Blaine stares at Maleus, blinks twice, then bursts out laughing.

"What a card!"

Blaine is fairly sure that Maleus is harmless.

I don't think Maleus should try to prove Blaine wrong. There are many needles in most infirmaries and Blaine is psychic who has no aversion to inflicting bodily harm upon others.

[Outside]

Valaira merely nods in response to both Quinn's inquiry and Zero's inquiry.

This is one of those times where actions speak louder than words.

[Recaiden]

[Outside]

After disappearing and appearing a few times, Anchor walks down from the main area to the shore of the lake, and sits by it with no gloves.

Zero will stand up and offer Valaria his hand to help her stand up.

Outside

"I'll meet you inside, then," Quinn says to Valaria with a reassuring smile, as the timeline twists itself more into spaghetti...and she waves at Anchor!


Infirmary

"You're probably right," Quinn tells Reelshka with a nod, as the timeline twists itself more into spaghetti...and she looks over at Blaine, awaiting Valaria's arrival.

(Don't ask how the timeline works with the continuity shift between the two Quinns. Just...don't ask. )

Valaira takes Zero's hand and pulls herself onto her feet. She then will follow Zero wherever he decides to lead her.

Zero will lead Valaria to a room that is open in the Maple Cabin.

Maleus actually has the potential to be quite harmful, or very harmless. It depends. At the moment he means Blaine no harm anyway, so it's all good. The comment about dying want even a threat. He's genuinely curious what would happen if someone died in his presence. It's never happed before.

Maleus joins in one the laughing. He's not sure what's funny, but he doesn't want to feel left out.

[Maple Cabin]

Once Valaira steps inside of the cabin, she visibly tenses. It might be very apparent that she isn't accustomed to living in civilized society. She doesn't really know what to do with over half of the objects in the room.

That may be a problem...

[Infirmary]

Hey, Maleus is laughing too!

Blaine shakes his head. He was going to have to buy that guy a beer sometime.
"So, Quinn, you're still alive! Mind cutting me loose?"

Blaine is incredulous, and his voice demonstrates this quality quite well. How she managed to defeat Valaira remains a mystery to Blaine.

A mystery which he will leave up to Quinn to solve.

Is something wrong?

Zero asks when Valaria walks into the room.

Kirk plotclones here. He reluctantly goes to sign up for an appointment with Dr Burnett. That done he goes elsewhere until it's time for his appointment.

Infirmary

"You're probably right," Quinn tells Reelshka with a nod, as the timeline twists itself more into spaghetti...and she looks over at Blaine, awaiting Valaria's arrival.

Reelshka also peers at Blaine, silent. She wanted to show Quinn her blueprints of a power plant, but it's not really the best time.

[Elsewhere]

Kirk could run into Sophie, who is eager to find another redemption project to work on now that Dr. Burnett is taking care of Olivia.

Kirk could run into her. But he might not make a point of talking to her unless, say, he comes around a corner and nearly runs right into her.

The drow comes to a sudden halt after almost running into her. "Oh. Sorry about that. Just a bit distracted. Have we met before?" Kirk likes to think he can recognize most people around here by sight, btu Sophie isn't ringing a bell.

Anchor looks up from the lake at the sound of deadtime leaving. "Oh, hello."

Doctor Stroffelnburg smiles at Anchor.
"Hello there. How are you?"

[Recaiden]

"I'm not sure, which is odd. Disappointed and a bit of starving, but...grown up a bit? I'm thinking maybe I should leave the NEXUS and become an apprentice baker or something. So I've been staring at this lake thinking. * whistle * How are you?"

[Reinholdt]

[Lakeshore]

The currently wheelchair bound Doctor Stroffelnburg taps his leg casts.
"Oh, I've been better, but I'm alive, which is something I'm incredibly thankful for."

He pauses a bit. "You like baking and cooking?"

[Recaiden]

[Lakeshore]

"Aww. How much longer until you're healed?" Anchor asks, looking at the wheelchair with interest and a bit of fear. Metal, moving parts, the horror!
Then she shakes her head.
"I think so. I've never tried it, but I like the idea. But Oliver offered me the job, as opposed to this place, where there's not much of anything. But at the same time, I feel like it would be a bit of a waste to try to fit into the human world."

[Reinholdt]

[Lakeshore]

"Oh a couple of months until they're fully healed, probably. But I imagine I'll be able to walk around on crutches before then."

The doctor raises an eyebrow.
"Well, we all have to find our place in the world sooner or later. It wouldn't hurt to try the job out and see how it goes."

[Recaiden]

[Lakeshore]

Anchor looks a bit shocked; such a long while. "I'm sorry."

"Wait! Now that you mention it, I think it would hurt. You've reminded me of something important. I already know my peoples' places, and where mine used to be. Feelings can't just change that. Plus, normalcy isn't something to do, it's something you are. How could I just try it?"
"Thanks, ...um, your name?"
Anchor smiles casually, cheered by what she's remembered.

[Reinholdt]

[Lakeshore]

Dr. S is a little surprised, but nods. Probably some sort of family or tribal thing Anchor was referring to. Such tings happened.

"You're welcome. I am Doctor Stroffelnburg. And you?"

[Recaiden]

"I'm Anchor. Pleased to meet you." I don't think any has ever told her about him, such that she would connect him with Vincent.

[Reinholdt]

[Lakeshore]

Jamie might've. Might not have.

All the same, he offers his hand with a smile. "Well Anchor, I'm glad you figured things out."

[Recaiden]

[Lakeshore]

"Thanks. But what are you doing? Can't you tell I can't shake your hand?"

[Reinholdt]

The doctor tilts his head, looking at Anchor's hands.
"I'm sorry. Are they injured?" They look pretty normal to him.

[Recaiden]

[Lakeshore]

"They're not electrically extended in this world. Immaterial. Like how I'm transparent when I'm here?"
She tries to wave a hand through his arm to demonstrate.

Is something wrong?

Zero asks when Valaria walks into the room.

[Maple Cabin]

"All of this stuff is just so...foreign."

"I mean, I've seen it all before, but I've never used these thingies."

Valaira points at the bed. She has seen one before, but she doesn't quite understand their purpose.

They are soft, but are they genuinely useful?

[Reinholdt]

[Lakeshore]

She'll very much touch his arm as if he was made entirely of ghost-touch materials or something. No going through that arm.

He tilts his head just a bit farther.
"My dear, everyone in this world is important. Especially you. You are not immaterial." To prove it, he'll go to take her hand in his. "I understand it can feel that way sometimes."

Anchor jerks her hand away in shock. "Ah! Don't touch me. How are you doing that?"

"Or, what are you? How do you look solid and be subtly present at the same time? You don't seem magic or anything?"
