I like how Ben looks so young in the small "flashback" panel on the bottom, Eve too, and now we're starting to see them mature a bit.

Yeh... so as of right now Ben apperently knows what both Eve's dad, Roys coffin, aswell as Roy as a child look like. And Eve sleeping.... so many other possible things to make Ben re-think his relationship with Eve.

He doesn't know about those things. I would say those pictures represent understanding, not knowledge - he's becoming increasingly aware of the weight of what's going on. This isn't some cheesy horror flick where the monsters are soulless machines of destruction that must be destroyed. Oh, they are all of that, of course, but they're also so much more - they are (or at least were) people. Their lives, and their descents, have impacts on those around them - Eve's father, Charlie's "friend", the completely innocent angel, even Roy... this is real, with all the messy and emotional complications that come with it. I think the understanding of that is just now hitting home.

I rather expect the full line to be "W-wait, what?! You mean me? I'm not her boyfriend! But... that's not important right now, is it? Yeah... I'm staying." Only more appropriately badass.

Or I'm full of bovine fertilizer... That part's a given, come to think of it. The only question is how far off I am.

We don't know that he doesn't know how to do it, we just know that Fong was surprised that he could do it.

There IS something going on here, don't get me wrong. But i think it's more of an ability than information thing.

STOP! It's Occam Time!

Simply, Ben has been shown to have 1 super human ability consistently, which his Whitebox Weapon improves his capability with. Which is what Whitebox Weapons do. He's a Mimic, in the superhero sense (not in the homicidal furniture sense). Simply put, "Monkey See, Monkey Do." Ben can see something, and he can then do it. This could be something that some Librarians do, similar to Fong's Aurasight. Now, it isn't something Ben consciously knows... I mean, how would he figure that out? However, his subconscious was aware of this fact and didn't feel like turning into a small stain on the ground. Ergo, fourth form time.
