I was so eager to play along with thread derailment today because the last time something like this happened, SiuiS drew some terrifically amazing art showcasing the aftermath for me. Not so secretly, I hope to cause something similar. One can only hope there's enough time and boredom for him at work!

It's not about transparency, just wishful thinking that happened to align with your interests and abilities.

I know, right? A little romance every now and then wouldn't kill you guys. and we've already done zombies, time travel, Benny hill, shock!gore, D&D cross overs, tv cross overs, movie cross overs, political intrigue, grimdark, slavery, swords and sorcery... You guys have burnt through every other genre... Give romance a chance!

The unfortunate thing is that it's difficult to burst into spontaneous acts of romance in mid-thread and a) do it properly and b) not make lots of ponies suddenly uncomfortable. So comedy rules the day I guess. But maybe when the dust has settled somepony will have written a private little story for interested parties to enjoy while everypony else sticks their heads in the sand and plays the Ostrich Game. Which sounds fun!

I feel like Rainbow Dash's personality is such that she is able/willing to take second place in select aspects of the relationship so long as she doesn't feel challenged in the ones she considers herself an expert in. Or at the very least, that she has a "safe zone" of expertise to retreat to if she ever feels overwhelmed. She might even defer to her partner in some aspects, but she has to have that place where she is Queen.
