one third the number of Draconic feats you have (minimun one round).

    DRACONIC SKIN [DRACONIC]
Change: ... natural armor increases by one for every two Draconic feats you have (minimum plus one) not counting this feat or Draconic Heritage.

    DRACONIC TOUGHNESS [DRACONIC]
Change: Additionally, upon taking this feat you gain 3 bonus hit points.

    NEW FEATS

    ENHANCED ASPECT [DRACONIC]
Prerequisites: Dragonborn, Draconic Heritage, Sorcerer level 1
Benefit: Your effective Hit Die for the purposes of determining the benefit of your racial Aspect is increased by one for every 3 Draconic feats you have.

    ADDITIONAL ASPECT [RACIAL]
Prerequisites: Dragonborn, 12 HD or more
Benefit: You may select an additional Draconic Aspect associated with your race. The scaling of this aspect is you HD as normal, minus five. If you have the Enhanced Aspect feat, it can be used to mitigate this penalty.

HEART OF THE DRAGON ENGORGED [RACIAL]
Prerequitisites: Dragonborn, 6 HD or more, HEART draconic aspect
Benefit: The damage your breath weapon deals is increased to 1d10 per 1d8 you previously had. Additionally you gain one damage per five HD you have. This feat only effects the damage dealt by the breath weapon gained from the dragonborn race.

MIND OF THE DRAGON REALIZED [RACIAL]
Prerequitisites: Dragonborn, 6 HD or more, MIND draconic aspect
Benefit: At 3 HD, your granted senses increase by 10 feet. At 6 HD the Perception bonus increases to +3. At 9 HD your granted senses are increased by an additional 10 feet. At 12 HD the Perception bonus increases to +4. At 15 HD your granted sense increase by an additional 10 feet and the bonus to your Perception check increases to +5.

WINGS OF THE DRAGON UNFURLED [RACIAL]
Prerequitisites: Dragonborn, 6 HD or more, WINGS draconic aspect
Benefit: Flying speed is increased by 20 feet and maneuverability increases one grade.

SKIN OF THE DRAGON ENCASED [RACIAL]
Prerequisite: Dragonborn, 6 HD or more, RUNIC HIDE draconic aspect
Benefit: You gain an additional +1 to natural armor and your damage reduction gained from the RUNIC HIDE aspect is increased by 2. If you do not have the damage reduction yet, you gain damage reduction 2/Magic until you reach 9 HD, then your 5/Magic is increased to 7/Magic.

    RUNED DRACONIC ARMOR [DRACONIC]
Prerequisite: Dragonborn, Skin of the Dragon Encased, Draconic Armor, 9 HD or more
Benefit: The damage reduction from these sources stack.

    ARCANE BREATH RECHARGE [DRCONIC]
Prerequisite: Dragonborn, Draconic Heritage, HEART dragon aspect
Benefit: Whenever you cast an arcane spell, the recharge time for your breath weapon associated with your race is reduced by one round.

    RETRIBUTIVE BLOOD [RACIAL]
    Prerequisite: Dragonborn, HEART dragon aspect
Benefit: Enemies that attack you with a natural or melee weapon (not reach weapons) take 1 damage per base damage die (as if you have NO modifiers) of your breath weapon. If you have the Draconic Heritage feat this dakage correspond to your draconic heritage dragon race. If you do not have the Draconic Heritage feat or you heritage does not deal one of the true dragon damage types, your default damage type is fire.

SUNSCALE DRAGONBORN [RACIAL] (Sorry, had to.)
Prerequisite: Dragonborn, RUNIC HIDE dragon aspect
Benefit: Whenever you are outside during the day, you gain a +2 enhancement bonus to natural armor (characters without natural armor have an effective score of +0).

    ELDRITCH BREATH [RACIAL, ELDRITCH]
Prerequisite: Dragonborn, HEART dragon aspect, Eldritch Blast 1d6
Benefit: You may combine your eldritch blast with your breath weapon to add 1d6 damage to eldritch blast for every 2 dice damage you have for your breath weapon. This takes a toll on the eldritch energies being tied to your draconis fundamentum, giving your eldritch blast the same recharge time as your breath weapon. After which the eldritch blast functions as normal.

    EXTENDED DRACONIC ARMOR [DRACONIC]
Prerequisites: Draconic Heritage, Draconic Armor, any other 5 [DRACONIC] feats
Benefit: The bonus you receive from Draconic Armor lasts for an additional round. If you cast another arcane spell that would give you damage reduction, the two bonuses do not stack, use the higher of the two or in the case of casting the same level of spell, refresh the 2 round duration.

    SECOND DRACONIC HERITAGE [DRACONIC]
You have another type of draconic blood coursing in your veins that has finally gained enough power to emerge.
Prerequisites: Draconic Heritage, Draconic Legacy, Sorcerer level 10
Benefit: You may choose a second dragon to be a part of your heritage and gain all the benefits thereof.
Special: You bonus to saves versus sleep and paralysis increase by 2. Should you choose a dragon with the same draconic skill or element, you gain a +4 to the skill and +2 to saves versus that elemental descriptor instead of gaining the benefits of the Draconic Heritage feat twice.

The Aspect of the Hide is the work of another in which the given name to the aspect is the IRONSOUL DRAGONBORN, done by another changed for my purposes.

    Aspect of the Hide

The dragonborn who choose this aspect gain the toughness of steel, instead of the breath, wings, or eyes of dragons. Hide Dragonborn tend to have scales of an iron-grey color. Strange runic markings cover their flesh, shifting as they grow in power.

Instead of gaining one of the Draconic Aspects common to other dragonborn you instead gain the Runic Hide Aspect.
    Runic Hide (Ex):
At 1st level you gain +1 natural armor bonus to your AC, as well as immunity to fatigue, exhaustion, poison, nausea, and disease.
At 6th level you gain Light Fortification
At 9th level you gain DR 5/magic; this is supernatural.
At 12th level you gain Moderate Fortification.
At 15th level you gain DR 5/magic and adamantine; the magic portion is supernatural. This supersedes your previous DR 5/magic.

Please feel free to PEACH and make suggestions as needed.

    Class Features
All of the following are features of the draconic archanamach prestige class.
Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Draconic archanamachs gain no proficiency with any weapon or armor.

Breath Weapon:*A draconic archanamach’s breath weapon increases in potency depending on the method through which she has acquired the ability.
If a draconic archanamach acquired the breath weapon by means of the dragonfire adept class (see*Dragon Magic, page 25), levels in draconic archanamach stack for purposes of determining the damage of the breath weapon and breath effects accessible to her. Thus, a 3rd level sorcerer/3rd level dragonfire adept that reaches her second level in draconic archanamach is eligible to acquire a breath effect as if it had reached her 5th level in dragonfire adept, as usual. Furthermore, the draconic archanamach is eligible to choose metabreath feats, as if her breath weapon had an effective recharge rate of 1 round.
If a draconic archanamach acquired the breath weapon by means of another class (such as the dragon shaman base class or the dragon disciple prestige class) or through means of a racial ability (such as the breath weapon of a half-dragon or dragonborn), the damage of the breath weapon increases by one die every two class levels of the draconic archanamach.

Draconic Heritage:*A draconic archanamach gains the Draconic Heritage as a bonus feat, even if she does not meet the prerequisites. A half-dragon draconic archanamach that gains this feat must choose the dragon type to which she belongs, as usual. If the draconic archanamach already has this feat, she may choose a bonus feat instead. At levels 5 and 9, a draconic archanamach gains an additional draconic feat that she meets the prerequisites for.

Blood of Dragons: A draconic archanamach add her level to her effective sorcerer levels when determining the powers gained from her bloodline. If the draconic archanamach does not have sorcerer levels, she instead gains bloodline power from the draconic bloodline using her draconic archanamach level as her sorcerer levels to determine bonuses gained. She must choose a dragon type upon her first level int his class and that type must be the same as her sorcerer type. This ability does not grant bonus spells to a sorcerer unless he possesses spell slots of an appropriate level. Such bonus spells are automatically granted if the sorcerer gains spell slots of the spell's level.

Dragonpact:*At 2nd level, a draconic archanamach takes advantage of her knowledge of arcane magic to establish a deeper pact with a dragon. Regardless of the method in which the draconic archanamach learned the arcane arts, the draconic magic within her and her awakened heritage allow said pact to happen. A draconic archanamach may establish a dragonpact as if it were a sorcerer of 4th level (see Dragonpacts, Dragon Magic page 87) regardless of the arcane class it follows. However, the draconic archanamach may only choose a pact offered by a dragon as chosen by the Draconic Heritage feat; if the chosen dragon cannot establish a dragonpact, the draconic archanamach may choose one based on similarities (thus, a draconic archanamach with Draconic Heritage (radiant dragon) may choose to establish a dragonpact with a gold dragon instead).
If the draconic archanamach is a sorcerer, this dragonpact does not count for the limit of dragonpacts she may make. She may make another dragonpact with a different kind of dragon if she so desires without any negative circumstances.

Dragonspell (Sp):*At 3rd level, a draconic archanamach alters a fundamental aspect of her arcane magic to resemble her knowledge of draconic power. She loses some of her flexibility or power, but in exchange acquires the ability to use a single spell she knows when she so desires.
If the draconic archanamach casts spells spontaneously (such as by being a sorcerer), she may permanently sacrifice one spell slot of 2nd level or lower and choose a single 2nd level or lower spell she knows. The spell must be on her spell list and belong to the sorcerer/wizard spell list (except for sorcerers, who may choose a spell from any list so as long as it is a spell known to them, such as spells from the Draconic Legacy feat or spells acquired from heritage feats); furthermore, the spell cannot have a costly material component or an XP requirement. From now on, the draconic archanamach may cast that spell as a spell-like ability 3 times per day, using her arcane caster level.
At 6th level and again at 9th level, a draconic archanamach may choose to permanently sacrifice a spell slot of higher level and use a single spell known as a spell-like ability. The draconic archanamach is limited to a spell of 5th level or lower at level 6, and a spell of 7th level or lower at level 9th. A draconic archanamach is not forced to use this ability at the moment it acquires it; she may delay the permanent expenditure of spell slots and the choice of spells for a later moment; however, once that choice is made, it is permanent and may not be changed. At 5th level you gain one additional use per day and at 9th you gain two additional uses per day.

Draconic Epiphany (Ex):*Starting at 4th level, a draconic archanamach may select one spell from any class’s spell list (including divine spells), of a level equal to or lower than the highest-level arcane spell she can cast. The draconic archanamach may add this spell to her arcane spellcasting class spell list as a spell of the same level; all other aspects of the spell remain unchanged. Draconic archanamach who cast spells spontaneously add the spell to their list of spells known (and the acquired spell does not count against the limit of spells known by the draconic archanamach). A draconic archanamach may not use a spell acquired by this method as the spell to be used through the dragonspell class ability (see above). At 7th level and again at 10th level, a draconic archanamach adds another spell to her spellbook or list of spells known.

Breath Channeling (Su):*At 5th level, a draconic archanamach may channel the effect of any arcane spell that affects an area through her breath weapon. As a full-round action, a draconic archanamach may attack with her breath weapon and cast the spell at the same time; the area of the breath weapon effectively becomes the spell’s area as well. A draconic archanamach that has a breath weapon through the dragonfire adept class may choose the breath weapon’s area to be a line or a cone, as usual. This ability only effects spells that already have a range on them. i.e. this ability does not effect disguise self to deal damage and disguise the enemies.

Improved Dragonpact:*At 8th level, the draconic archanamach gains a stronger benefit from establishing a dragonpact. So as long as the draconic archanamach has the benefits of her dragonpact (or dragonpacts, if a sorcerer), she can prepare or cast the spell-like abilities of her dragonpact as if they were known spells. They are added to the list of spells known (if the draconic archanamach casts arcane spells spontaneously). A draconic archanamach may not use a spell acquired by this method as the spell to be used through the dragonspell class ability (see above).

    ALTERNATE SORCERER CLASS FEATURE

    Draconic Magical Focus
You focus on the magic that dragons embody, to learn these traits you however must sacrifice inheriting their physical attributes.
    Class: Sorcerer
    Level: 1st, 3rd, 9th, 15th, and 20th.
    Replaces: Bloodline Powers
Benefit: At the replacement levels, instead of gaining a bloodline power, you instead may choose any [Draconic] feat that you meet the prerequisites for.

At any level that you would obtain a bloodline power, you may instead choose this alternate class feature.

Well not familiar with Pathfinder (that is what you mean by 3.75 right), so I don't know if the general power of feats has increased, decreased, or stayed the same. The benefit of feats with a bonus based on the number of them you have, though, has increased and the opportunity cost for taking them has decreased with the increased number of feats.

Normally draconic feats are a flavorful, but rather weak, option for sorcerers so the power boost to most look reasonable in a 3.5 game.

    Exceptions to this would be:
Draconic Knowledge: As is it's a better version of Skill Focus (admittedly bad) for all Knowledge skills (okay this gets good) that then becomes significantly better. The feat already grants several bonus class skills you could probably leave it alone.

Draconic Presence: I'd advice against upping this to Frightened as it makes it a Save or Lose. I might instead up the Hit Die cap slightly.

Draconic Toughness: It's difficult to calculate. I'd just make it +3 per feat, but with the other increases and the extra feats from Pathfinder that might be too much.

    For the new feats:

Most of them look fine, but a few questions:

HEART OF THE DRAGON ENGORGED [DRACONIC]

Why is this one Draconic while the others in the same line are Racial? Also does it add a flat bonus to damage per 5 HD or +1 die per 5 HD, it's currently unclear.

MIND OF THE DRAGON REALIZED [RACIAL]

Why Tremorsense? Besides being a little strong at 3rd level (tremorsense is only slightly weaker than the 15th level ability of blindsense), very few dragons get tremorsense that I can think of (off the top of my head I can't think of any official dragons that do but that's no guarantee that none do).

SUNSCALE DRAGONBORN [RACIAL] (Sorry, had to.)

    The bolded portion intrigues me.

As for the PrC don't know Pathfinder well enough to critique a class for it.
    Peanut Half-Dragon Necromancer by Kurien.

    Current Projects:

Group: The Harrowing Halloween Harvest of Horror Part 2

Personal Silliness: Vote what Soulknife "Fix"/Inspired Class Should I make??? Past Work Expansion Caricatures.

Default Re: Draconic/Dragonborn Feats (3.75) PEACH

Thanks for some critique. The general power scaling in Pathfinder went up the slightest bit in most cases. There is a feat similar to toughness (but couldn't possibly be a feat of the exact same name! o.O) grants 3 HP at first taking it, when you have more HD than 3, it gives you an additional HP per HD. Very minor things like that.

Draconic Knowledge: This one is in the theme of the skill bonus granting feats in Pathfinder. +2, 10+ ranks changes it to a +4. Makes a cruddy feat better to take. In the case of this feat, makes a decent one a little better.

Draconic Prescence: Didn't think of that, good call.

Draconic Toughness: Yeah I get that, 3 per feat would be extremely too much that's why I added the additional 1 per 3. For simplicity sake (sigh, I enjoyed my extra HP) though I think I might revert it. I just wanted to think of something for that additional .25 that Pathfinder is.

HEART OF THE DRAGON ENGORGED: Gah! My initial idea made them all Draconic, but I realized they really had nothing to do with being Draconic so I changed them.... Missed one.
    Also, 5 HD= +1 damage, 10 HD= +2 damage and so on.

MIND OF THE DRAGON REALIZED: Well, I wanted a way to enhance each of the dragon aspects and couldn't think of anything else for the MIND aspect. Simply increasing the footage would work I assume, AND would be in line with the other two.... so.... ok. My bust. Good call.

SUNSCALE: Delve into Unearthed Arcana :) Here's a hint, spell "touched".

As I've picked up Pathfinder, I think the general theme for balancing is.... Hey, this is a little strong for 3.5 right? Yeah? Perfect >:)

Like I said before, thanks for a review, even without your familiarity with Pathfinder, you gave a lot of good advice and caught some of my mistakes.

    Much appreciated :)
